  • Here's an easy way to transform your bathroom mirrors by framing them. I had to gel stain mine to match the cabinets but you could spray paint or stain and polyurethane them what ever color you like.

      It does look good but you will never be able to remove the mirror without breaking it. Instead of liquid nails use a little clear silicone, and it will hold as long as you need and will still be removable. Otherwise it's a great idea!

    nice looking brushed nickel finish with multiple water spray options
    Our master bathroom has a standing shower with handheld shower head.
    We started to see some rust spots in the hose not to mention heavy mineral built ups in the shower head because our house has very hard water despite water softener we have.
    My wife picked out this handheld shower head to replace our old one because she loves the brush nickel finish to match our bathroom decors but this turned out to be very impressive handheld shower head.
    Although I have replaced shower heads many times in the past, it came with nice instruction on how to replace it for those who's not familiar with it. My only advise would be to use wrench to hold the base spout when removing and installing the holding adapter so you don't accidently twist and damage the base pipe when you over tighten it.
    I really appreciate that it came with plenty of plumber's tape because you really want to put that on before connecting different parts so that there's no water leak in between threads. This is one of most common mistakes and reasons why there's leak after installing it. Very happy to see that they have provided plumber's tape to remind you to use it!
    It also had rubber rings/washers in each connector but it also came with extra one, which is nice. They also included a shower drain cover to prevent hair from going in to the drainage, which is a nice bonus. I really love the brush nickel finish, which makes it look elegant and expensive. The 7 different water spray setting is nice to have so you can change it for different purpose. We will most likely leave it on one setting for most of the times but it's nice to have option to change it when needed, such as jet spray for cleaning the shower wall, etc.
    After replacing the shower head, I didn't see any leak and the stainless steel hose feels sturdy. I also like that I can rotate and tilt the shower head holder and it stays in place. Overall, very happy with this shower head!

    Looks good and it eould have been better if a return was cut on the top and bottom piece. A nicely cut return would cause the profile to wrap around the sides instead leaving endgrain and is really nice detail which I think is worth the extra effort even if it is a little more difficult.

    This looks great, and the tutorial very helpful. My only hesitation is what to do when you want to take the mirror down for some reason (to paint the bathroom)? With the molding glued over the screws that are holding the mirror to the wall... I'm not doing this to flip a house, and every 10 years or so, the bathroom gets redecorated.

    • @petebeasttexashomesteading

      If the mirror is not too big, you could use a good quality silicon rubber adhesive to hold the frame.

    So I just did my upstairs bath mirror. Took a while to stain it. Anyway, fairly happy at this point, just hoping it dries ok. The only issue is that the top frame still isn't as level as it should be. I replaced the plastic top mirror holders with the washers, just like you did. But very top of the frame stick out a bit, because the depth of the screws and washers is still too much. The liquid nails seems to be working, but appears to only be holding it on by the lower portion that is flush with the mirror. The top part is not, unfortunately. I tried to copy you as well as I could, but this part was a mystery. I did this smaller mirror as a test. I want to do our master bath next, but that is a crazy big mirror.

    • @petebeasttexashomesteading
      @petebeasttexashomesteading  8 лет назад

      +Jeff B I used a sheet metal flat head type screw with a washer and that was good enough. I'd leave it alone If it doesn't look bad. The liquid nail should hold the top piece just fine, but if you want to replace it, try using the sheet metal flat head screws. Not sure how well the liquid nail will come off.

    TIP: make sure that the molding is perfectly straight and not warped at all. our pieces were slightly bent and it was a problem to get the liquid nails to hold the molding flush to the mirror. It kept bowing out at both sides. We had to hold it for awhile and then we created a "clamp" out of wood scraps to hold it flush overnight. It would have been much easier to get a straight piece of molding from the beginning.
