Love the chapter by chapter commentary! I read Ove for the first time last year (And My Grandmother said to tell you she's sorry this year) and loved it. The quote about ' She was color. All the color he had.' is my favorite line in the book.
I wish I had thought of the accessibility options when my kids were younger. That would have been amazing! I have only read Anxious People by this author and unfortunately I didn't like it, but that very well could've have been impacted by the narrator. It was written to be repetitive with new, subtle details each time but it drove me crazy. However, this book sounds like something I would like. Great video...your family is beautiful.
This was so fun! I love the Allenisms (& Christinaisms). I really want to read the book. The MC also reminds of the main character from Up (the Pixar movie). Looking forward to part 2!

I love this so so much!! Thank you for taking the time to share with us, Christina! It can be a struggle to find hands-free ways to keep occupied with a new baby, but this is a great idea. While Allen definitely has some "Ove-isms", I think one of the biggest differences is that Allen's grumpiness seem to come from believing in the best in humanity but then being let down, whereas Ove has no faith in humanity. I love seeing where the overlap is! But, I honestly think we all can relate to Ove on some level! 🤣
What an interesting thought! I wonder if Ove may have started out that way, and through his life experiences just gave up on even hoping everyone would just do the right thing.
