another masterpiece from you! as someone that is three weeks out from my first marathon, this found me at the perfect time. unfortunately I picked up an overuse strain last week, so had to focus on recovery. it wasn't easy in a week that I planned to peak, but I did my best to listen to my body. all that training goes to waste if you don't make the start line! as a side note on dealing with pain, I have one thought always gets me through tough moments. "it is a privilege to voluntarily put yourself through discomfort." a perspective shifter that works for me.
My recommendation is if new to running and starting at beginning and haven't run I'd start with the "Walk Run Method"..build that base baby..before no time you will get to a point to try the "Hanson Method "baby steps Great Book to Check Out For Walk/ Run..beginners is MARATHON-" you can do it" by Jeff Galloway Other books for Novice Runners is BY Hal Higdon MARATHON- -ULTIMATE TRAINING GUIDE both teach you how to do workouts and charts to get to MARATHON hope helps one love turn that knob and have fun while you run....God bless one love.
I ran and finished the Bank of america Marathon back in 2015. Ill cosign what you are saying about embracing pain and suffering. Your training should have you consistently flirting with pain/suffering and ascending past it. During training, I used headphones only on my long run days. Normal 5 mile jogs I wouldn't use headphones to increase the suffering 😂

Appreciate you. Good that you listened to your body getting to the starting line is one of the most important parts. That’s a really great quote!

I heard that if it's not on Strava, it didn't happen. Jokes aside, yesterday was a 15 km day here. By the way, thanks for the tips.
Word right haha. Now I have to do the 16 miles over hahaha.
