If you tell a boy that he's a girl, how is that gender affirming?
Calling CNN the most trusted name in news is like calling, gender affirming care medically necessary.
You can trust them to lie to you. 100% reliable.
I watch a lot of UK news, so thankfully, I've been aware of the Cass review for a while. It amazes me how the US media has completely ignored it.
You mean the same media that ignored Hunters laptop, Ashley's diary, Joe's selling influence, illegal documents, Obama's associations and college history, and killing of US citizens with drones, proof of WMD in Iraq, Clinton's, both Bill and Hillary, criminality, Regan's success, Carter's failures, Solendra, Enron, cattle futures, election fraud, press manipulation and lies by Hillary, false statements by "intelligence" officials, BLM, Antifa, climate data manipulation and falsification, truth about Covid, vaccines, fatalities, lockdowns, masks and literally anything that is true? That media? You are honestly surprised?
Their "definition" is just an appeal to authority fallacy.
I think this goes beyond fallacy. It's manipulation on a global level because this stuff spread all across the Western world.
It's not even an appeal to actual authority. The definition came from an activist group, not from psychiatrists and doctors.
@@wstavis3135 The latest VICE hit piece against detransitioners also uses the exact same definition word-by-word. Glad I stumbled across this video.
If someone tells you that the science is settled, run the other way.
"OVERSIGHT" ? You mean ACCIDENTAL.....no...it is deliberate, not an oversight
Secondary sex characteristics not more important than primary
F cnn! Who agrees?
"Kermit, I know you've been calling alot of attention to this."
🐸💬"Yeaaah, I've been a little bit radicalized ..."
It’s sort of like anti-gravity affirming physics. Objective reality is nothing more than an inconvenience to be ignored in favor of warped ideology.
Lets take it to its logical conclusion and start "affirming" schizophrenia and anorexia...🤦
Yes, because living like the other half of the world population is equivalent to starving yourself to organ failure or interacting with hallucinations. It's almost like this has been clinically studied for decades and one has better outcomes.
@@SophiaDalke that's propoganda, there are no robust, long term studies that show efficacy. I've lost a daughter to this bullshit so forgive my sensitivity on the subject, but it's insane that a loving father has no rights to access his 14 year old daughters health care records and the school brainwashes your child into thinking they need protection from you.
Don't forget the pedoes.
@@SophiaDalke *"living like the other half of the world population"*
TIL half of the world population is sterilized, mutilated and heavily medicated.

Who "designates" your gender at birth?
Biology.
It's just a weird way to put it
@@KrytoRift Agreed.
So physical conversion therapy instead of mental conversion therapy... how is this better exactly?
Because "mental" conversion therapy is basically treating people like dogs and conditioning them to feel terrible about the things they want, which unsurprisingly doesn't make them stop wanting things, just now they have two layers of misery instead of one. "Physical" "conversion therapy" is giving people what they want to the best ability of medical science, which increases happiness/contentment/satisfaction to some degree (variant on countless factors).
@@SophiaDalke Mental conversion therapy is obviously very bad, but hormones/physical mutilation is many many times worse. In the US, adults can legally mutilate themselves, I have no legal problem with that. Mutilating and permanently harming the children is horrendous child abuse and should be punished with jail time for the parents/doctors.
@@SophiaDalke you're not a woman and never will be.
was copy pasta intentional 😅
When I go into the bank for a loan I want to be identified as someone with a good credit score. Sound ridiculous? Which is harder, to grant me a loan under good terms or to under go surgery and a regimen of lifelong drugs to transform from male to female?
Gender is not assigned at birth, it’s identified.
sad that only your shorts are good content
Sorry you don't have the attention span to actually hear a longer and more nuanced argument.
Copypasta?
Colloquial for “egregious copy paste”
Essentially…
While I agree that skepticism has a rightful place in any discourse about science, medical or otherwise, at the same time it is absolutely overstating things to cast the Cass Review as something that just overturns decades upon decades of other research and consensus. The APA, AMA, et al have not repudiated any of their policies and recommendations, and I don't think we as Americans should be looking to Europe's politicization and government control of healthcare as a model simply because suddenly it's doing some niche thing you like. There is a lot of bad faith and hypocrisy in all of this, and I for one want to trust doctors to do the right thing for their patients, not farm out control to ideologues in state legislatures who want their views of society enforced by law. How can you even call yourselves libertarians anymore?
That was my reaction when people on the right, especially folks like Carl Benjamin, were cheering on the TERFs a few months ago. You understand, these people hate us, right? TERFs hate trans women because they think they're men. These are not people I want to champion.
There was literally zero discussion on legislation around this area. The discussion was about CNN using a repetitive definition that is very skewed. How does this go against libertarian ideals to note when a publication is using poor information?
And I agree, doctors should have their patients' well being in mind. Like perhaps pump the brakes on irreversible cocktails of hormones and several surgeries that a good portion of the population come to regret years later, and another sizable chunk find little if any improvement to their mental state while their body is mutilated from below them. Maybe, just maybe, physical health matters in conjunction with mental health, and there are more treatments to consider than the expensive and dangerous surgeries. Perhaps therapy could be of use?
I'll add that it was gender affirmation that overturned decades of clinical experience and research. Previously, physical transition was a last resort on mature adults. Affirmation had a few dubious surveys and no science. Affirmation itself as a methodology is contrary to science and reason.
