Beautiful Aussie Noonan work of art. So happy to see something of this quality coming from Noonan on your show. After a myriad of doorslammer and top alcohol records smashed with their gear this is great to see. Love to see you give praise also when you are so accomplished in your field.
I’m curious how you got 540 out of a 4.8 block? I thought they were bore limited to about 4.5 and stroke limited to about 4.15? That would equate to about 528 ci. Thanks. Your engine sounds like an awesome piece. What did you put it in?

Hi Steve, love your content as always mate, here's me carrying on about our national treasure noonan engineering a little while ago,and you post this, love your diversity engine god!!!!
Lol Steve I just realized you're not a racer or a race engine builder. You're a true hot rodder at heart! Listening to you going over the machining Noonan does tells it all 👍. And damn I can see why you want your stuff to reflect that. I've never gotten up close and personal to anything you do but I personally think it looks awesome through the videos. Seeing this I can see why you're so impressed though. Can't wait to see the "beautified" Steve Morris stuff!
Absolutely amazing machine work now to mention one hell of a engine/you guys do trick Stuff I’ve been following you guys for quite a while pretty amazing set up

I mean it in a nice way but Steve reminds me of the mad scientist when he starts with his numbers, a font of knowledge in that Steve Morris head. Regards from the UK
The real question is when is Steve going to design a SMX Hemi engine that's all his? I know he would not have a problem selling them but he might have a problem keeping up with the orders lol.
He’s stated previously is not a huge fan of hemi head stuff. Obviously he knows how to get it to work, but says they’re easy to break parts and not as ideal as the more BBC style SMX heads.
Machining meets artistry but for a purpose, aesthetics are a way to remove more material reduce weight add clearance and increase visibility for inspection and installation/removal.
Those Noonan guys really LOVE their profile milling. Small tools and plenty of machine time but the end result is the tool marks are still evident so one has to ask, is the juice worth the squeeze? For something you'd hold in your hand inches away from eyeballs? Absolutely, since the customer will do the same. For something that's under a hood covered with fuel rails, wires and other ancillary items? Not so much. Fitment and tolerances are more critical in our humble opinion.
Motor is definitely a work of art and I was wondering if those motors have water jackets like your SMX or does he have a water jacketed motor in his line of motors
HI ALL Love the way you appreciate good quality metal work noonan use Hass ? just wondering noonan is from AUSTRALIA now florida i seen to remember something in Aus we used to do a lot of engine building barra was built 10 km from me and went to school next to chrysler's in adelaide and now we don't even build a car nothing the truth is $$$ say no more thx steve
I would think this combination would be fairly friendly to maintain at such a relatively low rpm for a HEMI. Even all iron 4.800 SS/AH engines with steel valves and 60 mm cams operate close to 10,000 rpm, so this should be easier on the wallet compared to the 10,500+ configurations.
can I suggest reaching out to motorsports tech and have them make you hub centric wheel centric adapters I've had my 5x5.5 lug to 8 lug spacers for 3 years with 37's filled with water and the spacers have never failed I've had cheap parts store studs fail but those spacers are mint
So I seen that Axeman has switched to this setup IDK what size procharger he is using. I assume he is getting a weight break going with the smallblock so my question is can you tell us if this is Axeman's new motor that you built?
@@rueridge7597 Did you watch the video where he ran Sick Seconds 1.0 down the track? The dude didn't have parachutes and still kept the car out of the sand on his first ever run. I'm not a fan of everything Cleetus does, but the guy knows how to drive. I don't think he'd have any trouble handling this amount of power.
Hi….Does anyone know 100% for-sure what coating is on those dyno headers? Do they just have a standard issue white ceramic coat (Cerakote) or is it something different that offers better heat retention or transfer? Thank you!
“HORSEPOWER” confused I always thought the Hemi design was more efficient in a blow application, after looking at these numbers your platform has put out more horsepower so what is the advantage of the Noonan?
@@beachboardfan9544 The rpm is held constant by the dyno at the beginning of the pull. And depending where he has it set, will determine the beginning of the pull. As long as he sees the peak torque number, he can use math to figure out the rest if needed. No need to pull her down lower than it will ever operate.
I just wish Chrysler / Dodge / Stellantis would make a production car with Gen 4 Hemi with 4.9 cylinder spacing, deck height of 265 mm or 10.433, 36 degree combustion chamber, 4.600 bore, 4.600 Hemi head , raised camshaft 70mm diameter, raised about 1.5 inches and last but not least a 45 degree ball nose head. That motor probably cost more than all the house’s I ever bought! Beautiful piece of work! You do amazing work!
With the blower, fuel system, and all the electronics. Probably brand new about $180-$200 k.
This one reminds me of a NPK engine. That 165 lbs of oil pressure is really good.

You can get the 4.8 hemi water jacketed. That is the combo the shit box of doom ran on drag week before Tom Bailey rebuilt it.
Yes. Water jacketed. Dominator from street outlaws runs one.

whats the purpose of the 2 blow off valves? does it have that much charge pressure that when u the throttle plate is closed it needs 2? interesting
