As someone who studies animation and is getting into the industry soon, Cartoon Network aint dead. The industry shifts around a lot. I remember people saying "Cartoon Network is dead" like 10 years ago. Theres always up and downs with this medium.
I mean it really isn’t I have tuned into it sometimes and they are always playing gumball or regular show. All they do for regular show is play the last 2 episodes or a random one from season 8
Nah I think it’s definitely dying. Mainly cause streaming as a whole is getting more and more inconvenient like you can only have 2-3 streaming services at any time before it just becomes too much trouble to keep track of new releases. New stuff is also just risky, especially for animation. Stuff gets taken out back after one season or before even releasing.
On a somewhat positive note, [AS] is about to go on a generational run, they’ve announced an onslaught of new shows and pilots of truly unique and amazing shows.
Hopefully they can branch out into new original shows than is not based on an IP like DC or another spin off like that awful Rick and Morty anime, plus the Rick and Morty craze is over and it needs to put to rest because that show ended up creating many Redditors when that Pickle Rick and McDonald’s sauce riots happened in 2017 and the creator of the show is a horrible abusive monster.

When it comes to animation, there has always been someone to dominate the field. Disney had the 90s, Nickelodeon had the 2000s, CN with the 2010s, and now RUclips with the 2020s. If RUclips at some point dies out, it'll be interesting to see who's gonna lead the way in the next decade.

I can tell im older than you by the shows we watched. I was in middle school when Adventure Time and Regular Show came out. I liked them but by that time i was slowly losing interest in CN. The shows from the 2000s when i was in elementary school were so much better. Dexters Lab, Ed, Edd n Eddy, Powerpuff Girls, Billy and Mandy, Kids Next Door, Foster's Home, Flapjack. Too many to list
I guess for someone who is literally at the end of Gen z (Basically Gen A) I never thought of Cartoon Network being "dead" while i was watching it. Of course i watched things like the amazing world of gumball and adventure time, but i also watched Unikitty, Summer camp island, the Ben 10 reboot, Dc super hero girls, Craig of the creek, Ok k.o, over the garden wall, Mighty magicswords, maomao, etc. Maybe like todays generation is going through i slump but i wouldnt compare it to how i had it growing up.
Me personally see’s that Cartoon Network is the best out of Nickelodeon and Disney mostly for the mid 2000’s-early 2010’s. From Ed Edd’n Eddy to Ben 10 to Regular Show they were popping out hits especially most underrated gems like generator rex, flapjack and chowder which are still iconic to this day. Nowadays they are struggling in bankruptcy due to laying off employees and risk giving new originals a chance due to greediness.
It's absolute criminal that CN didn't give OG Teen Titans a proper ending, and to add insult to injury, they use that brand and completely dumb it down and it's reboot. Add gas to the fire, it outlasted it's original counterpart. What a slap in the face

Cartoon Network would go downhill after the 2007 Boston Bomb Scare and never really recovered. The fact the 2008 Writers Strike happened a year and a half later did not help matters.
I think there are like 10-15 channels nowadays that show cartoon/animated shows with any regularity. Streaming doesn't work for companies either as they r offering a lot of shows for very cheap but are paying a lot of money to run big shows

One of the Few reasons I wanted to Get HBO Max was to watch all the different Ben 10 shows n south park episodes,but now with it only classic and having seen every episode exept the paramount plus content,i not sure.I did watch all of Friends,Aqua teen hunger force,robot chicken, and smiling friends.

As a genz I kinda agree i grew up with Ben 10 tom and Jerry and other mid, late 2000s and early 2010s and nowadays it just doesn't hit and I stopped watching Nick and disney after 2014 because that's when I moved to the US and started watching pbs and qubo. CN just fell off for me in 2015 that's when I stopped watching

To me the cliffhanger ending was really just hinting at the conpect of gumball being a cancelled show so it's pretty terrifying.
