This SS86 version is still better. Retooling would've been nice, but I'm really looking forward to getting this figure. And I'm calling it now, SS86 Soundwave will be released in 2026 as part of the 40th anniversary of the animated movie.
I personally think this looks more accurate to how Blaster looked in the show do to him never having part if his chest see-through long how the Kingdom version of Blaster was.
plastic quality does play a factor in yellowing but even then it's not normal for it to happen this fast. Is there any humidity or light excess in your room? Or maybe the plastic has gone through temperature stress. My room get's really really cold during winter no matter what i do, and i'm in constant fear any of my figures will get damaged, brittle or yellowed
I noticed your Kingdom/Legacy Blaster yellowed in the same spot as both my copies.... I'm hoping this 86 version doesn't have the defective yellowing plastic... I have to get this one in hopes yellowing doesn't plague this one as well...

There are some details which they could’ve altered to make it more screen accurate. The handle bars on the legs I would’ve liked to see reduced and the boom box needed a face lift
One of the biggest thing I was hoping to see remolded was the chest, I know we won't be able to store all his minions in his chest but I would have liked to store at least 2 in his chest like they did with GenSelects Soundblaster.

You've probably answered this a million times, but what display stand are you using? I'd love to get a few to have some of my collection in jet-mode or a flying pose!
I for one prefer the transparent plastic over the solid look especially when it comes to the card bots. The solid colored windows, especially in that blue make the figures look cheap similar to the oversized figures that Walgreens carries.
Honestly, they should have made this guy a Leader Class release. That way it could have fixed some of the gaps, add more paints, make improved figures for Eject as well as adding Rewind to the package and give them guns.
That tab at 9:57 had a problem, at least with mine. The tab was not a perfect rectangle, it had an extra bit of plastic, making it perpendicular so it wouldn't fit into the slot. I had to use my utility knife and cut off the extra bit, then, et voila, it fit.

Hey, I love this piece. Thank you. I would not have even known that this was available if it wasn't for this video. Luckily my target is legit! I've been looking for a blaster that meets my standards. I paid $38 (American) and some change out the door which, is totally worth it to me. The reason I like it so much is for the exact opposite reason you list it as a detriment. I truly hated the black paint accents. I'm old...I had the original. I just didn't like it. Yeah, wish the other knob was black, but that is about it. I'm still looking for a new Soundwave that meets my standards. Until then I will rock the Takara Masterpiece Soundwave! I love you videos. Keep up the great work!

I own the original Legacy version but I'm a big fan of Blaster since he was my first Transformer back in the 90s so to own the original paint scheme of an updated version, I'm stoked. I also have the reissue of the G1 version I had and still love it!

Found him in the wild at 20% off. Got him for $27. Wasn't going to grab him at first but said why not. Now I have both versions. Just wish that they would do a better job with the paint details. Some over spray/ brush in the areas around his face.
This is the BEST version of The Transformers Blaster made thus far no joke. Steeljaw is part of wave 3 of Studio Series and I can't wait to see him. We just need Ramhorn and that'll be ALL of his minions from The Transformers U.S. cartoon series. Of course we will need Rewind, Steeljaw, and Ramhorn done/re-done in SOLID PLASTIC like SS86 Eject.👍👍💯 PS. For the love of God Hasbro PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GIVE THEM THEIR WEAPONS! We aren't in the Classics/Generations 1.0 era anymore where most figures came with inaccurate/no weapons!😣
Hasbro claims they've fixed the yellowing after Legacy year 1 so a brand new figure like Cybertron Starscream should be okay. Then again, Hasbro aren't exactly known for their honest...

a pretty nice figure indeed and eject looks way better now, btw just seen some news of a new legacy united 4 pack including tarn (slight recolor), cliffjumper(re-use of the chase mold), tarantulas(repaint) and squeezeplay(headmaster), i myself am gonna hunt for that till i find it, it would make a very fine addition to my collection

Soundwave is my favorite Transformer design of all time, so being able to get Blaster awesome. My one gripe of the design is the permanently extended trigger finger.
If Hasbro just would make a core class Steeljaw. It is odd though my Netflix Soundwave is still in perfect grey colour, maybe some change in materials in the production run?
Is the yellow on that your Blaster from the Kingdom wave? I have the Legacy release and there is no yellowing on mine. also Hope the SS Soundwave gets a new mold or is atleast heavily retooled from Blaster. To make a taller and slightly more articulated and recreate the cassette altmode. hope they aleast paint the character in more accurate colors that wont yellow.
Nah, I don't think I'll pay Studio Series Voyager price just to get a Cassettebot in a new colour. The actual Blaster figure looks worse now because you can't see the cassette inside him. The Kingdom Blaster used a combination of opaque and clear plastic for the chest door, so I'm not worried about that piece breaking.
Look, if this thing had been the only way for me to get Steeljaw, I just wouldn't get to have Steeljaw, because I already have kingdom Blaster and I'm not buying a new Voyager for a cassette bot. I'd much prefer if they sell him seperately.

I don't think it will. I don't ive heard any recent complaints on yellowing plastic I believe hasbro even stated that they resolved the problem

My Soundwave doesn't look like that at all, no yellowing. You probably leave them TFs in a sunny room or something?
The white on the head and face looks nice. But i already got the toyhax for the original, and the stickers make it look pretty much the same as this.

It is odd though my Netflix Soundwave is still in perfect grey colour, maybe some change in materials in the production run?

Steeljaw has been rumoured for release in 2024 for a while now. I expect he will arrive alongside Swoop and Springer.
Is the yellow on that your Blaster from the Kingdom wave? I have the Legacy release and there is no yellowing on mine. also Hope the SS Soundwave gets a new mold or is atleast heavily retooled from Blaster. To make a taller and slightly more articulated and recreate the cassette altmode. hope they aleast paint the character in more accurate colors that wont yellow.

Nah, I don't think I'll pay Studio Series Voyager price just to get a Cassettebot in a new colour. The actual Blaster figure looks worse now because you can't see the cassette inside him. The Kingdom Blaster used a combination of opaque and clear plastic for the chest door, so I'm not worried about that piece breaking.
Yeah the price tag for this is insane especially as Kingdom Blaster was a bit cheaper originally!
Look, if this thing had been the only way for me to get Steeljaw, I just wouldn't get to have Steeljaw, because I already have kingdom Blaster and I'm not buying a new Voyager for a cassette bot. I'd much prefer if they sell him seperately.
There should be an accessories kit for some of the new figures and they should have his speakers and a scale accurate cassette player.
