Just for reference sake, spending 600 quid on olives and onions in the early 1920s would be the equivalent of spending 33,000 quid in 2024. So Tommy has a right to be a little bit concerned with how Arthur is spending the money. Lol.
@@sabadodomingo1293 That's what I thought too lol. He didn't even believe his own lie when he was telling Tommy about the costs. "Yeah, with little bits of onion... Yeah..." 😂Funny enough, an onion is slang for a certain amount of cocaine.
I love the fact this show put my region of the U.K. on the map. So much history here - In England people always say “you’re a northerner or southerner” nobody knew where I was from when I was travelling as it’s a small town so I’d say, near Birmingham
Same with liverpool.. Most of this show was filmed here in my city but we get a lot of hate and classim comments about us .. nobody really knows it was filmed a lot here but we were buzzing when we saw it being filmed here. We often get told we dont represent england and people look down their noses at us also.
I'm really glad you're enjoying this series. They actually shot some external London scenes in my hometown of Bolton... It was mental, I bobbed into town at lunch whilst they were filming... without knowing. Walked into a closed street and saw Cillian Murphy about 30 yards away before someone stopped me going further. They said they were filming something, didn't say what, and people would have to wait whilst a current shot was played out. I said I know what you're filming. I can see his hat
Your black sails reaction was incredible.. just got done binging that with my wife.. you guys are so genuine, you cannot fake the emotion and your review of the episode before and after is topnotch! Thank you so much, my wife Nikki and I love watching your show... RAISE THE BLACK!
Just in case you were still wondering about the ages of the Shelby siblings as of this point in the story. Arthur is 34, Tommy’s 31, John’s 26, Ada’s 24 and baby Finn’s 13.
The thing with Alfie and Tommy is that they both share the same mindset when it comes to strategic deal making. They broker a deal with all sides, reap the benefits, then cut ties with whoever's value has either diminished or has proven themselves too risky to keep relations with. Tommy demonstrated this throughout all of Season One, where he cozied up to Campbell, Billy Kimber, to an extent the IRA, and in a very roundabout way the Lee family. Alfie's doing the same here. Tommy may have bolstered his power in London, but Solomons had always maintained suspicions on the Peaky Blinders' motives. Even before the Eden Club, he knew what they did to Kimber and he didn't appreciate them planting Billy Kitchen in his own bakery to check his authority. He sensed a subtle encroachment on his turf, so he opened up to Sabini's barter. And as a side bonus, it also gave him an opportunity to embarass his main rival and flex on him a little, as this time it was the Italians (who were previously winning the war for control of London) approaching the Jews.
Not sure if it's your kind of show but Finn Cole (Michael) played in another show called Animal Kingdom with Ellen Barkin, so good! You guys should check it out!
I finished Peaky Blinders 1.5 weeks ago and immediately searched for something else to watch Finn Cole in. I started Animal Kingdom the same day and watched all 6 seasons in 1.5 weeks. I finished yesterday and it became an instant Top 10 show for me. It was insanely good and addictive.
From Saudi Arabia, I follow and love you . Thank you guys. You are always with me. Perhaps you do not know how much you are a part of my day and my life, watching you.
"obviously they're protected, they're peaky blinders" It's not that they're protected, the peaky blinders own that city, the police was for the most part under their control. Michael was protected but he's part of the family that runs the city, they can do almost whatever they want there
N & S, do your thing with a show called “Banshee”. The actor that plays Homelander on The Boys, Antony Starr, plays (Sheriff) Lucas Hood on Banshee. He’s as “interesting” in Banshee as he is in TB. I think the show is tailor-made for you two … 🤓👍🏻

You said it must have been hard for police to remain straight and good because they were so afraid.. But in actual fact it was the other way round..The gangs were scared of the police...In reality the peaky blinders were very different...They were also at their peak long before the wars, late 1800s.. Billy kimber who died in series one is actually the guy who took the Peaky blinders down,,.In real history he became a very powerful gang leader, who would go onto legitimise his corrupt businesses.
