@@ShortyLongstrokinyeah closing the wide open border and making our economy good again is totally going in the wrong direction. Isn’t it just a shame how for the first time in 3 years there’s finally talks about ending all these wars?
It's crazy that we have a movie like this that we all watch and go, "Yeah... pretty much." It feels like we're in a crashing airplane at best. The future I honestly see for humanity is worse than death. It's the slow, gradual degradation over many lifetimes into a civilization so unsustainable that one day it just shits its pants and dies. We're somewhere in the middle of that process and we probably won't even get the catharsis of living long enough to see how it ends. Shit sucks.
funny story i went to europe and i asked for some water with ice at a restaurant and they said "you mean like from the sink/faucet?" and i immediately thought of the line from this movie. "Water? you mean like from the toilet?" its served for free when you dine in at most if not all american restaurants
@TisforTerror because we serve water from bottles and it's not free. Even though most European countries have super clean water in the sink, it feels weird to serve it in a restaurant
Oh sure, the only US president in like 30 or more years, that didn't start a military conflict, made prison reforms that helped black people and didn't go power hungry when covid rolled around, giving discretion as to how many restrictions will be in place to states instead, is the biggest fascist/nazi/hitler/mussolini/stali... oops wrong tribe. Basing your opinions on the out of context snippets and doom mongering from the legacy media, owned by the same people who own the life long politicians who pretend to serve the people while they enrich themselves and the people financing them. With untold billions and control over the state at stake for the people who own those media companies of course you can believe all the claims they make about Trump.
We just have a bunch of people who care more about celebrity and vibes than looking at actual policy. And a good number are just racist and misogynistic. One of the biggest problems is as the right keeps going further and further leaning into the racism etc., the dems say “oh well i guess we should adopt some of those policies and people will like us more right?” Instead of trying to cater to a more leftist base they want to become republican lite. And the people they want to reach would rather just vote for actual republicans. The dems are screwing us as much as the political right is. But with a fascist in charge now, things will get pretty bad very quickly, and im not sure if we can recover
"Yah I know this place is pretty good, I went to law school here." "In Costco?" "Yah I couldn't believe it myself, luckily my dad was an alumnus and pulled some strings." Fun Fact: Theatrical movie debut of Kati Sharp. Idiocracy One Fact: The Presidential RV has the number 28000, which is the real tail number for Air Force One. Voice Play Fact: Director Mike Judge is the voice of the announcer at the demolition derby. He also voices the announcer of The Masturbation Network. Blink And You'll Miss It Fact: The very small Surgeon General's warning seen on the Tarrylton's Cigarettes billboard reads: "Warning: The Surgeon General has one lung and a voicebox but he could still kick your sorry ass." Casting Notes Fact: Thomas Haden Church had read for Office Space (1999) but didn't get the part. However Mike Judge was a big fan of Church's work and tried getting him cast in other projects but due to other commitments, they couldn't line it up. When this film was shooting in Austin Texas, Judge called Church to work for one day. To this day, Church hasn't seen the film. Studio Hacks Fact: In addition to concerns about how to market the film, Twentieth Century Fox also grew weary of the film's frequent, harsh critiques of recognizable corporations. Studio executives wished to shuffle the movie to DVD shelves as quickly and quietly as possible. The film's contract, however, stipulated that it had to receive a theatrical release. The studio met the terms of the contract, but provided no marketing for the film, released it in an unusually small number of cinemas in select cities, and pulled the film in all markets after only one week. So little effort was put into showing the film in theaters, that some of the few cinemas that screened the film were forced to promote it as "Untitled Mike Judge Project" in their lists of coming attractions.
they actually rented out a movie theater and played a looping clip of an ass farting for an audience of hired extras for that scene for the movie "ass"... there was an issue though... the extras they hired literally could not stop laughing at it, and it was in that moment that mike judge questioned if he really needed to make this film or if he could just release "ass" as an actual movie and have it be a hit.... the story is in the dvd commentary of this movie... i really miss dvds for their commentary tracks.
Classic movie, one of my favorites! Wasn't there a rumor that Costco and Starbucks got so mad about how they were portrayed in the film that they somehow forced the movie to have just a very limited release in theatres?
I'm sorry the USA is failing Ukraine tonight. We are idiots. I fear it will affect your lives now that it looks like trump is coming back into office. I'm truly sorry, I wanted us to help you so badly. 😢
@Flernaffinor don't worry, it's all politics. Trump says one thing but can do the opposite. A lot of Republicans in House and Senate support Ukraine much more than Democrats. So, it's unclear what going to happen

One of the most important documentaries to have ever been made.
Idiocracy, best documentary ever made. so many great lines in this movie, i want to list them all. im lazy though.
This is not a movie. It's a contemporary documentary about the United States.
Truth.
