I don't see her make up-I only see her beautiful crystal blue eyes! Thanks for including us mature ladies. We are still glamour girlies and love learning from the master Gabi! I am 62 & proud of it. Not a day goes by that I don't play with my make up.
Hi Gabi. Yes, I do my make up almost identical to how you did hers nearly everyday. I'm 69, and putting on a full face is like a daily meditation for me. It's art! It's creative! It's just so fun for me, so I do it. I do take breaks and just wear my skincare a few days a week, but I feel my best self with the whole enchilada! In fact, I keep trying to glam down and I can't seem to do it! My hooded eyes call for a darker crease and it just goes from there everytime. I can't remember your model's name, but she looked fantastic!
I am sixty seven and yes It is not a chore to put on make up and I won't quit unless I am like my poor mother in law who up until she was eight six never ever did not have herself dressed nicely and hair and make up done. She did hair until eight five. She has dementia now.
Shelley, you described it perfectly! I am 70 and sitting at my dressing table, applying my makeup is the most relaxing part of my day. I do it for me, even if I don’t have any particular plans for the day.
I would love to see the 2 follow up videos you mentioned! I am 70 and still enjoy using makeup every single day. I’m currently into peaches and pinks because it makes my blue eyes really stand out. A group of my age-ish women at church asked if I would take them shopping because they think I look more youthful than they do. I told them on the spot here were my tips: stand up straight, buy a decent supportive bra, color their hair (I know, I know - that will be controversial!), and wear at least a little makeup. They all just have what Clinton Kelley on What Not to Wear used to call the “I gave up” look…washed out and a bit defeated. At 70 I feel empowered to speak my mind finally!
@@ritastutler1470hugs to your lovely M I L❤. I do my makeup full face every day even if I'm not going anywhere. I do it for me@ 70😂. Just like getting dressed!
When I was in my 20s I didn't wear eye shadow on the daily. Now that I'm 61 I always wear eyeshadow. A good crease color is a must for my sagging hooded eyes. I've never done a smokey eye but only b/c I've felt ill equipped until now. I would love to see the foundation and lash videos you mentioned. Also, thank you for sharing the products you used to create this look!!! ❤
Thank you for watching you beautiful, strong and powerful women! As promised, I made a PART 2 for you going into detail about SKIN makeup (including contour) for women 50+: ruclips.net/video/OFEfl8wZLFQ/видео.html Let me know if you feel comfortable wearing these more dramatic looks as you get older. Why? Or why not? Let's have a conversation about it here in the comments! If you want a daily dose of glam-spiration, follow me on instagram because I am very active on that platform: instagram.com/glamgirlgabi/
Thank you Gabi for your unrestrained sharing of knowledge on beauty and make- up. I would love a video on sticking on those individual eyelashed without fear of them hanging or falling of during the day!
Im 68, and going silver hair. Keep your tutorials coming! At 68, i want to stay current and be bold with eye pops. Please critique facial hair razor products, if you havent already? Definitely tutorials in different eyelashes: magnetic vs. glue, how to select style? You’re the best!
I love your videos and am feeling shy about bolder makeup now that I’m in my 60’s. I was always the glam girl in my younger years but now I feel like I’m overdoing it for some reason. I don’t want to look like a clown. I used to have dark hair and that was a nice balance to glam makeup but I’m going gray and starting to wear wigs of lighter color due to alopecia. The pigmentation of my skin has changed and I have darker under eyes and eye lids than I used to. I want to look hydrated, fresh and modern. Not chalky, tired and 80’s makeup.
Love your videos. Started using Rose Glow Primer thanks to a video of yours. Fab job of this ladies eyes. I struggle to get my makeup to look like that as I have hooded eyes and 58. I use quite a large fluffy brush for my crease not sure if that's right. I also find my eyeshadow isn't pigmented enough. What brushes do you recommend for eyeshadow applications. I find when I use eyeshadow on my lower lash line it doesn't show up much
@@mandylavery4558 Hey Mandy! It could be an issue with the shadow you're using. You may not be getting enough pigment payoff. Which shadow brand are you using?
as I got older I felt invisible at 73. Started re-learning makeup application, went to Ulta, bought 25 fun things to play with and have never felt better! Love using skin prep, eye and lip primers, Laguna bronzer and many bright lipstick colors. Really enjoy the application process. A nice boost for my confidence....always enjoy looking my best. Your videos are fabulous. You are lovely....thanks for sharing. :)
Thanks for doing these videos, Gabi. I love each one you've done. It's wonderful to not be forgotten and for someone (you) to address the women who are not in their 20's-40's, who continue loving make up application. It's just such a wonderful thing that you're doing for us. I love wearing make up and I do it for me, and don't care what anyone else judges. We get to do what we wish (that's not illegal or morally unjustifiable) in this lifetime. Yes, please make the video on individual lash application. The model looks gorgeous. So do you, as always. As to your last question, I think I was bothered in my 50-s-60's when someone would comment as to the amount of make up I used. Someone even said that 'There's something wrong with a woman who goes out of her house with full make up at 8 in the morning. There's something wrong with her (meaning me).' That was a turning point for me. I menatally noted that I've applied it for me, not her or anyone else and I think I'll continue with that attitude. I don't judge other women, rather, I support their choices, whatever they may be.
I am so happy to hear that they resonate with you and that you enjoy them! Makeup is our super power and it can be such a beautiful way to enhance and celebrate our own unique femininity. Beauty is ageless and if we're lucky, we will all eventually get there too. I HATE that this age group is underrepresented in the beauty industry.
Dear Gabi You are such a blessing to us women. I use to be a hairdresder and I love doing hairc& make-up! I had twin boys and I always kept their hair! I see you as my friend and thank God for you! My husband tells me to wear make-up because it makes me look younger. The Bibke talks about Esther and how she did months of beauty treatments & she won the favor of the king. He chose her not just for her beauty, but she was a blessing to to the other women and she had a gift of hospitality! We all must-see our gifts to help others! You are doing a great job doing this! May God bless you tremendously! Lots of❤ Your friend Frances
She looks BEAUTIFUL! So sophisticated and classy. Yes, I'd love a part 2, and even a longer version of the eye makeup. I'm 56 and don't feel confident wearing more glam looks. Not sure why. But learning good techniques for mature gals (like in this video) helps me a ton.
Gabi, I love your videos directed toward we more “seasoned” women! I wear glasses and have a strong correction that makes my eyes look small, so I’ve had to radically adjust my eye makeup from my younger days wearing contacts. Your tips about wearing light on the lid, etc. in your “over 60” video were spot on! 🎉 Thank you for spending so much energy on those of us that are older but refuse to give up on how we present ourselves to the world!❤
Me too! My nearsighted vision is 20-600!!! I used to wear contacts until my reading vision got so bad that I had to switch back to glasses and wear progressive lenses. I joke with my optometrist that he secretly sends my prescription to JPL! Regarding makeup, this presents two challenges: 1) how to make my eyes stand out better, and 2) how to see what I am doing because I have to do a lot of makeup application with my glasses off, and I can’t see jack!
@@carachow007 I was given a pair of glasses that have the earpieces and the bottom halves of the frames and one lens that is connected at the bridge. The lens can flip from one side to the other, so you can be looking through the magnifying lens with one eye while having access to the other eye for makeup application. (I live in California, and my girlfriend got them from a store that had "Upscale novelty gifts", but she doesn't think the store is still in business.) Your prescripton is pretty extreme, but if you came up with a set of half-frames I'll bet your Optometrist could have a lens made that could be flipped. Good luck!
I wear mono vision contact lenses which is where one lens is for reading and the other for distance, maybe this will help you but I have been told that they now have bifocal contact lenses so I will be seeing me eye doctor about that. Hope this helps @@carachow007
Definitely do a part 2, please! As a 73 year old I find I'm going a bit heavier on the eye makeup (carefully) because they seem to be fading away. I think there is a balance between going light on makeup to be fresher and adding enough to look alive!!! I don't think nude lips serve us as we get older either!!
I agree with you completely. Nude lips can be very unflattering on more mature faces. Bringing colour into the lips and cheeks are easy ways to make your face look SO radiant in a completely natural way. It's quick and VERY effective.
I agree. Since my hair has become more silver, I have less contrast with my skin. My skin has lost some of its color and it makes such a huge difference to wear makeup! Always loved and always will. Smoky eye has always been one of my favs and I am almost 68.
I so agree with you. I tried gloss, lighter lipstick, but I look sick I need a stronger lip and I need make up. I just don’t feel as much me without it.
@@ritastutler1470 I agree-- it is better to recognize the "old" me or rather than more vibrant younger me :) I have to tell myself that it is okay to wear makeup and not vain even though I have friends that do not.
Gabi! First, I would love to see the base segment of the this video. Second, I discovered your channel several months ago and I truly enjoy all the information, demos and conversations you share with your followers. I know this has to be very time consuming. Thank you. Lastly, you mentioned in one of your videos awhile back that people are critical of you for various reasons. I want to encourage you. You are beautiful, enjoyable to listen to and very knowledgeable. Try not to let the little minded people overpower the people that see and appreciate your talent. 😊❤🌸
What a sweet and thoughtful comment. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave it. You have no idea how much that means to me. I will start working on the second video that goes into detail about base application. It's a question I often get asked and it's much more simple than you would think.
Hi Gabi, I love your videos for 50+ (today is my 63rd birthday!). I'm answering your question at the end. For me, I have been wearing less makeup over the years because I feel like the older I get, the harsher makeup looks on me. And the thing is, I keep buying makeup because I love makeup, so I try for a softer look these days. I rarely wear mascara anymore (although when I do, I prefer brown), but I still like to wear eyeliner and a tinted moisturizer to even out skin tone (I love Tarte brand). And I think I'll forever be searching for the perfect lip color! I definitely feel better when I wear makeup, so I really appreciate your tips and tricks for applying makeup 50+. The hardest part for me is getting everything "balanced" as you stressed in your video. As for society, I don't give a whole lot of thought as to what anyone thinks of my makeup or lack thereof: I wear it for ME. Thank you for your informational, inspirational, and FUN videos! 🌼
Thank you so much for taking the time to answer the question I asked. It really helps me to understand you guys so that I can make better content for you. For my next tutorial, I am going to show you how I apply a really natural and radiant makeup. A 10 minute face that helps you feel polished but gets you out the door quick. It will be more relatable to more people.
Wonderful makeup application Gabi! I'm 83 and wear smoky eye and full face of makeup every single day. It lifts my spirits, and my handsome partner seems to like the finished look as well. I don't pay any attention at all to "age appropriate" and it's helping me stay young, both physically and mentally. Bring on the black leather outfits, combat boots and red lips. Thanks Gabby for your wonderful videos. I'm a new subscriber.
I absolutely LOVE that for you and I think I’ll likely be the exact same way!!! Enjoy your life girlfriend. You have one life to live and you better celebrate and decorate it! Sending a hug your way.
You inspire me Carol. I'm with you... If we don't do what we want with our hair, makeup and fashions now, then what are we waiting for? We deserve this time... Have some fun and take care of ourselves... You rock!
@@nancydann1332 Thank you Nancy. When I turned 80 I decided that I could do whatever I wanted to with regard to fashion and makeup. So much fun! I trust that you are all on board for the same kind of experience. Enjoy every minute of it!
As I get older (mid 50's), I definitely feel less is more. I like creating the no makeup look with good skin prep, primer, and tinted sunscreen. Next, a light swipe of Bare Minerals Foundation, bronzer, mascara, and lip lip gloss. That's my go-to look because anything more accents wrinkles and looks like I'm trying too hard.
I love wearing makeup and I think you have done a very good job encouraging women over 50 and 60 and beyond to bring out their best. I always want to look full of life and you have blessed me to help us women to bring our face to true beauty from the inside out at this stage of our lives. Thank you so much It is an art that we women should continue to use to be our best and to feel more confident. I have told a lot of women about your comment "There are no set rules on how you should decorate yourself." You are such an inspiration to the over 50 women--Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I would appreciate more "how to" you tubes to do my makeup better.
I love this look-she looks stunning! I love to wear makeup but I don’t like to look like I put too too much on! This lady looks so natural not too “made up”! That’s how I like to look too. Ty and I’d love to watch a video on lashes and their application! Love your vids Gabi! ❤
Thank you for all you do! You are definitely a master artist! I was in an abusive marriage for 24 years and wasn't allowed to wear much makeup. I've been out of that situation for 15 years and am still learning to love myself and make myself a priority, which should be easy because I live alone, but overcoming mental, physical, financial and sexual abuse is extremely challenging but I'm finally making progress. I just subscribed to your channel and look forward to learning from you! Blessings to all in love and light!🙏🏼💜🙏🏼💙🙏🏼💚🙏🏼🧡🙏🏼💛🙏🏼
Hi Gabi!! Yes please would you do a tutorial on adding the individual lashes? I’d love to try that. I’m 53 and still love wearing dramatic looks sometimes. Whenever I’m going somewhere and I do my Smokey eye I feel so ready to take on the world!
I am 53 and when I do not have eyeliner on and my signature Smokey eye, I get asked if I am okay or “you look tired” makeup makes me feel put together no matter the day. Thank you for all your videos!❤
I'm interested in both follow-up video ideas.. I rarely wear makeup. By now (I'm 68 yrs old), I am used to blending into the background. However, there are times when I like dress up & look good. I have high cheek bones & volume loss in the tear track. Even when rested, I look tired with under eye puffiness. I'm very interested in the application of individual lashes to open up the eye & make it pop, yet have a natural appearance. Thank you for addressing makeup for older women. We are so often overlooked.
As a 70’s girl I love this video. I love wearing make up and as another commenter pointed out, I find it very relaxing and makes me feel better about myself. Yes please do a tutorial on the individual false eyelashes. I have never worn them and would love to try I feel a bit intimidated about putting them on correctly so looking forward to a tutorial on this. Thank you for focusing on my age group.❤
LOVE this! She is stunningly beautiful--and you enhanced her so well. I am 63, and I have modeled for about 25 years. I have a serious chronic disease, but am stable. I would love to wear make top again, and love the glam styles, I just don't know how to do it. Blessings to you for your beauty, wisdom and knowledge that you share so generously. You have integrity and you're the real deal!
Would love to see both the whole face (foundation, concealer, blush, etc as well as the lashes. I’ve been wanting to try lashes but am apprehensive. Thanks so much for doing these videos, I learn a lot! 💕
Hey Gabi, I love that you put links to everything you use in the video. I've watched other people's tutorials where they mention (once) what they're using, and don't even show in the video a clear shot of the product, and NEVER put a link in the description. It's a lot of extra work, I know, to do that so I just wanted to let you know that it is appreciated. Also appreciated is the fact that you fully display it onscreen (for more than a millesecond), because if I want to buy something I take a snapshot of the screen, then I have it on my phone so I can find it when I go into the store. I love your channel.
Oh my gosh what a wonderful message to read. Thank you so much for taking the time to send that. That really does mean the world to me. It makes me so happy to know that the videos help people in some way.
Absolutely fabulous Gabi ❤ give us a part 2 ❤ you know I just love how I look with more natural make up ( I am former make up artist having worked with lines such as Chanel, Lancôme and Clinique) I have done all the dramatic stuff and it is fine from time to time. It has nothing to do with age ❤
It's funny that you say that because I have never felt more beautiful with super natural makeup than I do this year as well. The trend for 2023 is VERY fresh face and I am LOVING it. For my next tutorial, I will show you guys how to do a gorgeous fresh face for the summer on myself. All you really need is that lifted full eyelash, glowy radiant skin, flushed cheek, glossy lip, etc. It's so so flattering.
Love to see a part 2 as well. I'm about to turn 59 and especially in the last year or so. I do my makeup to please me. I don't care about what anybody else thinks. So sometimes that's dramatic. Sometimes that's more subdued. Do you wear glasses? So any tips or tricks that you can share for glasses that would be awesome. Really enjoying your channel and all of your tips and tricks.
This really is a lovely look. I'm getting ready for my son's wedding next month, and it irks me to see tutorial for older won that haveno color on the eyes. I love makeup! It makes me feel pretty and put together. Eyeshadow and blush are the most fun! There is just no way I will listen to someone telling me I'm too old for it. I'm 65 in July, and I wish I could send you a picture on my latest look!
This is SUCH old school thinking. Being 65, 75, or 85 does not make you less of a woman (actually it kind of makes you even more of a woman!) Enjoy your beautiful face and all the changes that come with it and decorate it! Congratulations on your son's wedding! I hope that you feel so beautiful and truly enjoy such an important and magical day. My boys are 5 and 8 and I already get tears in my eyes thinking of them getting married one day. Life happens too quickly.
I like doing my eyes at 73 because if I don’t I get asked “Are you Okay?” Or “Gosh you look tired!” I don’t do falsies or smokey eye but like to tight line and do mascara on the regular. Also, I cover the lid with shadow depending on my mood. I would love to see part 2. Thank you for including us in the fun. We may be getting older but still love to look nice routinely.
Why oh why do people want to tell us we look tired?? I can come into work feeling fine and then my boss says "oh no you look like you don't feel good" Why Why Why??
Gabi, I love your videos. Thank you for keeping it real and embracing glamor education for mature women. I'm 59 years old and find myself wearing less makeup than I did in my 40s. "LESS IS MORE" is my motto. I find that more makeup makes me look older, and who wants that? 😮
You did an amazing job wow! Looks fantastic! I'm coming up on 75 in a couple of months. Everything about this video was great, and explained so well by you and how older skin gets. Thank you for being a young person and understanding! And to answer your question, as an older woman I do feel that I can't wear certain colors. Because of society nowadays. However I do feel we should be able to wear whatever makes us feel beautiful. Thank you for making such a wonderful video! I truly loved it for us older women! Hope you're having a wonderful weekend! ❤️🌹
I love trying new looks. Being 63yrs. doesn’t stop me from trying new make-up. I’m much better at applying makeup now then when I was younger. I’m more confident.
Love this! I love dramatic looks..and soft looks too just depends on the days events. Together makeup looks make me feel like I care about myself and also let’s others know I am putting my best efforts into how I present myself. Thank you for the ideas and info! 👗💋🩷💄👄👠🧤👒👑
Would love to see part 2. I'm 61 and I do not feel constrained in any way by my age or what anyone but me thinks about my hair, makeup, or fashion. I dress and do a look that makes me feel confident and happy. Love your tips and advice!
I love that for you Lois! We have to do whatever makes us feel amazing. Taking the time for self care and self love is so important in our celebration of life.
Brilliant! Learned so much today..I'm 63 and if I could Ild wear glitter everything for all my everyday needs 😂.She looks fabulous..Love love for you to do my makeup someday..My undereye blue black anemia eye bags are such an issue I gave up on smoky eyes and really miss those days of deep eye liner. Will have to try the L'Oreal age eraser cover-up...I like L'Oreal entire line of products..The moisturiser on the Qtip was the Bomb! I find the Younger generation are super keen and knowledgeable on what's out there with current makeup techniques and can help Us seasoned Babes still look our Best..TY..
She has seriously GORGEOUS SKIN. I have a spot on my website where models can apply to be on the channel and when she applied, I gasped. Her features are absolute perfection. What a gorgeous woman.
I just recently found your videos and am already a fan. I’m 72 and appreciate your attention to the “mature” audience. My skin has changed over the years but I can honestly say thanks to the products we have access to, I still love doing my makeup. Your tutorials have great tips and I’ll continue to watch and learn. ❤
Yes I’ve noticed at 65. I find wearing more eyeshadow more make up but done the way that you shown is more thrilling and more secure feeling at my age. Then, when I was younger people are less too criticize you as you get older than they are, when you are younger, knowing at the same time that you have chosen what you feel is best for you and done and applied correctly. It’s it’s fun it’s it’s exciting it’s and it causes you to feel more confident about your age causes you to smile more as long as you have it, advice or someone you can listen to or watch learn makes you feel more confident about your age, therefore making you smile. That deserves a thank you!
Hi, Gabi. I have just recently found you. You are a transformation artist! And so fun to watch. You asked women to chime in on the glam look for older women. I just turned 60 and really enjoy cosmetics and skincare. But I find that I work pretty meticulously to look as NATURAL as I can. I like a full lip, usually in a blue red or pink, a lined eye and mascara, foundation and concealer that I blend to no end, neutral eyeshadow, a bronzer and cream blush. Sometimes I add a little to eyebrows, but I dye them so they are mostly fine. I spend about as much time prepping my skin as putting on makeup, due to it being very dry. I might like the glam look for a special occasion, but not on a regular basis. (I just ordered the IT Cosmetics cc cream...just before I saw your videos, so I can't wait to get it!) Anyway, your mom looked GORGEOUS when you did her makeup... it looked so great on her! But that much on my pale, freckled skin would be over done I think. :) I love what you say about color correcting and concealer and look forward to applying your methods. Thank you! (You are also beautiful and your makeup looks put together without being over the top.)
Hi Gabi. It was awesome meeting you in Portland! Being 57 myself, sometimes I feel uncomfortable wearing strong makeup looks because other women I associate with in my community usually wear minimal makeup and I feel overdone by comparison. My mother wore the same makeup look for every day as well as special occasions. I suspect that is what a lot of women do (especially as we get older). However I yearn to see more of the mature women jazz things up with their hair and makeup! You give awesome tutorials for us so please keep it up!
Rochelle!!! It’s so nice to see you on the comments section. I was telling Summer that I wish I got a chance to chat with you more because I found you to be such a lovely and warm person. That day was an absolute whirlwind for me. I was an absolute basket case of nerves! I can understand feeling uncomfortable when other women around you aren’t doing it. I will be showing many more tutorials within the next week and some looks will be much less effort and more natural. Stay tuned for that!
I had my eyelids operated on this week but when I’m healed I will try your video. Love it. Kept looking at your lipstick. I love it . Can you tell me where and how to get that shade?
I loved more make-up as a teen, and in my 20s, I was a busy Mom in my 30s so who had time for it, hitting my 40s to 50s depending on what I was doing. But now that I have hit my mid-60s I am all for trying new make-up and enhancing what I still have! lol You give great tips and tricks and it is fun to play along so thanks for that Gabi. I'm moving through life with my best face forward. 😉
I'm so happy to hear that Debra! It really brings me so much joy when I read that people have found the time and love for makeup again after such a busy time. I am in that busy time now with two young kids (5 and 8) and I only feel like I am starting to get myself back now. When you are a caretaker, you give so much that you forget a bit of who you are. I wouldn't have it any other way but it's nice to have both too. I love my kids and I also love having a little time for me.
Thanks Gabi! Yes on all the follow up videos please. I'm 48 so I'm really loving this content to prepare for the next coming years. To answer your question about the dramatic face paint, I stopped wearing much daily makeup throughout my 30's and 40's because my lifestyle as homemaker with kids, it felt that it was more work putting on and taking it off that it was worth and mascara and eye makeup always seemed to end up sliding under my eyes. I also became a lot more mindful about the chemicals in makeup, so I became more of a makeup minimalist and opted for less but better-quality makeup lines but...your videos are inspiring and teaching me to take back my glam.
I love this comment! I am so happy to hear that I am inspiring you to take back your glam! Yes Queen! Makeup should be fun and uplifting and not work. It is a time for self care and even quiet reflection. If it causes stress, it's not being done properly.
Lovely! I find there are fewer opportunities for this much makeup now that I am not at work/work functions anymore. Occasionally I will just for fun, however more often find myself going more subtle but mostly because it’s quicker! Would love to see part 2 on this look
I am going to film a really natural summer look ASAP. I know how much we all love that quick and flawless 5 minute face. Super natural makeup is very trendy in 2023 as well and I am not mad about it at all. I think it's stunning and let's the woman's beauty really shine through.
Hi Gabi...very inspiring video! Thank you. I'm 56 and I've noticed the more makeup I use, the more tired looking I look. I'm sure it's because I'm doing it wrong, but when I take it off at the end of the day, my face brightens up and I think I appear more refreshed and younger. I typically only wear concealer & foundation to even out my skin tone and I line my upper eye lids with brown or blue eyeliner. Then a tinted lip balm. Any more than that and I look weighed down and tired. I'm going to a wedding in a couple weeks and I'd like to wear a bit more makeup than usual, but I'm afraid to mess up. I will practice this smokey eye you demonstrate here.
Gabi, love the tutorial and the honest helpful tips (& fears). Please do a tutorial on how to do individual lashes on yourself! 52 and still LOVE dramatic looks on my eyes; enjoy the playing with makeup experience!❤🔥🤩🌺
Thank you for this helpful eye makeup video ! You did a great job with the makeup and instructions! I am proud of my age and appreciate the beauty in getting older so I like a more natural and healthy look. With that said I always enjoy learning and watching your videos! Thank you😁 love and light❤️✌️
Lots to say. 1. Once I found gentle skin care & started committing to a mature skin care routine, I started to enjoy wearing makeup again. 2. Regarding a dramatic look: only if I use a light hand. I will use “all the things” but I am so careful not to use a lot of anything. Usually, the result is fantastic and I look so vibrant, younger & more awake. 3. Your hands & nails are so beautiful. Would love to know how you care for your hands, the shape of your nails & what your nail care involves. Thank you.
Thank you for such a thoughtful message. Everything you are doing is SPOT ON. Everything starts in the prep skincare stage (EVERYTHING). Your makeup will only look as good as the skin that its put on. I am going to be doing a video on skincare very shortly so stay tuned for that. It's funny you say that about my hands because I have always been so self conscious of them. I have HUGE hands. They are soooo long! hahaha. In this video, I actually just have press on nails by Impress. I really love how they turned out, it took me 10 minutes to put them on and lasted me 7 whole days!
@@GlamGirlGabi Thank you for the press-on nail info! I do a ton of gardening & lawn work, so this is super helpful to me. Your hands are truly beautiful.
Hi Gabi! Yes, I'd like to see the base foundation techniques. Seems like no matter how well I prep and apply my make-up, it just doesn't last. I've tried so many products and tips, I'm thinking it's just my skin. :-( I also have trouble with my face perspiring which is a nightmare for face make-up. But here, you've made her skin look so polished, youthful and dewy. She looks lovely! I am 59, and feel most confident when I've done some make-up...loving a golden beige eye crayon for fast eye looks. I find that a lighter top liner, vs a darker one actually seems to open up my deep set eyes even more? Sound about right? Would love some tips on applying and wearing a full-on wing liner for deep set eyes. Thanks for being so warm, gracious and genuine! Enjoy your channel very much!
Hi Gabi! First and foremost I love your hair curly woohoo!! You’re representing us curly ladies beautifully it’s so pretty on you! Love this look on your model she looked stunning. Have a blessed weekend 🌺🌸🌷
Thanks Maria! I am doing a tutorial to show how I get my curly hair very shortly! I have some updated techniques, new products, etc. Stay tuned for that.
Hi from Australia I'm 67 and look a bit like this lady I would live to po perfect this look and especially to wear some small false lashes why, because You never stop wanting to look glam, to look beautiful, and well done make up is such a transformation, just like you never tire of re decorating your home thank you, Sue transformation
Hi Gabi your model looks beautiful before and after. I've always preferred to do a smoky eye as opposed to a really natural looking one, no matter which colour I used, simply because I really like my eye colour to stand out more, you know my very favourite Hollywood film actress was Sophia Loren and I always loved the way she made her eyes up and that was the first part of her face that caught my attention, your eyes will always show every emotion. Thank You 🌟
I just tried your smoky eye look. I’ve been very reluctant because I’m over 60 and I do have some hooding now with just extra skin on my upper lid. However, after applying this look, I am amazed at how I camouflaged the extra puffier skin in the creases near my nose, drew attention away by adding darker to my lid, and it totally made me look younger. I tried lately using lighter colors on those areas on upper eyelid and close to my nose, and it accentuated and made me look a lot older!! So now I understand the smoky eye, and will be using it for my professional look as a real estate broker & evening!! I’m sold! Thank you!
Hi Gabi! I love the transformation! I do not wear a lot of eyeshadow on a daily basis. I think I look better and more youthful with a lighter touch. I think the more dramatic shadows make me look tired and emphasize the wrinkles. I use a rose colored blush as eye shadow in the creases of my eyes with mascara and finish with a pop of pink gloss. I would love a tutorial on eyelashes.
Hello Gabi 😊I really enjoyed this makeup tutorial because of how you balanced the whole look. You made a great point of letting us know that when you do smoky eye it might look like too much but showed us tips to pull it off. Thanks so much. I’m 48 years old and seen my eyes get more hollows and sparse eyelashes . Proud to say that false eyelashes and smoky eye do make difference in my confidence. Thanks Gabi💕
Will do! I will write the video idea down so I can get that done for you guys as soon as possible. Lashes if worn improperly can cause damage for sure. I will make a tutorial about this and explain all of the ins and outs including this common concern.
I'm rediscovering makeup in my mid 50s. My go-to evening/formal events look now is a dramatic smokey eye with false lashes (with lipstick to vibe with the outfit). I've since tried a dark emerald green smokey eye, a gray and a brown/copper look. I do a rose/pink/nude smokey eye for daytime events. The months of lockdown gave me endless playtime to watch RUclips tutorials and buy cosmetics online. Thank you to all makeup RUclipsrs out there!! I love learning new looks and techniques every day.
Love to see part 2. Struggle with gluing lashes on is real!!! My placement and them staying on all day or for the evening is what I need help with. I do feel comfy wearing a smokey eye as I am older. Night time I probably would be a bit darker than a daytime look for everyday. I find blending is key. Thanks for being here. I love and look forward to every video you work hard to post. ❤
Hi Gabi, thanks for a great tutorial. I would definitely wear this look for a special occasion or for pictures. I love playing up my eyes as I feel they are my best feature on my face. Love a Smokey eye. Your model looks fabulous. Great tips about the stages and not getting scared. Super helpful. 🙏🥰
I always watch your tutorials, but I do not like the amount of makeup you use. This woman’s eye wrinkles stood out more after the makeup application. They were hardly noticeable at all without makeup. I’m 64 and I have very good skin, few wrinkles, no dark spots EXCEPT for dark circles under my eyes. I find the less makeup I use, the better I look. Piling on makeup accentuates age. Less is more in my book.
I think the makeup made her look beautiful. At some point it’s not about covering wrinkles, it’s about making what you have look great. Gabby did that with this beautiful women!
I feel very comfortable/confident wearing bold makeup, bc I have learned to apply it well, thanks 100% to watching YT vids. yes, a contouring vid would be great!
Wearing a very dramatic look when I’m in the supermarket or Target seems absurd. So much time invested for every day doesn’t seem like a good use to time. I also think older women wearing false eyelashes makes them seem as if they are trying too hard to be young. And false eyelashes on older women often look clownish even when subtle. FYI I’m over 75 and still do wear eye makeup and find it a real psychological and energy boost.
I love to try different looks even at 66 and want to try to look the best I can anytime I go out the door. So why not try something new when going shopping? You see ladies dressed up and down at any store… plus I’ve always hated my naturally kinky frizzy hair so now I wear casual style wigs. Much easier to get ready and a self image booster… and when ya are losing it all in the “golden” years- go for it!
I strongly disagree. I think false eyelashes can give a youthful glamorous appearance. Eyes are one of the first thing that ages us. Watch Sassy Gran. She was in her 90s & she looked stunning for her age, so does her daughter who is in her 70s. I prefer the individual lashes over the strips, I think some of the strips look clownish regardless of age. Most importantly women need to do what makes them feel beautiful, and not be influenced by some nasty comment.
I haven’t worn makeup for several years. Watching you and Nikki I decided to start again. I love the Smokey look but have attempted it yet. Thank you for sharing this video.
I just now discovered you and will follow your excellent intelligent energy. I was a model / dancer 50 years ago and got good makeup tricks and body discipline that pay off now at 70. When i take " care " of myself, i see my beauty in others eyes or do they see my inner beauty because i feel great ?!! Thanxxxx for being you and sharing.
I want to see anything you can share for us mature women! I struggle just find affordable products that actually look good on my skin! Thanks for the tutorial-keep them coming!❤
Thank you for finally showing me HOW to use a palette. Ive always picked colors close to a tutorial demo colors but didnt know WHY. Ive also always picked colors I liked but couldnt understand why they didnt always work when I was trying to match an outfit. I also loved your video on eye color. You have helped me TREMENDOUSLY in finally learning about my palettes, eye color and how to use everything now that Im over 50. NOW it makes sense why my old routines dont work anymore. YOURE AN AMAZING TEACHER!!!
I'm over 60 yo (gray hair/dark eyes/medium olive skin tone) and I enjoy a dramatic look for special occasions and evenings. I love a red bold lip. I also enjoy natural looks for day to day. I want to look my best at any age. I enjoy your videos to make sure I stay up-to-date on the best techniques and products for applying makeup. Thanks for the tips.
I LOVE A RED LIP! I think it is SUCH a sophisticated and stunning look for anyone of any age! Actually - you inspired me to create a tutorial for that. I would love to show a dewey skin with a beautiful pop of red on the lips.
Hi Gabi Love your videos. Please do a full makeup for women over 50. I’m 63 and people are always shocked when I say that. The makeup (well applied) makes me look so much younger
Yes I think it makes us our best self no matter what age I’m 67 & makeup makes me more confident when I go out I feel more beautiful for my family “ husband children & grandchildren… my children wear beautiful makeup & now my 16 & 15 G/Daughters wear light makeup that make them lovely & sweet & not over done…thank you for the beautiful way you teach us & care about us❣️
What a sweet message. I am so happy that makeup gives you the same power that it gives me. It truly makes me feel like my best self. I don't use it to hide behind. I use it to enhance. I bet your granddaughters are very thankful to have such a lovely grandmother with such a great outlook on things. Thank you for taking the time to leave me a comment.
Thank you Gabby for your text & Yes definitely want part 2… & love these makeup styles & try my best to copy you & I love to have these colours as I wear what I like “ my style” & don’t worry if someone thinks it’s too young for my age!!! And I think gone are the days ( my mums era ) that when you hit 40 it’s time for a perm & old style dress❣️Thanks for the encouragement from you to be our best self😊
I have learned so much from you. I have only been following your channel for a short time. Wonderful videos! Love your vibe and your tutorials are fantastic! Your models are absolutely gorgeous. Thank you🎉
Yes, I would love to see a part 2 of the video showing the details of the base makeup, as well as a separate video teaching us how to apply the cluster lashes. That has been a struggle of mine 😢
Thank you for for your kind words on aging women! I’m 70 and just now started to take care of my skin. I’ve always worn makeup but now it is harder to apply as my pores are larger, many more lines and wrinkles and the makeup makes me look worse. I’ve never worn primer and very little powder but order some today. I look forward to more video on mature skin.
Yes, she does look stunning! Sometimes I do worry that "people" will think I am trying too hard when I wear full makeup (with eyeshadow.) Gabi, I'd love for you to do a video on contouring the nose. Mine is rather wide, and it is challenging to not look like I have an obviously shaded in my nose. Thanks!
Just found you online and so appreciate that you are doing makeup for mature women. I LOVE everything about being a woman...makeup, clothes, shoes, jewelry. At 66 I still feel like I have not found my "perfect" makeup look, although I think for the most part I do a pretty good job. I don't want to look like I'm trying to be 20, because I'm not, but I struggle sometimes with knowing how much is too much, if that makes sense. I want to look stylish, fresh, and youthful, not young. I do think society sometimes expects mature women to look frumpy, and I'm never going to be that. A friend recently made a general comment about women always trying to look such and such, and I figured she was referring to me. I like to be all done up when I go out, and she pretty much never does anything as far as makeup or hair. I let her know (even if she was or wasn't referring to me) that I don't do it to impress anyone or feel like I have to, but that I LIKE to always put my best foot forward when I'm out in public, and I do it because it makes ME feel better about myself and makes me feel more confident. I do have my days where I like to give my skin a break and just pamper it with serums, moisturizers, etc. I also like to do organic as much as possible. Thank you for asking this question. My dream would be to sit down with a makeup artist and let them teach me how to apply my makeup the way they do...hint, hint, lol.
This helped me to understand how to perfect the smoky eye for my age group. Ive never been able to find an in depth explanation of how to apply make up for women over 50 much less 60. Look forward to seeing more!
I love wearing a dramatic look. I love to focus on my eyes and make them look bigger! Charlene is gorgeous! I truly appreciate you explaining each step and why you did what you did.
I am sooo happy i found you. I am 54 and i follow so many but you hv taught me more in less time. You are concise and clear. Everytime i have a question, 2 secs later you answer it. I love the look but just didnt know proper technique. Its so hard baecause by the time you master your look in your 30's it all needs to changes as you get older and you hv to relearn! Ty. Do you hv a video for a one eyeshadow look? A one and done?
I do like your makeup tutorials for aging women! I always learn something useful! I really pay attention to the tips for foundation application and eye makeup ! 😊
Hi ! Thank you so much for sharing all your precious tips, it is very clever. I'm a 59 years old French woman and feel that I steel look good without the need of wearing make up. I DO LOVE A SOPHISTICATED LOOK. My concern about more heavy or sophisticated eye looks is that as I age my skin has become more dull and doesn't retain much of the substance and more specifically on the eye area. After I have put on the shadow and mascara , it probably last for 2 hours max and then it melts downwards. I then feel old, tired and dirty. I have a preference for very fine powders and soft nude tones. My favorite smokey is in a shade of soft purple/plum with my kaki-green eyes. You are so right everything is about balance & harmony, like everything dressing, cooking, flavors and spices..... 🙏
You're so informative in your videos, because you not only tell/show us what to do, but you also tell us WHY. I'm a big believer in the concept ideas behind a process, and you give us the big picture for better understanding. As for your question asking if I'm comfortable using your techniques for a smokey eye goes, I LOVE a smokey eye. And I also love that you explain that, that look doesn't have to be solid black, it can go softer too. I am turning 64 in 2 weeks, but I never let my age hold my eyes hostage, because you can just do so much with eye shadows, and I actually love it if my eyes are the main focal pointe, which has always been a challenge for my mostly Korean eyes, given that I was borne with that Asian monolid that I have learned over the years how to cheat my crease up higher. Thank you for your expertise, I learn a lot from you. 💋
Thank you so much for this great video! I have always loved makeup since I was 16 years old. I am now a month away from 61. Since that time, I have never really felt that I was on my game without it. Since age 57, I have noticed rapid changes in my skin. Makeup methods that have always worked seemed to just look sloppy, too flashy or just fade out. It takes me forever to do a look now and I’m always feeling unsure about whether it looks ok. On top of that I feel absolutely dismissed, ignored or un-noticed. I don’t need to be noticed exactly but I would like to feel like I’m put together or look good for my age like I used to. I feel that people treat me as if I’m invisible now. It’s a tough thing to wrap my head around. I’ve spent so much time loving fashion and makeup and now there’s very little joy in it. But I’m actually encouraged that you care enough to do a video for older women. Thank you for recognizing our needs. We’re often overlooked by the beauty industry
I dont know if you made a video on the base ect... But I would love to see one or be directed to it!! I love that your talking about makeup on "mature" skin!! I am 47 and am starting to notice the change!! I'm reaally liking the info!! Thanks!!!
Hi Gabi , this is beautiful you are very talented! I’m 53 and I don’t feel very comfortable wearing much makeup as I’m getting older. It’s because I feel it actually ages me by highlighting wrinkles dryness sagging skin etc I can’t seem to perfect the application techniques for aging skin. What I did in my 20’s 30’s and even 40’s just looks too harsh now. It takes so much more work and it’s frustrating! 😢 God bless you sweetheart.
I’m 52 and I agree! If I were rich I’d have a stylist and a massage therapist on staff!😅Also, I’m very aware that I’m invisible now, so I’m far less inclined to try hard in the makeup department. I’m just happy I don’t have a weight problem!🤷🏻♀️
You are fabulous and I enjoy/appreciate your channel! I never took the time to wear makeup except mascara and lip gloss. Now, at 65, I am playing with makeup for the first time - it's fun and you give the best tips Thank you!!
I don't see her make up-I only see her beautiful crystal blue eyes! Thanks for including us mature ladies. We are still glamour girlies and love learning from the master Gabi! I am 62 & proud of it. Not a day goes by that I don't play with my make up.
Yes, exactly what Donna said 💄 👁️ 👄
Yes! Those area are luminous and just beautiful!!!wow!❤
That's really an amazing transformation. She looks gorgeous. Good job!
As promised, I made a PART 2 for you going into detail about SKIN makeup (including contour) for women 50+: ruclips.net/video/OFEfl8wZLFQ/видео.html
Let me know if you feel comfortable wearing these more dramatic looks as you get older. Why?
@@mariettahenrico You got it! I will make this video for you guys :)
@@Heavenwalk55 These are amazing video suggestions! I will definitely do that for you!
Please give us a stage 2 of this brilliant session❣️
You got it! I will start working on that right away. I can go over the base application in detail as a follow up to this lesson.
Like your model I have marionette lines and would love to know how you made these seem to disappear ?? Loving your videos
I hAve small puffy deep set eyes. Eye makeup is my hell. No matter how many videos I wAtch, I just can't do it😢
Love your videos.
Dear Gabi
You are such a blessing to us women.
Lots of❤
Your friend Frances
(I live in California, and my girlfriend got them from a store that had "Upscale novelty gifts", but she doesn't think the store is still in business.)
Your prescripton is pretty extreme, but if you came up with a set of half-frames I'll bet your Optometrist could have a lens made that could be flipped. Good luck!
@@B30pt87 , wow, that’s a great idea, thanks!
@@carachow007 You might be able to find them online.
I tried gloss, lighter lipstick, but I look sick
I need a stronger lip and I need make up.
Yes, please!! I'd love to see an individual lash cluster video 👀
You got it! There are two ways to apply them: under the lashes and over the lashes. I will show you how to do both.
As I get older I prefer a softer look
I'm going to teach a look just like this one next. Simple, effective and quick. Stay tuned!
There are NO SET RULES sister! Decorate yourself in whichever way makes you feel freaking fabulous! Sending a hug your way.
Oh yes! I used to get this all the time too! And I would always respond with "Not tired or sick at all. This is my natural face" HAHAHA!
Lol I get that too, when I don't wear eye makeup, except in my case it's "Are you okay? You look like you don't feel well " 😂
I'm interested in both follow-up video ideas..
@@GlamGirlGabi I can’t wait!
Yes! We need options, glam, & a more subtle day look as well
This really is a lovely look.
@Glam Girl Gabi you can say that again! Got any recs for a REALLY good waterproof mascara?😉
We may be getting older but still love to look nice routinely.
amen! No I’m not tired, sick, sad.🤨
Me too!
Hi Gabi, love it. Yes I love these dramatic colors. I always say it from someone who lives in chronic pain, ‘if I look good I feel good”❤
Your model has the most gorgeous skin! I loved this, and I'd love to see a part 2 of her base makeup. Beautiful work as always!
Welcome to the channel. Your support means so much to me! I'm glad you are finding the videos helpful!
Yes! I am 59 and I love trying dramatic looks. I appreciated your advice about trusting the process!🌸🌸🌸
I would feel comfortable wearing the smokey eye look.
Your demonstration here was easy to follow and very helpful.
@@GlamGirlGabi Thank you, my friend.
@@GlamGirlGabi please show us how to apply the eyelashes.
Hi from Australia I'm 67 and look a bit like this lady
I would live to po perfect this look and especially to wear some small false lashes
why, because You never stop wanting to look glam, to look beautiful, and well done make up is such a transformation, just like you never tire of re decorating your home thank you, Sue transformation
Thank You 🌟
Yes you're absolutely right. I LOVE a smokey eye on light eyes. I think it is absolutely STUNNING. It makes the eyes look so bright and icy!
I’m sold! Thank you!
I am so happy to hear that!!!! This made my day! Yay!
Fantastic! She looks amazing. Would love to learn how to put on lashes. Is it true though that this can cause your own lashes to fall out over time?
You're absolutely right. Blending is KEY. I will follow up with a part two shortly!
Thank you, Sunday is granny birthday I will use your tips!
At 60, her face is stunningly beautiful.
I'm glad it was helpful!
Whats wrong w a couple of wrinkles?
I think the makeup made her look beautiful. At some point it’s not about covering wrinkles, it’s about making what you have look great. Gabby did that with this beautiful women!
All women should know the basics of how to do their makeup for special occasions, bare natural face isn't great for family pics or wedding guests etc
You have done a beautiful job..she looks amazing ❤
I'm 62. I would definitely do my makeup like this for a date night or evening social event.
@@junefoster924I agree
All that negativity and yet the end sentence is say positive??!!
Thank you for tutorial this is wonderful! I definitely would love to see part 2
I want to see anything you can share for us mature women! I struggle just find affordable products that actually look good on my skin! Thanks for the tutorial-keep them coming!❤
A good eye makeup application is a game changer for not looking over 55! Love it! Thanks
❤❤I love this Smokey eye makeup. She looks younger and beautiful!😮
Thank you🎉
Welcome to the channel and thanks for watching. Your support means a lot to me!
Yes, I would love to see a part 2 of the video showing the details of the base makeup, as well as a separate video teaching us how to apply the cluster lashes. That has been a struggle of mine 😢
She looks fabulous! Lash video please!!
Life changing tip..
On the application of the eyes before the foundation.
The FALL OUT.
Ohhhh.
Thank so much
Thank you for for your kind words on aging women!
Thank you, Gabi! I'm working on learning to do the smokey eye. I had never done it before and your video is very helpful.
Ty. I do like your makeup tutorials for aging women! I always learn something useful! I really pay attention to the tips for foundation application and eye makeup ! 😊
I am comfortable if it'll look nice. I trust the process because of people like you who knows what to do and how to apply the makeup.
I love that you make videos that I need to see Gabi….thank you! Patti. 🌷🍃
Love you Patti!
I would love a complete tutorial from you. You are the first one that breaks it down so I can understand. I will subscribe! Thanks!
Thanks!!!
Love these looks. I am 63 years young (!) And I wear makeup everyday and I love playing with different colours and finishes. I love this look 😊
