I've WORSHIPPED every In Flames album (I started listening to them at Whoracle, listened to their back catalog then they became my 2nd favorite metal band) up until that one after "Where the Dead Ships Dwell." They lost me after that
I've been an In Flames fan since the late 90s and I would say that Siren Charms and Battles are my least favorite IF albums. Without going on a full rant, both of those albums are giant departures from their usual core sound by comparison. You could argue that they totally switched gears back in 2002 with Reroute, but IF still have a certain signature to their songwriting on most of their records, even on other post Jesper albums like I, the Mask and Foregone. Siren Charms and Battles were just too "out there" for me compared to literally everything else they've done. haha
Awesome video guys, great pick Tom! I actually got sent this album in a VCLT from Metal Marty Mac last year, and I didn't like it at all! Honestly I couldn't get through the whole thing, after 4 or 5 songs I had to skip through songs and then switched it off. I didn't like the vocals, the popy choruses really took me out of it. There were some alright Metalcore style riffs and decent solos here and there, but the song structures were so formulaic and popy, just terrible! Not a good first impression of this band for me, early stuff is where it's at I'm sure! 🤘🤘
@@hectorThechilldudeonacouch yeah man, it really didn't paint a good picture of the band for me. Even the new album I heard a single from it and didn't do much for me. But I do know the first few albums are worth my time and I will check them out at some point 😊🤘
@@JoshKeech Thanks dude! Yeah their early stuff is fantastic. I would recommend checking out any of their first 5 albums. Maybe start with Colony or Clayman?
@@thegreenman4925 you're welcome mate! Yeah man I do wanna give their early stuff a go, thanks for the reccomendations! I probably only need the first 5 albums you'd say?
Great collab, enjoyed guesting again. Will be looking out for JC's tier list when it comes 🤘
Yeah me too

Have you listened to their new one?

Not best album to start with In Flames

@@JoshKeech I think those are the best/the classics. Reroute to remain, STYE and Come Clarity are pretty solid too.
I, the Mask was way worse!
I say equally bad.
