I'm so fed up with the irony of my surrounding. This lecture give me a hope, justice, and reality slap with a logical answer.
    Thank you.

Some parents are financially abusive, among other types of abusive. Anyways, if the children get married to spouses and have their own children, that alone is a clue that nope, the wealth does NOT belong to the father asides from that 1/6th. And let's hope no father is asking their daughter for money (unless the father needs it for survival or something).

My father left me when I was young and he didn't give a fuck about me or my family. I swear by Allah I will not attend or even pay for his funeral. Rules apply to people who follow them properly.

I’m really sorry for what happened to you in past but Islam teaches us to be tolerant and to forgive. Don’t do him favours if it’s hurting you but as a son please attend his funeral and pray for his aakhirah. Maybe Allah will forgive all your sins and grant you Jannah just for this sabr

Regardless are we not obliged to do whatever our parents tell us unless it is haram?

I work my ass off Allah did not rain down gold and silver from the sky for me. My blood sweat and tears is what got me what little I have. Don't tell me this stuff that Allah will multiply my charity because guess what I pay my zakat and I'm still struggling. So proof it's not the case.

It depends on their financial status. If they are poor, which is how most Muslim families are nowadays no offense. Then it's your obligation to give them! If you can of course. And when i say poor i don't mean living in the streets, that's poverty.
