      How does one start who isn’t an “audiophile” but wants the absolute best quality I can get without breaking the bank. I currently own a pair of Sony WH-1000XM4’s and I use them wired when listening to music because there is a noticeable difference in sound quality compared to listening over Bluetooth. I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and of course that means
      I’m using that $10 lightning dongle to connect my headphones. I started using Tidal for my streaming service because I wasn’t aware that the dongle is only capable of a max of 16 bit/48 kHz or whatever the exact number is. I’m literally just starting to learn about DAC’s and other equipment (I had no idea it was all so complicated and so expensive) I’m a nearly 40 year old fully disabled combat veteran from the United States. I live on a very fixed and VERY LOW INCOME (I get less than $3800/month and that’s what I survive off of) so what are some ways I could START OUT getting into Hi-Res audio without paying a ton of money just to see if I will even be able to notice a difference? Any help from anyone is greatly appreciated!!

    Hi, great insights. About the battery life of the wireless headphones, do they really go to waste after 2 to 2.5 years? Cause I have a boat rockerz 400 and using it for more than 6 years, still works. Battery life have decreased a bit though.

    • @headphone_zone
      @headphone_zone  10 месяцев назад +1

      This varies from brand to brand. But in general, you would be lucky if the battery life works fine for 2-3 years of usage.

    • @headphone_zone
      @headphone_zone  10 месяцев назад +1

      It's impressive that your Boat Rockerz 400 has lasted for more than 6 years! Battery issues are a common occurrence, and most devices have to be replaced after a certain amount of time, depending on how they're used. It's great to hear that despite the decrease in battery life, your headphones are still going strong. Regularly charging and discharging lithium-ion batteries, as well as storing them at room temperature, can help prolong their life. Keep enjoying your music!

      It's great that you're looking to explore Hi-Res audio without breaking the bank. Since you already have a decent pair of headphones, the next step would be to invest in a DAC like the iFi Audio Go Link. This will allow you to experience higher-quality audio than what your Apple DAC can provide. As you continue to explore and learn more about audio equipment, you can consider upgrading your headphones or IEMs in the future, but there's no rush to spend a lot of money right away. Take your time to enjoy the journey and discover the nuances of Hi-Res audio. Feel free to reach out if you have any more questions along the way. Keep the music playing!

    I am all for the wired hi-res route but I think some fair pros of wireless have to be mentioned:
    1. Wireless. Just that. Dealing with wires can be such a pain. If you have pets for example - those wires are a prime target. We all have had to untangle earphone wires. It is a pain. Sure we can get more premium wired cables, braded ones - but they are bulkier and don’t easily get tied. I am sure every wired headphone/earphone owner reading this has condemned a pair because the cable just gave out at the ends. Wired headphones also tend to just stop working randomly due to said cable issues.
    2. Volume! Got a pair of fancy headphones? Great. Turns out your phone or computer doesn’t have the juice to power it to a decent volume! Fancy/good quality headphones need a DAC/AMP for decent volume. So yes, now you have more stuff to buy.
    3. What music do you listen to? If your music taste is basically just the Billboard Hot 100 or Spotify top ten, then what does Hi Res audio even mean to you? If you don’t really know what a hi hat is, chances are most of the modern pop music landscape is tuned to low res streaming in-mind and hence unless you fancy yourself quite musically aware Hi Res might not mean that much to you.
