Chickens in Alaska Winter, Massive Clean Up Efforts to Keep Our Feathered Friends Safe!

- In this heartwarming video, join us as we embark on a journey to clean and care for our beloved chickens in the chilly Alaskan wilderness. Our day starts with the daunting task of cleaning the deep bedding in the coop, ensuring a cozy and comfortable environment for our feathered friends.
But the work doesn't stop there - we also brave the cold to clear snow outside, creating a safe and fun space for our chickens to roam and play. The satisfaction of seeing them happily pecking and scratching around in the freshly cleared area is truly rewarding.
Inside the coop, we tackle the final touches by finishing the ceiling, providing extra insulation to shield our chickens from the harsh winter elements. The sense of accomplishment as we complete this task is immeasurable.
And to top it all off, we gather around the table for a heartwarming family dinner, celebrating the hard work and dedication put into caring for our chickens. It's moments like these that remind us of the joy and fulfillment that come with taking care of these wonderful creatures.
Join us on this journey of love, care, and hard work as we show our chickens in Alaska the utmost attention and dedication they deserve.

Great video Aaron and Jessica
Thank you so much,
We have had a couple of 80+ days here in Oklahoma, but we drop back down to the lower 30s for the mornings starting tonight! I want spring temperatures, which would be 60s, maybe 70s. We know it has already been a weird year so far anyway. LOL! I am sure you are so happy getting the ceiling complete, and getting the coop cleaned out. The chickens are happy! Dinner looks yummy, as usual!! Now I am hungry! God bless you all!
Thank you! Yes! It’s truly weight off! The list of things I need to tackle in the 3 months of spring summer and fall all meshed together is huge so getting stuff done this winter is beautiful
Food looks amazing!
Thank you so much
Hi Jessica and sweet family! Great job on everyone pitching in to clean and put the ceiling panels on the chicken coop.
Oh yummy, pork schnitzel is delicious. My grandmother was German and she made the best pork schnitzel with fried apples and onions as a side and gravy. I haven’t made it in a longtime.
Your schnitzel looked so delicious.
I hope everyone has a blessed night and stay warm!
Love it! I had totally forgotten about it and was like oh man I should do that again. So yummy!
Love your channel love, the word, schnitzel and absolutely love your salt and pepper shakers
Thank you! It’s German word I think
Hi Jessica, your chickens have a nicer place to live than some people, lol. That meal looked mighty tasty and I really like the looks of the gravy, bet it would be good on a Chicken fried steak for breakfast, Thanks for sharing.
You just made me call Aaron and say grab some steak for chicken fried on the way home! And what do you know he did!
Watching from West Virginia

Hi Jessica, just need to say that I admire you for so many reasons! You are an amazing cook, so knowledgeable about gardening and your animals, and you and Aaron rock home improvements. Your home and property are just beautiful!
Wow you made me blush just reading that. Thank you so much that’s so kind of you
Dang girl, that supper looked delish. I’m excited to get chickens again after we move. I also want to put Lino on the floor. So nice spending some time with you guys, take care 🇨🇦🌷
Love it! That floor even with the cracks has held up for sure! It would not be so good without it
Great job with all the hard work. Love tagging along with you through your videos. It has been very warm here in NE Iowa..temps in 60’s and expecting some 70’s followed by two days of wind and frigid temps. Now going back up in the 60’ s rollercoster ride and not normal for us in Feb. Take care my Alaska friends!
Thank you! Enjoyed the video.
Thank you for watching friend
Crazy how much brighter the coop looks with the roof done. 😊 yeah for a clean coop. I'm so glad you all were able to pull together to get this done. Your chickens were so happy being able to explore a bit further out. Your dinner looked amazing! I've not had schnitzel ever. Looked delicious 😋. Take good care! 😊🙏💜
Yes! Thank you! Always nice to have you friend

Look at all that snow! So much beauty! It was 67⁰ here in Northeast Ohio, today. We will be back in the 20s tomorrow night.

You’ll have the nicest chicken coop I have ever seen.
Oh wow thank you! If we can get it completed it will be fantastic
You made me hungry 😊
Great looking coop!

It's night and day between Alaska and North Carolina where I live. I am hoping for a little snow this winter God willing. It's in the 60s here, lol. And I go out in shorts and t-shirt. Wonderful showing of meal prep. God Bless💕💕💕
God bless
Dinner looks Yummy!
Thank you
That meal looked delicious, great job
Thank you 😋
You and your husband are always WORKING. Can bears come get them. Never made Schnitzel..glad I am watching.
Bears could but we don’t live in an area with a measurable bear population. It’s still wild Alaska so anything could happen.
Dinner looked delicious and the chicken coop looked nice. A nice hearty dinner after working hard just perfect.
Thank you so much

Your food looked amazing, just to much salt for me! Yes warm here in Ohio yesterday and today thunderstorm tonight supposed to be cooler Thursday and Friday and warm back up. Can't handle this drastic temperature changes much longer 😢
It’s hard on me even though it’s still could, it’s hard to go from 40 to -3 it’s cold!
That is a lot of hard work but well worth the end product!! Thank you for sharing such wonderful videos with us!!
So worth it, honestly it takes a mental load off too
Jessica you should invent chicken boots for the snow!
lol it would be so cute!
I've been missing seeing your chickens. I just get a kick out of them. I guess it's because I haven't really gotten to raise them. Your dinner looked yummy, now I know what to do with the large pork tenderloin I have.
The chickens are so stinking cute. Thank you
You should watch simple living Alaska and see what they did for themselves and their chickens.
Interesting you say that, they actually followed my coop build on the insulation, small building, flooring, windows….. we support each other. They have done what’s best for them in Tok for sure.
Hello all.....
Hello
Hello Friend !
Hello
You should put Vaseline on their everything that’s pink even their feet put Vaseline on that’s snowing like that. That’s the protector skin and let me tell you it does work that’s what you’re supposed to do when it’s winter and snow you put Vaseline on your feet Vaseline on there especially the roosterspink gobbler thing
It’s very true don’t forget to put Vaseline on your feet. Where does pink
Seems like forever since you did a video. But I know it hasn’t been. I just really enjoy your videos
Thanks you that’s so kind
Its 10:15 pm Est here in Florida. Just watched your video. I want food now…..🤔🥴
Good evening my friend
Meal looks delicious
Thank you 😋
Dinner looked delicious! Thank you for taking the time to share with us.
Thank you for watching!
Hi, I love watching your videos you have got the cleanest chicken coat. I admire it so much I wish everyone should keep their chicken coop this clean. Honestly it’s a must too many people have dirty chicken coops. I love that yours is clean and I thank you for all your videos. God bless thank you.
Thank you! I do try and then they poop on the clean bedding! lol chickens are hard to keep up on but we do try super hard
You take such great care to your chickens. Nice to see. Even better seeing everyone helping. Great meal. Enjoy. See you again soon my friend. Take care✌️🇺🇸❤️
Take care my friend
In indiana that pork is what we call " breaded pork tenderloin." Sold in most bar and grills here in indiana..
Love it! It’s a German thing. But we call it chicken fried pork chops to the kids or they are like what is that!
I want a big bite yum!! U take good care of your animals❤. Enjoy the warmth while u can!
It’s so yummy! Thank you
Love your videos and watching your family do all that you do!!
Thank you so much
Awesome job lady! Love your coop! No mold means your coop build is awesome for regulating the moisture. Excess moisture can really wreak havoc on a chickens respiratory system. A dry chicken is a happy chicken. Be blessed friend!
Thank you agree! She is poopy but not moldy
Blessings ya'll❤
Thank you! You too
Beautiful snow scenery👌🏾
Thank you such a pretty state in winter
Thanks for sharing! That meal looks delicious!!
Thank you friendc
Food look great
Thank you
Do you have a garden right All that bedding you're getting from the chickens that makes great fertilizer
Yes 1000%
Try using a roll of linoleum in the chicken coop
Do u still plan on getting heated water dishes for the chickens??? Dinner looked delicious 😋
Looked at them just today. When we have power and not a cord in the snow we will look at heater water. Until then we just fill the bowels
I’ve never seen Snow .
I’m actually sorry. We honestly love it!
How do you protect them from eagles / or hawks etc .
Trees and places to hide and I don’t clip the wings. Like we set out little things they can run under when a big bird comes along.
I have another ? About having emergency food on hand if you only had 500$ would u use it to buy canned goods , bottled water or something different
Oh wow ok I would start with a 12 week list of what I could cook in an emergency IE, beans and Rice, and the few extras I needed, then fill that out and then build my long food storage from there. Why 12 weeks? No idea I just figure after that amount of time you have faced an emergency at some point you are looking to move forward, job loss, emergency, surgery….. collapse…. But if you could get through 12 weeks no problem then you can do something during that time to grow or move or change the situation without starving. But I’m talking make a list like Monday we eat beans and Tuesday we eat leftovers and Wednesday we eat different bean with rice….. and then do the math for your family size. And gather that amount of supplies.
@@modernhomesteadalaska thank you for in suggestions
Does🎉 it stink?
A little bit but it composts quickly. And no stick to that
Where's Kody been
Oh so much work that girl trying to safe to get her own place.
