For some reason,this theme matches the area perfectly but it doesn't match the boss. Best theme on MMZXA anyway. One of the best childhood game(but had lots of trouble beating it at first).
pondwithducks Honestly, this goes for a lot of the latter stages as well as the Quarry. At least the "more developed part." -Quarry was annoying at best and eh at worst. Also that sub boss. I already hated the original machine (only boss besides the final boss in this entire game to take me a literal month to figure out and get through.) I'm glad they got rid of the spikes though. -Bio Lab was disappointing, so many ideas they could've went further with. -Mysterious Lab is understandable because it's the last two areas of the intro stage, but they could've done so much more with the stage itself. The stage was almost brainless to get through. -Waterfall Ruins. Why? Why would you structure a stage so that you fight the actual boss before playing the actual level? And why is that unimportant Sub-Boss that is never mentioned again harder than the actual bosses? Quarry is at least understandable since it's an intermission and Vent/Aile actually have a role in the story, but why here? -Undersea Volcano was just annoying, to be honest. I barely remember the stage itself. -Scrapyard was a literal mess of a stage, especially at the end. It's the kind of stage you abandon after beta testing. Who in their right mind thought that a long labyrinth filled with sometimes pointless puzzles near impossible to solve was a good idea? This game is already a Metroidvania! On top of that, the game also had the audacity to put NPCs near the beginning of the stage! Thank goodness you can just walk out! This stage is supposed to be the lake from ZX without the ice, why not structure it like that? And the worst part is that all the stages I mentioned all had (in my opinion) the best music in the game. Floating Ruins, Legion HQ, Ouroboros, and Control Center were at least decent stages though. The other stages not mentioned are the beginning and default stages.
Actually if you listen carefully, it sounds like Crateria in Super Metroid (in some part of the soundtrack) after you get the Morph Ball and the first missiles

When i listen to this, i imagine this: im walking thru a mechanized ruin, where plants are still living, and where a once great empire.
I feel like this level could have been a bit longer / more developed, with the container puzzles and everything. Awesome music though.
