- The Mod 2 from Modern Modular recently went viral and people have been asking where it’s available. Earlier this month I went to see it near Edmonton and while I was there I say down with the co founder of Modern Modular to find out more about the company and their Prefab Homes. In this video I sit down with the co founder and hear about who they are, what they’re building and some of their plans going forward. The 1200 has a nice layout, bedrooms away from the kitchen are important for Health & Safety reasons. Impressive, solid construction.
Washer,Dryer, Up right refrigerator....so your not bending down to the floor to a small fridge.

Really liked this from start to finish, the exterior to interior. For the product, the pricing is NOT outrageous, compared to US West coast options, which seem to add $50K to $100K for what Modern Modular is offering. Ready to search their website! I remember you said before you could get a larger refrigerator since the one shown was the small under the counter model.
I'm afraid the smaller model would barely hold three days worth of ice cream !
I always like to see the floor plans but it was a little hard to tell where the larger refrigerator would be.
Always a smart idea to arrange the floor plan to eliminate the need for a hallway. 👍

In the future, can you find out if the various builders do custom modifications or if they just sell what they build and that's it? For example, I want this window moved to this wall, an exterior door in the 2nd bedroom, a tub shower, etc.

Thanks for showing this Kerry! This was ok but not exciting. The largest has a nice design with that deck. With so many senior women today having to share space and expenses it's nice to see these homes being built with equal size bedrooms at both ends for privacy separated by a kitchen and living room. Keep up the good work!

Thanks. I usually want to know more about the insulation R value. It makes more difference than most people realize in their utility bills, just like the outlay for window treatments on huge windows are a concern for most entry-level homebuyers . Modular homes are the way out of the housing crisis. I've also been posting your vids on X, trying to interest my home state in modular state park cabins. Oklahoma has 15 different climate regions, and the wide range of builders you visit is perfect to supply an appropriate base unit for any or all. It's a great way to have people come sample home styles for climate proofing rural properties in general.

In my opinion, they are doing a great job and it seems really promising! On the other part, it's expensive but I am sure they will find new way to lower the price if their plan, in the near future, is to open their market to a wider range/buyers.

How Come all elitist types , wants to keep normal people in small boxes ? Try to sell your modular homes in LA to rich people, why not let them live on 240 sq feet, the problem is, those who build homes and sell homes are earning vast amount of money together with money lenders, my generation is probably the last or close to last that will own a decent home. Where will you build those homes, in New York or San Francisco, where is land cheap enough
