I really enjoy news from you! It’s not all the same stuff we hear about from other RUclipsrs, and if it is similar, you’re telling us other details that we may not have known. I didn’t realize that the new more affordable Strandberg won’t be multiscale, for instance. That could be a plus or a bummer depending on who you ask. I look forward to seeing some reviews about the ergonomics because that’s the entire point of buying a Strandberg. I’m sure there is a way of making a multiscale more affordable - after all, there are already similar affordable models (some that even offer stainless frets and/or multiscale) for $249-$699. If other headless companies can do it, surely Strandberg can find a way. I don’t know which factory is producing these new Strandberg models, but maybe it’s a matter of using a factory that already has the machines and workers who know how to source and install multiscale frets. I’d be curious to understand why multiscale would jack the price up so much more. I really think they can make the very same guitar with multiscale stainless frets for around $499-$599. $999 is definitely a chunk less money than their current lineup . . . but it’s not as drastic of a price difference as many people would have hoped. There are similar guitars on the market with similar body shapes and features as this new $999 Strandberg for $299-$499. EART, ALP, Latitude, and so many others have been around for several years and have amazing reviews. It’s going to be difficult for Strandberg to compete with those options if they can’t figure out how to bring the price down more while offering more unique features.
Hi Rachel Definitely try to get your hands on a .strandberg, and preferably one with the slanted frets. Just pester them until they give in. and since you love gothic symphonic rock style music, try UnSun (who are unfortunately no more because the singer had medical issues with her voice) and maybe Nemesea, too?

A year ago in a guitar store I tested BODEN ORIGINAL NX 7 ($2,395.00), felt decent, but the BODEN STANDARD NX 7 ($1,745.00, the cheapest 7 string they had at the time) felt not playable in all directions. Hard to imagine what kind of guitar will this one be😄
Sonata Arctica is one of my favorite metal bands. I saw they released a new single not long ago when I was going through RUclips. Honestly, I didn't have high hopes. Nothing on the last couple albums really caught me. I was happy to be wrong! I think you have a good thing going with this format. Maybe play a few licks during it? Good luck getting your hands on a Strandberg.
I played my friend's Steinberger a long time ago and I was super disoriented on the fretboard.😄I guess I sight where I am positioned from the headstock with my peripheral vision? I don't know... it was weird for me. Ha ha.😅 I listened to Lucifer and I love them. Thanks for the heads up! 👏👏👏I asked you a question on your last Patreon post. 🙂

Im a bit hesitant with the strandberg. Im not sure but i think changing the strings might be annoying but if I'm being honest im afraid I'll love it and end up buying a $3000 one. Have you heard of elysion? I randomly stumbled upon them and it's a trat whenever one of their songs pops up on my shuffle playlist. Listen to "killing my dreams" if you get the chance.

I will own a Strandberg Per Nilsson signature 7-string model before I kick the spitbucket. The red and black model is absolutely gorgeous and plays like a dream. I'll have to sell one kidney and half my liver to afford one though.
