I bought a Ripmo! And let me tell ya, it wasn't easy...search, search, search...and finally found a place with ONE in stock ( I really anted the the V2s, Bruce Banner). I bought frame only. Finally, after I don't know how many years of talking about it, I'm going to build my dream bike. Thank you for putting IbIs on my radar.
These videos are the only thing keeping me sane right now. Threw out my back HARD a week ago, and this week despite all of my precautions, Magically caught Covid. Got close to going to the hospital, but pulled through the thick of it. Been 2 weeks since I've even gotten on my bike, probably gonna be 2 more with how I'm feelin and these videos are seriously keeping the morale up till then. Keep up the good work and keep on riding something new BK
Ah man, what a run of bad luck! I'm glad my videos are getting you through it! When I had a bad flu a few years ago I just sat in bed watching RUclips and it helped so much.
Some exciting riding and features in this one. I think that chain stay protection was working. If you listen to everyone landing those drops, yours was comparatively much quieter.
My man Jay. My old stumping grounds, oh the memories. Fun fact: Jay and I were on the trail the day of the lightning storm that burnt half of Napa county.
Yea man that was probably the most intense thunderstorm 🌩 I’ve ever ridden in.. was scared just trying to get back to the car after seeing that lightning struck across the way overlooking Inspiration point & the fire had just begun 🤯
Lemme get that old crappy Ripmo in background! Im ready to build a full suspension bike, but if I buy the Ripmo frame I can only afford Deore parts....you got this bro!! I grew up in Sonoma. I was riding DIY rigid MBs in 81-85. Anadale State Park was our secret shred spot. Now its Nationally renowned! Crazy
Just got the same frame, with a Zeb up front. Best ride ever. Keep the videos coming. Broke a rib gong over the bars a week ago and this was the best pain relief!
Having a hard time deciding between the 2023 Ripmo v2s or the 2023 Ripley v4s... this will be my first full suspension mountain bike (i've always ridden hardtails, I'll be coming off a 2021 Salsa Timberjack w/ a 130mm front fork). I mainly ride undulating flow trails with chunky tree roots in Alaska, but do a big big trip every year towards the moab/colorado/northwest area. The big factor is I broke my back and neck 3 years ago whitewater kayaking, so I'm looking to soften the hard ride of the softtail up. I would love to have a lighter bike like the Ripley, but the extra cush of the Ripmo would probably feel better on my back. Any suggestions?
Wow that medium seemed a little bit more sketchy than your large. Maybe it was the trails but I kept feeling like you were going to go down. You all were killing it, looks super fun another great ride along. Thanks for sharing
How tall are you? I'm curious because your riding a medium now and always wondered if maybe I should have gone with M despite being between 5'10-5'11". Seems like you may be around that height too, so curious how your liking the medium vs the large.
Nice bike. just bought a new orbea occam 2022 and it is super. you make really good videos. would now like to see you run the race you ran in Canada again in 2022.
Question...Why does Ibis limit their color choices so much? I want to pull the trigger and buy one but the color options are incredibly limited. I want the blue (its my fav color) but it isn't avail. If im going to spend that much money I at least want the color I prefer.
All your videos are a great watch. You should spend a week riding behind the first lead guy. Your skill level behind him is the best I've ever seen from you. You still missed a few, but great ride from you. And a really great trail. Thanks for great videos.
Hey Brian...awesome trails...I thought you lived in Nor Cal like I do. Can you please tell us how to get to these trails in Napa? I'm prolly 90 minutes away but it seems, from this video that it would be worth the commute!
What are your thoughts on a chain ring bash guard (I think I see one on your sweet build)? Hit my chain ring on some steep rocks last weekend and wondering if it is worth it, or just avoid the rocks ;)
Hi I’m on a v1 size medium I’m 5’10 sometimes I feel it’s a bit small I’m buying a v2 but now I see you’ve downsized I is the v2 a little roomier? What was your reason for downsizing
1:09 Hey Brain, have you ever tried STFU chain damper. I tried them out myself starting last season and it is a game changer, made my bike finally STFU.
@BKXC I'm 5'8 and I always feel more comfortable on a large previously I have only ridden hardtails. Finally went with a full suspension, got a large and now i really think i should have gotten a medium. Any suggestions besides maybe a shorter stem? Thanks for sharing. Enjoy the ride
If it helps I'm 5'7" with long arms and it is all about reach...a medium with a sub 450mm reach is too short for me. I ride a V2 Ripmo with a 35mm stem...perfect for me. Short story is find your magic reach number.....otherwise crazy short stem can help in your case.
How tall are you? I am 5’11” and really struggling with if I should go Large or Medium Ripmo. And then I see you switch between the two.. haha would love to hear your comparison
I'm 5' 91/2" on a medium Ripley and could go for the large. Right in between. (WAS at max OEM dropper post height with 170mm cranks. Now have a spare 1/4" with 175's.) Bars are a bit close and low, despite using all the spacers. Plus, I'm still used to old school cockpit fit, so I'm pretty sure a large would fit the bill.
@@dudeonbike800 I am going to end up getting a 180 dropper to help with the seat tube length. Also in my experience bikes with a short rear center and a long front center go straight great, but just don't corner as well. A 460 reach seems to be my sweet spot, that's why I chose the medium.
@@mike_millard you are in the same bike size purgatory as me at 5’11”. I am the same way and tend to go medium for more control/follow closer to my RAD. @@austinmcguff1898 I looked at the Evil geo and for the large to corner like the medium you would need 446 chainstays on the large. The front and rear center balance is important for cornering. If you only what to go straight through the chunk then get the large otherwise if you are planning to turn go with the medium. There are many pros that ride smaller bikes for the cornering performance. I look at it as if you are going to have a long front center then you need a long rear center too, it makes a long bike but one that corners well. You don't see moto GP racers on choppers, although a chopper class would be hilarious!
Good to see you practicing your jumps. Definitely looking a little more confident in trying. Keep up the progress brother. Great vid
Always giving it a go! Thanks Kevin

If you've never been to a chiropractor, it's definitely worth a shot. They can't fix everything, but they worked miracles for me.
@@ctsingletrack I'll definitely give it a go once I test negative. Hard to hit the trails when your back feels like a mess of tangled ropes😂

Thanks for making it fun!!
Glad you got some new footage of the dude with brass balls. Not to be confused with the "my balls hurt" dude :)
Hahahahahahaha!!! Brass balled dropbar ninja reporting for doodie! 😅
WOW, serious talent and speed there; I have watched a few BIKESOMM vids but i didn't realize he was such a good rider
He's the man!
I love that everyone is mic'd in this. Feels like a party!
I noticed that, how does that work? Are the mics connected via Bluetooth to the cam? What's the range? This is cool
Giving it the old "like, comment, and watch-to-the-end-of-the-video" trifecta.
Thanks for the heads up about this trail - I live in Alameda and have been trying to explore the Marin/Napa counties more.

Oh man! I've only ridden Anguin once and got absolutely DESTROYED! I definitely need to make it back out there for a redemption ride.
Those 2 with you where pretty awesome riders!

I used to do the NVDC and Howell Mt. Challenge back in the day and wow the trails have gotten way more technical since then.
Definitely!!
I’m 5’-11” and my last bike was a large. Current bike is a medium. I think I’ll always be on mediums for the foreseeable future.

“Jubilee Tingler”. What in the world!? That had better be a name of a trail over at Everstoke eventually.

What's up Sean!!! Good hangin' with ya in Oakland a few weeks ago... Looking forward to riding with ya'll in DC!
My friend and I snuck through a couple gates over there and rode around the airport. There's some really cool secret trails, was a good day.
This was so sick 🔥! Bro was in a tree I'm glad he was able to ride away from it 💪🏾 fantastic riding everyone 🤙🏾💯
Hahaha, it happens!
Napa county is super underrated for mtb. There are like 5 solid trail systems all within a 10-30 min drive
So true.. people overlook Napa as a Wine And Food destination, but from where I live in DT Napa I have about 7 total parks within a 30-40 min drive
Fun time , excellent watching !! ✌

Looking good on those drops, and your bike did sound a lot quieter than the others on those landings.

To keep the load a little lighter I drink about 32 oz. right before the ride, it makes a big difference.
