  • In this heartwarming video, join us as we embark on a journey to clean and care for our beloved chickens in the chilly Alaskan wilderness. Our day starts with the daunting task of cleaning the deep bedding in the coop, ensuring a cozy and comfortable environment for our feathered friends.
    But the work doesn't stop there - we also brave the cold to clear snow outside, creating a safe and fun space for our chickens to roam and play. The satisfaction of seeing them happily pecking and scratching around in the freshly cleared area is truly rewarding.
    Inside the coop, we tackle the final touches by finishing the ceiling, providing extra insulation to shield our chickens from the harsh winter elements. The sense of accomplishment as we complete this task is immeasurable.
    And to top it all off, we gather around the table for a heartwarming family dinner, celebrating the hard work and dedication put into caring for our chickens. It's moments like these that remind us of the joy and fulfillment that come with taking care of these wonderful creatures.
    Join us on this journey of love, care, and hard work as we show our chickens in Alaska the utmost attention and dedication they deserve.

    We have had a couple of 80+ days here in Oklahoma, but we drop back down to the lower 30s for the mornings starting tonight! I want spring temperatures, which would be 60s, maybe 70s. We know it has already been a weird year so far anyway. LOL! I am sure you are so happy getting the ceiling complete, and getting the coop cleaned out. The chickens are happy! Dinner looks yummy, as usual!! Now I am hungry! God bless you all!

    • @modernhomesteadalaska
      @modernhomesteadalaska  3 месяца назад +1

      Oh wow ok I would start with a 12 week list of what I could cook in an emergency IE, beans and Rice, and the few extras I needed, then fill that out and then build my long food storage from there. Why 12 weeks? No idea I just figure after that amount of time you have faced an emergency at some point you are looking to move forward, job loss, emergency, surgery….. collapse…. But if you could get through 12 weeks no problem then you can do something during that time to grow or move or change the situation without starving. But I’m talking make a list like Monday we eat beans and Tuesday we eat leftovers and Wednesday we eat different bean with rice….. and then do the math for your family size. And gather that amount of supplies.
