Great upload. Do you sell or trade tapes? I would really like this one. Also you should consider making an Internet archive account. You can post many things there that would be copyrighted here
Thank you for sharing these commercials. I was going to ask if the full episodes were anywhere but I see the no requests part, so could I ask if I could clip the daytime lineup commercial? I'd give you credit.
I'm sorry, but I don't upload any full episodes from the tapes that I have because of copyright issues, and I'm unaware of any other place they would be uploaded. On the subject of the lineup commercial-sure, you can clip it. I appreciate the credit.
@@Channel37TV I also meant to say, if there was ever anything you wanted to upload in full, I know some use Internet Archives. Not sure if it works though as I've never tried it myself. Thanks again.
You may be off on your dating by a month. Water Cronkite would have still been anchor of the CBS Evening News in February 1981. Cronkite retired on March 6 with Dan Rather (in the promo at 14:30) took over on March 9.
Thanks for the info. In dating this video, I was going by the regular programming promos, but since you pointed out that Rather took over the anchor position in March, that suggests this was recorded in the summer off-season, when the primetime shows would have been in reruns. Additionally, upon further research, "CBS Reports: The Defense of the United States" would have started airing June 14, 1981, so using that as my new reference point, I have updated the airdates of these commercial breaks to June 8 & 12, 1981.
@@Channel37TV Also, the daytime-schedule changes that are mentioned in those network promos went into effect on June 8th. P&G was so displeased at what CBS did here with Search for Tomorrow that the show went over to NBC (and back into its longtime timeslot) the following year.
The summer of 1981 closing was the Emmy slowly turning in all of its glory. I have 1981 episodes of GL presenting this.
Love this - thank you!!!!
I love those old Proctor and Gamble commercials and some of those products not even around no more.
I have many of these product samples in my vintage P&G collection.
The great Joan Copeland as Mrs. Lamont in the Minute Rice commercial.
At 26:16 I love that Gillette Just Whistle women's razor commercial. In 1982, Daisy is Gillette's women's razor.
4:48 - Lou Grant promo - That's Emilio Delgado (Luis, on "Sesame Street") on the phone.
The Gillette Just Whistle ladies razor is a great commercial. In the present year Venus is the new ladies razor.
7:28 Lester Rawlin for MCI. He voiced a ton of Dunkin' Donuts commercials.
12:31 Jake Holmes sings the Country Time tagline jingle.
Brent Mann Lester Rawlin also did the Benson & Hedges commercials I hope you will reply to this
@@sherryhannah498 Yes, Lester Rawlins did so many voice-overs from the 60s through the 80s. An all-time great talent!
Feed your family Hostess donuts for breakfast, because it costs less. Nevermind the health costs.
14;40 Forrest Compton of "The Edge of Night" for Phillips Milk of Magnesia. RIP to him.

6:36 Rick Dees v/o for WKRP promo

@@Channel37TV Thanks. Guiding Light episodes usually stay up, but I can understand why you don't want to take the risk. Thanks again about the clip.
