      I have a Eskie and to much fir me. House broken. Has papers very smart dog.. need to remove for free. I'm to old to keep up with her. Love children and only takes a minute to warm up to other pets. If you know anybody that wants her can have her. Just someone that will love her. Let me know.

    • @ajfoxw
      @ajfoxw 11 месяцев назад

      It's sad that you have to re-home your dog. I know because we had to do that once too. I don't know what part of the country you live in but I'm sure there are lots and lots of people who would want her. If you read some of the comments below a person is asking where she could find an Eskie. You can make sure your dog goes to someone who knows how Eskies behave and how to treat her. They're smart and if they don't get enough play and exercise (a walk every day and maybe more) they can become very mischeivious. It really does take good health and strength to keep up with them and to wear down some of their happy energy. I'm too old too and I wanted another Eskie but I have to admit we can't get another one. I know you will find a good home for her if you get the word out in your area. Good luck to both of you! @@robertlburleson849

    My first Eskimo was docile like yours. But my second was blazing fast and would run faster than any dog I have ever scene. He could jump 10 ft and about 3 foot high. He was such a daddy’s boy. Making their food makes a bid difference in their coat and energy. We free feed both and they stayed a healthy weight without any intervention from use.
    They are smart and clever. And like to stay clean.
    Great dogs who always want to please you and be in your company. A great family dog

What an ideal setting you live in. Love the soft sided car keeper. Um, you do know that a dog's sense of smell is 10,000 times stronger than yours, making her a hide and seek winner every time! I have met a few other eskies and talked with random people I've bumped into who had eskies in the past. It's fair to say they are among the most barky breeds. So yes, if you get an Eskie there's a good chance that excessive barking will become part of your daily life. Abbie is also very possessive of her people, her home and her toys. She doesn't like to share.

    I've had two Eskies and I have an application in for a rescue Eskie. This reminds me so much of my two, always checking where I was, never interested in letting me out of their sight or running away. The first was a girl and sweet and obedient. The second was the opposite, bossy and a terror but he was my shadow. I lost him at 14 about 6 months ago.

    My Romeo lived 13 years, it's been 4 years he passed away and there is not a single day in my life that I don't miss him. I feel that part of me died with him and it is so hard that I can't barely write this letter. Why such wonderful animals can have the life span of a Parrot and live 50 or 60 years? I want to have another dog but I'm afraid that if I go thru with the same ache in my heart that I have of losing Romeo, I will have a heart attack. You may not think well of me but I feel more love for my Romeo than most of my family members if not all. May you all be blessed with a happy and healthy dog for a long time.

I'd say I get more stressed out due to not being around her with my 9-5 job lol. So if you can spend the time with them, within reason (it's not like they can't be alone ever), they are the best.

    If you take your critter to a dog park do the following, shave the hair on the pads of their paws and any long hair on their paws that touches the ground. Also wash their paws before putting them back into their crate. Dogs will always lick their paws so doing these two things will minimizes them from contracting an illness.

    If I knew what I’m about to tell you sooner I think both my Toy Eskis would not had died from cancer. When we are ready to get another one I going to feed them better. We free feed them Blue because it was so highly recommended. But in the last 3 or 4 months of Bears life I feed him chicken breast, bacon and eggs. Within a couple of weeks his coat got noticeable silkier and softer. He had more energy and he could jump a little higher. Try feeding yours fresh food. I was to late in doing so but I knew he felt a little better before he passed away. I won’t make that mistake again, it will be fresh homemade dog food. Just try it for six weeks and see how much better they look and feel. They were so precious to me and my wife.

    • @AbbieTheEskie
      @AbbieTheEskie  Год назад +1

      The majority of Abbie's diet is fresh whole foods. Every 6 weeks I spend a day making a massive pot of food containing a wide range of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes etc. We scoop out about 80-90 balls and freeze them. We thaw 2 every night for the next day and she eats them with some plant based kibble on the side so her teeth have something to crunch. I would never dream of feeding her bacon and eggs.

      @@AbbieTheEskie I’ve looked at several Eski videos but if I remember correctly I saw you guys making his food which is what caused me to write my thoughts on this issue. I think everyone would benefit from your recipe if you don’t mind posting it. I know I would because I waited too late and I didn’t switch Bears diet until the last few months of his life. Your video has me and my wife thinking about getting an Eskimo pup, so thank you for getting us to talk about it. If you do post your recipe I plan to print it for my future Eskimo. Thanks again for posting your video.

    How easy or difficult was it to train your Eskie to be off leash?

    • @AbbieTheEskie
      @AbbieTheEskie  3 года назад +1

      It was very easy. She's extremely loyal to us and by choice she doesn't like to be too far away. That's something we're very lucky with. We only have to leash her when we go for walks away from home. The rest of the time we never worry about her being free. I could never imagine her running off anywhere.

    • @Bioeliful153
      @Bioeliful153 3 года назад

      @@AbbieTheEskie that's what I am looking for, I have Siberian huskies, they are gorgeous but they are escape artists. I have trained them and now I know If they escape from the leash I can get them back...but they run far before coming back and that can be dangerous. Many huskies have been lost and never come back because is not in their instinct to watch or search for their humans, they prefer to hunt.

    • @AbbieTheEskie
      @AbbieTheEskie  3 года назад +1

      Yeah I understand. I've had some experience with whippets and poodles and the poodle tended to run off quite far, only coming back when he felt like he was ready. And the whippets need to be leashed almost all the time. They will chase a squirrel or cat out onto the road and beyond.
      I can't speak for all Eskies but Abbie is like a velcro dog, stuck to her owner's side. Sometimes we distract her then run and hide behind a tree. After a few seconds she realises we are gone and she runs around in a mild panic searching for us. They are very loyal dogs but the barking is extremely challenging for many Eskie owners.

      @@AbbieTheEskie My Eskie, Kodi, is 11 years old. One thing he has always been is "velcro," especially with me. If I go out without him, my husband says he waits by the door, watching for me to come back. He's territorial and doesn't like other people. He's my second Eskie. The first one, a female, was not territorial and liked everyone. She passed at 14 of cancer. They both barked at any sound, so while they bark a lot, they're great watchdogs. Kodi is lying right by my side as I sit here.
