Hello friends! Thanks for watching! Make sure to hit that notification button to know when there's a new video, and check out our last video featuring Mayim Bialik from The Big Bang Theory: ruclips.net/video/pF-GmDWpfz0/видео.html
my guess before the video: Cuz how would we get that electricity from solar panels to our earth? or where would we store it? there's going to be a lot of batteries involved then
Well one of the points is that you could achieve an orbit to where the solar panels are receiving direct sunlight all the time, so you wouldn't necessarily need batteries like you do with solar panels on Earth. Batteries are really important for sources of energy that are not constant, like solar panels on earth (sun isn't always shining) or wind turbines (wind isn't always blowing). Using batteries, you can still have electricity during times of slowed or null production of electricity.
Software Man electricity are converted to microwaves ..Then it is received in earth by means of rectannas (rectifier+antenna)...Exp already conducted by Japan space agency....
Can you make a video about how eclipses work, because I've noticed a lot of people that don't under stand how the shadow goes west to east, how the path of totality is smaller than the object making it, etc.
Bob McCoy Don't know. Once I was a kid, I look at sun without glasses for 3-4 minutes and It hurt my eye a little bit... Maybe like 12 minutes? Just don't do it.
Hey Life Noggin, how about you do a Video on: Is Nuclear Energy Safe? How do we know the Earth isn't hollow? Can we store Energy? What stops country's from putting Nuclear Weapons in space How much is the Earth worth? Could we live inside a computer?
Because that would break a lot of Earths Concepts like the magnetic sphere and the planet sticking together in the first place. In laymens terms, it'd mean Earth as we know would be impossible.
Here in Chile we have one of the most important deserts (Atacama Desert), its known from having the clearest skies and now Chile is planning to put a lot of solar panels there, if its goes good, the energy that we would recieve from there would be like a 70% of electricity :)
Quick question Blocko... How do people that are bilingual translate one language into another. Like talking to a guy who only speaks Chinese and telling the other person what that person said in English?
JD The Cranberry It's all about them processing, if a table in English is well, a table. Translating that to Bahasa Malaysia would be Meja which also simply means table. Or in short, it's just a large mess of stuff being defined over and over.
JD The Cranberry Its Just a Matter of Practice.. its not that hard tbh.. For example... Door, Translated to Spanish.. it would be.. Puerta.. Not Hard, Practice Makes Perfect.
JD The Cranberry I'm bilingual and from my experience you don't even have to process it if you're that good (Spanish and English) it's really involuntary you're mind just knows

Noah Mdk oh yes please ...the BBC (I believe ) did a beautiful documentation about it in the beginning of the 2000th. So research should be quite easy.
Life Noggin I just want to let you know I got to see the total solar eclipse and let me tell you it was freaking amazing! I got to spend time with my family at my Aunt's house I had such a fun time!
The Juno space craft has a orbit around Jupiter that is highly inclined to Jupiter's orbital plane, thus it is always in sunlight! That is why it doesn't need Plutonium atomic batteries(RTGs).
Life noggin you should make a video about solar eclipse , given that today passed that solar eclipse ! Why people can't look at it ? And what effect does it have maybe ?
Geothermal comes from decay heat of radioisotopes inside Earth. Isotopes were formed through a type of nuclear fusion (r-process) most typically upon merging or explosion of neutron stars. So it's also fusion power by that metric.
I think solar panels in space could be a great idea with more development. It would certainly bypass the most destructive needs of ground-bound solar panels like needing a lifeless, flat surface to cover. I have no idea if it would be scientifically viable, but maybe weather balloons tethered to a storage facility on the ground would work? The balloon itself could be covered in the materials to focus the sun's rays and aim them towards the center, where a spherical solar panel attached to the cable could be the single conversion.
Hey, this was as interesting video as I tend to advocate space based solar. I'd appreciate it you could also consider one of the more radical scenarios that has been proposed, where the solar panels are actually in orbit either at the L1 Lagrange point between the Earth and Sun, or directly around the sun. At these distances, in addition to the lack of attenuation from the atmosphere, the available radiation is also significantly higher intensity, leading to greatly increased energy production --- in many cases, by far enough extra to outweigh the conversion inefficiency of going to microwave and back. It is also worth pointing out that although solar is a relatively good energy source on the ground, large scale solar installations in the desert are not --- contrary to popular belief --- completely harmless: they tend to destroy large tracts of habitat for some very complex & important desert ecosystems that are often ignored because they are not obvious to the human eye. The maser receiving stations necessary to convert energy from space solar into usable electricity on the ground are much smaller and would likely have somewhat smaller impacts. Finally, since you seem interested in the feasibility of the topic practically, as well as a theoretical discussion of its benefits, you might also be interested in considering the potential political hurdles that such projects (especially the sun based ones) might have. In some of the scenarios that have been considered, in particular, a relatively few installations are providing power for the entire Earth through a network of relatively centralized distribution stations --- for example, a lot of the Earth's power may have to come from one particular half of it at any time based on which half is facing the sun. This faces a number of political challenges as long as competing country governments are wary of relying on a few other countries for their entire flow of energy. P.S. I would also like to mention briefly (since you seem to have appreciated this in some other cases; I hope it hasn't been brought up before) that silicone and silicon are two very different words/substances: the silicon in PV cells is not pronounced the same way as the silicone polymers that are used in cooking implements, etc.
First of all, that's impossible. Second of all, the Sun is so much bigger than the Earth so that will suck in Earth (and kill everything on Earth) and get ALL the planets in our solar system to get out of orbit and maby cause a supernove by colliding with the original Sun.
The Juno space craft has a orbit around Jupiter that is highly inclined to Jupiter's orbital plane, thus it is always in sunlight! That is why it doesn't need Plutonium atomic batteries(RTGs).
Every day of school for a long way toward an amazing and so is my favourite songs on this album has to go out with the best way of saying it is the most recent version and the first place I have no clue who they were in a while ago but the fact I can get it right away with the new version is better to be the best of the best. The only one who is a good one and only the first is ME! Auto-Correct did this.
There is MUCH more room in space than on Earth and a solar panel in space can produce 40 times the electricity as solar panels on Earth. Also the Space X Star Ship can put one KG in orbit for $20. I know this sounds insanely low, but the Starship is made to fly into orbit three times a day and the cost of fuel per launch is less than $2 million pre launch. When the space shuttle was in operation, it could launch a payload of 27,500 kilograms for $1.5 billion, or $54,500 per kilogram. For a SpaceX Falcon 9, the rocket used to access the ISS, the cost is just $2,720 per kilogram.
I think you brought up good points in this video but at the end you said to just place more on earth, well earth only has so much space and the population is constantly increasing which limits this idea and helps further the reasoning for them to be in space.
Hey Life Noggin, I learn so much from your videos! Could you start making your videos longer? Or uploading videos more frequently? I would like more content please :)
yes i think that putting solar panels in space is a great idea because then we could have more space here on earth and also Life Noggin you are the best youtube channel out there :)\
is it possible for a space solar panel in a geosynchronous orbit to be tethered via a space elevator/carbon nanotube column to transmit electricity directly rather than doing multiple stages of conversion?
Aldwin Vicente ... in theory maybe ... but electrons make over long distances in CNT some weird stuff... and probably the beaming down would be still more efficient ... and we don't know yet how to build a space elevator
before going out of atmosphere first we have to benefit solar energy from every available spot, when we go out of atmosphere converting not efficient so what should we do can we build metal pipe up to out of atmosphere or hanging cables coming from sky :D
Our Village has the most solar panels per human in Europe and we are getting a 30 ton battery to power the whole village at night! And we only have like 50 people living here all thanks to my dad who provides them!
Like you said, if done right solar panels will work if they launch cost went down, and they became able to access the solar power easer, and yes but it’s expensive to buy solar panels
The Juno space craft has a orbit around Jupiter that is highly inclined to Jupiter's orbital plane, thus it is always in sunlight! That is why it doesn't need Plutonium atomic batteries(RTGs).
I would think solar panels for space stations in the atmosphere would be possible. As well as pushing towards having a space station on the moon that could have solar panels to benefit electricity as well as push further to making checkpoint closer to Mars where these solar panels and checkpoints could give astronauts as a rest area as well as like a gas station in order to travel from Mars and back to earth
So some of it would be lost, like when you convert a file form mp3 to wav to m4a then back to mp3, or when you translate from japaneese and back to English over and over

EnergyTimeXP for question two, it is easy, we have basements, and oceans that are more than 1000 kilometers deep. So
Sarcastic Studios What I mean is: How do we know the Earth isn't just a shell a few kilometers deep
Because that would break a lot of Earths Concepts like the magnetic sphere and the planet sticking together in the first place. In laymens terms, it'd mean Earth as we know would be impossible.
Sarcastic Studios The oceans depth isn't even close it's only 10-15 km at deepest
The Almighty Demoham I know the Earth is full due to both Seismic testing and Radiological data, but I love how Life Noggin explains things...
2 years ago I actually did a school report on this, and it really is a fascinating topic

Just put a copper wire on the sun, you would get 500000000000kW per nanosecond. And then it would break, now you have power to last NaN years.
*_NASA.gOv_**_ WaNtS tO kNoW yOuR lOcAtIoN_*
Ordinary RUclipsr that's not possible, as sun is so big the wire would get destroyed before getting it wrapped around.
