Something that idk if it was intended but I think is really clever. Gems in Steven Universe can fuse together to make new forms. And at 3:05 Steven and Spinel attempt to fuse themselves, but due to to interference of the darkness instead of creating a new form with new powers, it has made this amalgamation of hero and villain constantly trying to transform as their bodies twist and merge. Idk if that was intentional but it’s cool nonetheless

*I just realized something dark, like very.* In the show, it’s stated, to fuse you need to be in top physical, mental, and emotional health. The fact that Glitched Steven and Spinel were even ABLE to fuse in the first place, was nothing short of a miracle. But what’s even worse is that, it’s the Darkness abusing the elements and ideas of the show it infects and making it so much more terrifying. With no boundaries, nothing to stop it, it mashes up abominations to do its work. Truly a great showcase of a concept. ❤😊
I think The Darkness has the ability to just use essential parts of a shows story or world once it has the characters under it's control, in this case due to having Steven and Spinel, it knows and uses a poorly understood version of Fusion I say poorly understood because with Fusion it makes a new character that looks similar yet different to the characters that fused (From what I've seen) and here it looks like an amalgamation of Steven and Spinel.
I do not think Steven and Spinel are fused it looks more like Spinel is wrapped around Steven's limbs and his limbs are becoming his monster limbs from the series finale of Future
Another explanation is that even if Steven and Spinel themselves aren’t in the condition to fuse, their individual personalities have been overridden by the corruption, which is already one cohesive entity.
I love the little detail that around 1:26 steven's shirt flickers between the light blue one he wore during the movie and the black shirt he wore through Future before settling on the black shirt just before steven starts glowing pink.
3:28 What's really sad about this part in my opinion is the fact that you don't know whether Pico is smiling because of the corruption, or because he's genuinely happy that Boyfriend is persistent on trying to save him and the fact that he really cares for him.
I love how Steven and Spinel say "I'm going to change the way you feel" in the song. Boyfriend was happy when Pico came to save him but that feeling was quickly ripped away once Pico started to get corrupted. I'm also glad Connie of all people survived, it makes the most sense with all of her training thanks to Pearl.

When The Darkness uses the line "I WILL CHANGE THE WAY YOU FEEL!" Might be like brain washing the characters into feeling sort of "good" while in the darkness. Kinda like how you get so comfortable in your bed you don't wanna leave type good. Btw anyone notice when Pico says "WHAT? NO!" You can hear the amalgamation of Steven and Spinel in the background laugh a tiny bit. Small edit: the Change the way you feel line could also just be maybe steven was almost snapping out of this corruption but Spinel took notice and a forced fusion with Steven to "CHANGE THE WAY YOU FEEL".
To be honest I feel like steven is more kind similar to his canon self while spinel is more chaotic and all,so when Pico says that,I sadly only hear spinel laughing
I like how instead of regular fusing (Where there is usually a whole new character/design when two gems fuse.) It looks like the glitch just mashed Steven, and Spinel together like some sort of play-doh.
To be exact, it looks like Spinel is replacing Steven's arm, but it also looks like Spinel is just wraped around Steven. I just don't fully get it. Althought I think that if they are fused, she should be also in a pink state, somewhat.
@CD 2021 I know. It just doesn't look like a fusion or an attempt at all, is not glitchy enough I believe. Mostly because of Spinel's legs. And the perspective doesn't allow me to confirm if Spinel is actually replacing Steven's arm.

Dang, I feel bad how when Pico showed up Boyfriend had like a confused tone. And then after 20 seconds the corruption grabs Pico. Even sadder how he smiles at BF before he gets corrupted.. You know what makes this even sadder? Pico's wearing Darnell's hoodie, you can tell by the purple and yellow color palette since that's from his design in the leaked animations of the official update, so that could potentially mean Pico lost him and even Nene, but who knows.
we need a pibby mod with pico as a survivor, or maybe the one replacing bf, maybe against a pibbified darnell and nene, or hell, even a pibby transformed cassandra
If these are just the soundtrack reveals for /Pibby, imagine how insane the mod itself is gonna be. All these moving parts and transitions between different forms. Not to mention the background getting a new element if Pibby and Connie showing up at the halfway point are anything to go off of. funny how the darkness always goes for the protagonists first above all else, as if it's building a world of some kind and needs the essentials first rather than grabbing the side characters they can wait, it'll go after them once it has all the essentials
it could also be because they have the most people circling around them since they are the main character, thus giving more people a weakness against the darkness by having them fight against their friend. this can also leave them weakened, letting the corruption get them easier.
It's because they are the most marketable, the easiest to be changed for a product. Pibby is kinda a joke about cartoons losing who they are by a higher force. A corporate hate piece if you will.
For some reason in the original I always thought the final lyric Steven said was "Why won't you run-!?", which I actually REALLY liked. It added heavily to the "I don't get it!" samples, and already followed the tone Steven set with "This isn't a game!" I do understand now obviously that the lyrics are actually shown that this isn't the case, but I actually think I'll probably just keep my own headcanon for that little bit because I like it too much.
I think this reinforces the theory that Steven has more willpower than most of the corrupted and the Darkness needs Spinel to weaken/keep an eye on him, it shows that Steven isn't stuck in his initial form in his series and instead progressively advances and takes the form of his present self, the video also shows how BF got his weapon Edit: grammar
@@seeb01 That could of been a driving theme with the song. We don't know why Boyfriend is in Stevens universe, it could be to find survivors to take on the corruption. And considering that When the song starts we can only see the outline of Steven it may be that boyfriend mistook him for a non-infected. However instead of getting instantly infected Steven is hesitant to fight. which boyfriend tries to use to his advantage leading him into his Steven Universe Future form (Perhaps trying to remind him of memories that he experienced in the future which is why Stevens form changes & also why he actually starts gaining the ability to speak with more consistency) However Spinel interrupts after the corruption senses its connection to Steven is weakening. Boyfriend caught off guard is forced into a 2v1 with Pico coming in to support boyfriend. Now with spinel being occupied with Pico boyfriend continues to try and convince Steven to save himself, which makes the corruption force spinel to fuse with Steven in an effort to keep Steven on its side. Pico of course continues trying to push spinel which inevitably costs him his life.
i just realized, Spinel have the rejuvenator, so if steven starts to regain his memories and starts fighting back she can just take off his powers Thats why the corruption chose her of all other gems to do this
What I like about the Steven & Spinel Fusion is that you can kinda see that Spinel is forcing Steven to smile, also her limbs are wrapped around Steven’s body… making him a prisoner forced to smile.
Poor dude's whole life fell apart before his very eyes. His world was overtaken by this plague, his usual method of dealing with his problems is barely getting him by and has to supplemented by alternate means of self-defence, and he's likely seen every last one of his loved ones get taken by the Darkness, with nothing he could've done about it but *watch.*
From the adjusted vocals to lore-oriented scenes, such as Pibby seemingly jumping out of a portal, Pico unexpectedly showing up, with neither party holding back...both the scenes and the music made it all the more thrilling to lay my eyes and ears on. Great full OST, Jake. It was definitely worth the wait. Can't wait to see all the other stuff you plan on revealing.
Since Pibby and Connie are riding lion, I think it’s one of lion’s roar portal things, which considering lion has the same power source as steven but weaker, I bet Steven could probably also make the portals
Pibbyglitched characters changing into different forms mid song has gotta be my favorite trope. It makes your heart sink at first seeing them like this but with them swapping through different versions of themselves (Like in here where it went from the OG Steven right into Future! steven or just other characters in general (Like in MLP with the Mane Six) it really punches you in the gut, like right in the childhood there. I honestly had no idea how this track could get even more better than it already was before but my god you really blew my expectations. It's also neat to know what happened to Pico now, poor Bf.
1:38 I really like this part. His tone of voice makes me feel like steven's still in their. and his diamond powers are helping him resist. And the echo of his voice makes it seems like he's trapped.
This was bloody AWESOME, the original was awesome and the instrumental hit, but the VIP feels like a whip of art. The music and vocal remix was awesome and I didn't expect Connie and lion to show up, along with pico I feel kinda bad, the vocals of bf when pico showed up were truly filled with some form of emotion. And when Spinel and Steven fused it was perfectly horrifying, like a true and ravenous virus, their vocals together felt so perfect along with the "you've gotta be kidding me" from spin. When we lost pico the moment of him was so fleeting and when boyfriend was ripped away it was just heart breaking. Overall this was crazy awesome you really out done yourself jake, please take a break now.
I love how right before Boyfriend gets picked up by Pibby, Lion, and Connie, you can hear Pico say "run!". I like that Jake added this because it's kind of like Pico is using the little bit of sanity he has left to tell Boyfriend to forget him and run.

It’s more like spinel rises from the corruption because warps make straight lines of light, lion makes portals but there blueish pink and no other gem can do that. I’m not hating but it’s just really confusing

Holy lord, the forced fusion was something I did NOT expect! Pleasantly surprised and super hoping to see more! I also absolutely love how it starts off with the original Steven before transforming into future Steven! The “This isn’t a game!” part is almost exactly how I envisioned it and seeing that Connie is alive along with Lion is awesome too!
Alright, It's 5 am but I just could not resist talking about just how fucking amazing this song got!!!!! So let me go down a list: The instrumental is WAYYY more active and lively than before and you can genuinely hear every emotion going through the characters body even when its already portrayed in the artwork(that's phenomenal btw) The concept of glitched entities being able to switch between different itterations of themselves is a really cool concept that you can see when Steven gets older and his shirt goes back and forth between OG and Future, really cool details. Steven bursting his shield and creating a barrier with the shards of his gem powers is straight up badass and the "THIS ISN'T A GAME" + "I DON'T GET IT" fit insanely well!!! The design for Pico is awesome and really gives context for why BF is the way he is! SPINEL AND STEVEN FUSING IS SO GOD DAMN FUCKING COOOLLLLL AND THE FACT THAT IT'S LIKE THEY FUSED INCORRECTLY MAKES IT BETTER,!!! IT'S LIKE THEY'RE TEARING THEMSELVES APART TRYING TO GET AT BF AND PICO!!! The "I'm gonna change the way you feel!" line (in my opinion) may be the glitch talking through Spinel telling the two to join them, basically saying "one of us" but only using spinel voice lines, brilliant detail Thanks for allowing me no sleep Jake and Pibby team, It's all worth it!!!

The ending explains why boyfriend has pico's gun in almost every pibby mod. Also I like that in the fusion bit it has vocals from the other steven universe mod he made which was MY MONSTER 3:06

When Steven says “this isn’t a game” I think he’s specifically referring to us the player, trying to say this corruption isn’t something to toy and play with, it should be taken seriously. Edit: He also might be referencing us when he says “I don’t get it” he doesn’t get why we’re trying to save him instead of running and risking our own life
Or maybe to Boyfriend, since he look a bit afraid and confused, but keep singing with Steven, like there's no danger in the corruption (since he doens't have any experience with it, if you see the final part, you can see he still tries to save Pico and almost get corrupted)
I have no words… The original song was stuck in my head for such a long time and it was great in its own way. But this… It’s amazing! Not only it has more action, it’s more revolving around the feels when you listen to it. I was not expecting Pico to show up in this. And I like how Jake interpreted the Pibby Concept where Steven and Spinel fuse but incorrectly. This is awesome. Amazing job! Edit: Wow. I didn’t know expect so many likes! Gotta say I love the 'fusion' design cause if you look real close you can see its not really a fusion. The only real change that happen is Beast Steven started too be tapped into to overwhelm and distract Pico so that he wouldn't notice the creeping floor of Corruption. As well as Spinel wrapping some of her body around Steven to control his movements when he started to go beast. I always saw Steven as being able to fight back, heck he probably isolated himself in Rose's room in the temple. So when he realized Spinel had been infected and that meant the Diamonds and the crystal gems had been infected as well which probably what lead to his mind corrupting his own body into beast Steven.
I love that the darkness couldn't decide whether to take control of Movie Steven or Future Steven, finally deciding on Future Steven since he has more potential for power.
I really hope Steven and Spinel aren’t conscious in there, that fusion CANT be comfortable. Would they even be able to UNfuse in this state? Jesus. Another banger, Jake! Im excited to see what comes of the other demos if this one was already so heavily improved upon!
I saw that Steven was changing between Future Steven and Movie Steven by the shirts. Then it stayed Future Steven most likely because Steven usually turned pink in that state of age or time. In the video when Steven and Spinel sing together it kind of sounds like they are saying get out. Also there is reference to Monster Steven and the face of Steven when Spinel and Steven fuse looks kind of like Cactus Steven. Also love the detail that it shows how Boyfriend got a gun. Also F for Pico. Love that Connie, Lion, and Pibby save Boyfriend. I am surprised that Connie is alive.
I like how steven starts out as he did in season 1, but as the song goes on, he gets older, finally becoming at the end of the season where he becomes a monster.
[Spoilers Ahead!] Everything about this is just perfect! The original Steven appearing before transforming into Future Steven, the Steven/Spinel fusion abomination, Pico coming in to help Boyfriend before getting consumed by the darkness, that last bit of Pibby coming in to get BF out of there, with the help of Connie and Lion, and of course the music that goes along with all of it! It's all just so perfect! 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Always thought he was saying “A game!” I guess not, him saying “I don’t get it!” is even better though, brings more to his character during this song! Great song, keep up the amazing work.
After watching this video all I have to say is, Jake’s content for Pibby is unmatched. And after watching this to beginning and end, the full version is so much better. I loved all of this, from Steven going into Future Steven, Spinel coming in to also attack, and then MF PICO JOINS IN looking drippy and cool as hell. The hype you get seeing him and joining Bf is fantastic, and you almost think that you’ll see more of him. And then, Steven and Spinel FUSE, which is so fucking cool. Finally after an intensive battle it seems like they’ll leave with the help of lion, Pibby and Connie but sadly, Pico seems to be caught by the darkness. Bf, obviously not wanting to leave his only friend, and only other person he knows behind (since we don’t ever see GF), tries desperately to save him, with Pico giving him an mirthless smile showing how he knows he’s done for. After telling BF to “run”, which right afterward he’s scooped up by the gang, unable to save Pico, leaving only his tears behind him as they leave… Seriously, what a ABSOLUTELY AMAZING song, the demo of this didn’t do it as much justice, as the final version is just that much better. Love all of the Pibby stuff you do Jake, and I’m here for more, great stuff always.
Honestly worth the wait, the amount of detail not just in the animation, but the music too is amazing, im and probably others are excited for what’s next in the future.
Pico showing up was definitely unexpected. But it’s great how we get to see him, and get a bit of context as to how the corruption got him. Also, that fusion between Steven and Spinel at the end was freaking awesome!

Great illustrations, nice work! Although, there is one thing I'm unsure about, I don't know if you can answer me. The design of this Glitched Steven/Spinel fusion is confusing me a bit. The animation in this video is implying that they are indeed fusing, but the design looks like Spinel is just wraped around Steven using her legs. Something that I can see Spinel capable of doing without the Glitch. I just don't know. It doesn't look like a fusion. Unless her torso is replacing Steven's left arm. That is a possibility, but the image's perspective doesn't really allow me to look if that's actually the case. I don't know if that's intentional, and sorry if I offend you or something like that.
Holy crap i didn't think You'll make the Change could get better... BUT LOOK AT THIS DUDE THE SONG AND THE STORY MADE WITH IT IS AMAZING! And especially at the part where pico gets caught by the darkness (or whatever you call it) really makes an impact. I dont know if anyone heard it or if it was just me but hearing pico at the end say "go boyfriend run" almost made me shed a tear. Something i analyzed after listening to the song for a bit is that after pico shows up, steven dosent sing. Actually, it seems that after pico shows up, steven is really unwilling to do anything at all and spinel is really the driving force that led to the fusion and pico getting corrupted as she was the one to say "im gonna change the way you feel" and not steven as he was screaming while they were fusing. Or this could be overanalyzing a shit ton. Nonetheless, amazing job Jake on making this song even better!
If this is the SU final mix, I can only imagine what the SpongeBob mix will be! The one we have took a little to grow on me, but it eventually became my favorite Pibby x Fnf song (at least until Dusk To Dawn came along). I look forward to the team’s next update, keep up the great work!

Personally I feel like it should've been more stylized after his Canon design, with the skin being more accurate and the hair too to make it feel more like Pibby which had different art styles, but I understand that he's trying his best and he has his own vision of how he wants to do it.
3:07 I think spinel was trying to fuse with Steven but since Steven is not fully corrupted spinel couldn’t fully fuse with Steven so she made Steven her puppet
So both spinel and steven had the same idea allowing them to fuse but since steven isn't fully corrupted they can't completely fuse so spinel took another approach on corrupting BF and pico and that approach is making steven her puppet

I really love that the glitch reverts the characters back to the state from the beginning of the first season to almost their last state. Pico struggled to escape but realizing that it is already too late, he tries to let go of BF. Also notice that Pico is wearing Darnell's sweatshirt and with a scratch on his face. Boyfriend lost his microphone and took one of Pico's weapons Connie and Leon probably have another path just like Pinkie Pie, Pibby and BF will continue to fight for survival Jake did a good job!!

The idea of forced fusion always greatly disturbed me. That one episode themed around the gem experiments under the kindergarten was traumatic. Wonderful memories to relive
@CD 2021 I would imagine that would make it worse as then it could spread to the gem. What if they had to abide by the “laws” or rules of the universe they are transported to. This would lead to them not being able to poof in some cases, and leading to new challenges the two have never faced before. Overheating, getting to cold, starvation, and In the case of her arm having to be removed, possibly blood loss or shock. This would also mean they have to suffer extreme amounts of pain when taking on injuries that would have usually poofed them, and permanent damage (such as not being able to regenerate the lost arm) I think it would grow peridots character in particular as she seems to feel invincible, even challenging diamonds. The shock and cruelty of the new world would harden her. As for lazuli she would have to learn she can’t run away from all her problems, and without Steven, we can finally get that whole awkwardly coexisting with peridot thing out of the way, and see their friendship/platonic relationship mend itself. Abandoning her again would be completely going against her character development. Though she’s definitely going to flee, it would make more sense if she took peridot along for her protection (because let’s face it peridot is helpless compared to other characters, whereas lazuli is the strongest non-diamond character. She literally moved the planets ocean, all the while being cracked) don’t believe me on her feeling guilty for her abandonment? Listen to distant shores.

Something that idk if it was intended but I think is really clever. Gems in Steven Universe can fuse together to make new forms. And at 3:05 Steven and Spinel attempt to fuse themselves, but due to to interference of the darkness instead of creating a new form with new powers, it has made this amalgamation of hero and villain constantly trying to transform as their bodies twist and merge. Idk if that was intentional but it’s cool nonetheless

In the show, it’s stated, to fuse you need to be in top physical, mental, and emotional health. The fact that Glitched Steven and Spinel were even ABLE to fuse in the first place, was nothing short of a miracle.
But what’s even worse is that, it’s the Darkness abusing the elements and ideas of the show it infects and making it so much more terrifying. With no boundaries, nothing to stop it, it mashes up abominations to do its work. Truly a great showcase of a concept. ❤😊
Forced fusions exist
I think The Darkness has the ability to just use essential parts of a shows story or world once it has the characters under it's control, in this case due to having Steven and Spinel, it knows and uses a poorly understood version of Fusion
I say poorly understood because with Fusion it makes a new character that looks similar yet different to the characters that fused (From what I've seen) and here it looks like an amalgamation of Steven and Spinel.
Just like the gems that were forced into fusing and became limbs...
I do not think Steven and Spinel are fused it looks more like Spinel is wrapped around Steven's limbs and his limbs are becoming his monster limbs from the series finale of Future
Another explanation is that even if Steven and Spinel themselves aren’t in the condition to fuse, their individual personalities have been overridden by the corruption, which is already one cohesive entity.
I love the little detail that around 1:26 steven's shirt flickers between the light blue one he wore during the movie and the black shirt he wore through Future before settling on the black shirt just before steven starts glowing pink.

When The Darkness uses the line "I WILL CHANGE THE WAY YOU FEEL!" Might be like brain washing the characters into feeling sort of "good" while in the darkness. Kinda like how you get so comfortable in your bed you don't wanna leave type good.
Btw anyone notice when Pico says "WHAT? NO!" You can hear the amalgamation of Steven and Spinel in the background laugh a tiny bit.
Small edit: the Change the way you feel line could also just be maybe steven was almost snapping out of this corruption but Spinel took notice and a forced fusion with Steven to "CHANGE THE WAY YOU FEEL".

To be honest I feel like steven is more kind similar to his canon self while spinel is more chaotic and all,so when Pico says that,I sadly only hear spinel laughing

I like how instead of regular fusing (Where there is usually a whole new character/design when two gems fuse.) It looks like the glitch just mashed Steven, and Spinel together like some sort of play-doh.
To be exact, it looks like Spinel is replacing Steven's arm, but it also looks like Spinel is just wraped around Steven. I just don't fully get it. Althought I think that if they are fused, she should be also in a pink state, somewhat.
@CD 2021 I know. It just doesn't look like a fusion or an attempt at all, is not glitchy enough I believe. Mostly because of Spinel's legs. And the perspective doesn't allow me to confirm if Spinel is actually replacing Steven's arm.

Dang, I feel bad how when Pico showed up Boyfriend had like a confused tone. And then after 20 seconds the corruption grabs Pico. Even sadder how he smiles at BF before he gets corrupted.. You know what makes this even sadder? Pico's wearing Darnell's hoodie, you can tell by the purple and yellow color palette since that's from his design in the leaked animations of the official update, so that could potentially mean Pico lost him and even Nene, but who knows.

funny how the darkness always goes for the protagonists first above all else, as if it's building a world of some kind and needs the essentials first rather than grabbing the side characters

It's because they are the most marketable, the easiest to be changed for a product. Pibby is kinda a joke about cartoons losing who they are by a higher force. A corporate hate piece if you will.
For some reason in the original I always thought the final lyric Steven said was "Why won't you run-!?", which I actually REALLY liked. It added heavily to the "I don't get it!" samples, and already followed the tone Steven set with "This isn't a game!"
I do understand now obviously that the lyrics are actually shown that this isn't the case, but I actually think I'll probably just keep my own headcanon for that little bit because I like it too much.
I think this reinforces the theory that Steven has more willpower than most of the corrupted and the Darkness needs Spinel to weaken/keep an eye on him, it shows that Steven isn't stuck in his initial form in his series and instead progressively advances and takes the form of his present self, the video also shows how BF got his weapon

We don't know why Boyfriend is in Stevens universe, it could be to find survivors to take on the corruption.
And considering that When the song starts we can only see the outline of Steven it may be that boyfriend mistook him for a non-infected.
However instead of getting instantly infected Steven is hesitant to fight. which boyfriend tries to use to his advantage leading him into his Steven Universe Future form
(Perhaps trying to remind him of memories that he experienced in the future which is why Stevens form changes & also why he actually starts gaining the ability to speak with more consistency)
However Spinel interrupts after the corruption senses its connection to Steven is weakening. Boyfriend caught off guard is forced into a 2v1 with Pico coming in to support boyfriend.
Now with spinel being occupied with Pico boyfriend continues to try and convince Steven to save himself, which makes the corruption force spinel to fuse with Steven in an effort to keep Steven on its side.
Pico of course continues trying to push spinel which inevitably costs him his life.
i just realized, Spinel have the rejuvenator, so if steven starts to regain his memories and starts fighting back she can just take off his powers

What I like about the Steven & Spinel Fusion is that you can kinda see that Spinel is forcing Steven to smile, also her limbs are wrapped around Steven’s body… making him a prisoner forced to smile.

His world was overtaken by this plague, his usual method of dealing with his problems is barely getting him by and has to supplemented by alternate means of self-defence, and he's likely seen every last one of his loved ones get taken by the Darkness, with nothing he could've done about it but *watch.*
From the adjusted vocals to lore-oriented scenes, such as Pibby seemingly jumping out of a portal, Pico unexpectedly showing up, with neither party holding back...both the scenes and the music made it all the more thrilling to lay my eyes and ears on.
Great full OST, Jake. It was definitely worth the wait. Can't wait to see all the other stuff you plan on revealing.

Since Pibby and Connie are riding lion, I think it’s one of lion’s roar portal things, which considering lion has the same power source as steven but weaker, I bet Steven could probably also make the portals

Pibbyglitched characters changing into different forms mid song has gotta be my favorite trope. It makes your heart sink at first seeing them like this but with them swapping through different versions of themselves (Like in here where it went from the OG Steven right into Future! steven or just other characters in general (Like in MLP with the Mane Six) it really punches you in the gut, like right in the childhood there. I honestly had no idea how this track could get even more better than it already was before but my god you really blew my expectations. It's also neat to know what happened to Pico now, poor Bf.

This was bloody AWESOME, the original was awesome and the instrumental hit, but the VIP feels like a whip of art. The music and vocal remix was awesome and I didn't expect Connie and lion to show up, along with pico I feel kinda bad, the vocals of bf when pico showed up were truly filled with some form of emotion. And when Spinel and Steven fused it was perfectly horrifying, like a true and ravenous virus, their vocals together felt so perfect along with the "you've gotta be kidding me" from spin. When we lost pico the moment of him was so fleeting and when boyfriend was ripped away it was just heart breaking. Overall this was crazy awesome you really out done yourself jake, please take a break now.

It’s more like spinel rises from the corruption because warps make straight lines of light, lion makes portals but there blueish pink and no other gem can do that. I’m not hating but it’s just really confusing

Holy lord, the forced fusion was something I did NOT expect! Pleasantly surprised and super hoping to see more! I also absolutely love how it starts off with the original Steven before transforming into future Steven! The “This isn’t a game!” part is almost exactly how I envisioned it and seeing that Connie is alive along with Lion is awesome too!

Alright, It's 5 am but I just could not resist talking about just how fucking amazing this song got!!!!! So let me go down a list:
The instrumental is WAYYY more active and lively than before and you can genuinely hear every emotion going through the characters body even when its already portrayed in the artwork(that's phenomenal btw)
The concept of glitched entities being able to switch between different itterations of themselves is a really cool concept that you can see when Steven gets older and his shirt goes back and forth between OG and Future, really cool details.
Steven bursting his shield and creating a barrier with the shards of his gem powers is straight up badass and the "THIS ISN'T A GAME" + "I DON'T GET IT" fit insanely well!!!
The design for Pico is awesome and really gives context for why BF is the way he is!
SPINEL AND STEVEN FUSING IS SO GOD DAMN FUCKING COOOLLLLL AND THE FACT THAT IT'S LIKE THEY FUSED INCORRECTLY MAKES IT BETTER,!!! IT'S LIKE THEY'RE TEARING THEMSELVES APART TRYING TO GET AT BF AND PICO!!!

Edit: He also might be referencing us when he says “I don’t get it” he doesn’t get why we’re trying to save him instead of running and risking our own life
Or maybe to Boyfriend, since he look a bit afraid and confused, but keep singing with Steven, like there's no danger in the corruption (since he doens't have any experience with it, if you see the final part, you can see he still tries to save Pico and almost get corrupted)

Gotta say I love the 'fusion' design cause if you look real close you can see its not really a fusion. The only real change that happen is Beast Steven started too be tapped into to overwhelm and distract Pico so that he wouldn't notice the creeping floor of Corruption. As well as Spinel wrapping some of her body around Steven to control his movements when he started to go beast. I always saw Steven as being able to fight back, heck he probably isolated himself in Rose's room in the temple. So when he realized Spinel had been infected and that meant the Diamonds and the crystal gems had been infected as well which probably what lead to his mind corrupting his own body into beast Steven.
I love that the darkness couldn't decide whether to take control of Movie Steven or Future Steven, finally deciding on Future Steven since he has more potential for power.

I saw that Steven was changing between Future Steven and Movie Steven by the shirts. Then it stayed Future Steven most likely because Steven usually turned pink in that state of age or time. In the video when Steven and Spinel sing together it kind of sounds like they are saying get out. Also there is reference to Monster Steven and the face of Steven when Spinel and Steven fuse looks kind of like Cactus Steven. Also love the detail that it shows how Boyfriend got a gun. Also F for Pico. Love that Connie, Lion, and Pibby save Boyfriend. I am surprised that Connie is alive.

I like how steven starts out as he did in season 1, but as the song goes on, he gets older, finally becoming at the end of the season where he becomes a monster.

Everything about this is just perfect! The original Steven appearing before transforming into Future Steven, the Steven/Spinel fusion abomination, Pico coming in to help Boyfriend before getting consumed by the darkness, that last bit of Pibby coming in to get BF out of there, with the help of Connie and Lion, and of course the music that goes along with all of it!

After watching this video all I have to say is, Jake’s content for Pibby is unmatched. And after watching this to beginning and end, the full version is so much better. I loved all of this, from Steven going into Future Steven, Spinel coming in to also attack, and then MF PICO JOINS IN looking drippy and cool as hell. The hype you get seeing him and joining Bf is fantastic, and you almost think that you’ll see more of him. And then, Steven and Spinel FUSE, which is so fucking cool.
Finally after an intensive battle it seems like they’ll leave with the help of lion, Pibby and Connie but sadly, Pico seems to be caught by the darkness. Bf, obviously not wanting to leave his only friend, and only other person he knows behind (since we don’t ever see GF), tries desperately to save him, with Pico giving him an mirthless smile showing how he knows he’s done for. After telling BF to “run”, which right afterward he’s scooped up by the gang, unable to save Pico, leaving only his tears behind him as they leave…
Seriously, what a ABSOLUTELY AMAZING song, the demo of this didn’t do it as much justice, as the final version is just that much better. Love all of the Pibby stuff you do Jake, and I’m here for more, great stuff always.
Honestly worth the wait, the amount of detail not just in the animation, but the music too is amazing, im and probably others are excited for what’s next in the future.
Pico showing up was definitely unexpected. But it’s great how we get to see him, and get a bit of context as to how the corruption got him. Also, that fusion between Steven and Spinel at the end was freaking awesome!
Spinel and Steven say "I'm going to make you change the way you feel " after that if you look closely you will see the corruption moving closer to pico and pico doesn't notice it until its to late and he is already caught in it and pico tells bf to "Leave Bf" and "Run" at the last few seconds of his life.

Although, there is one thing I'm unsure about, I don't know if you can answer me. The design of this Glitched Steven/Spinel fusion is confusing me a bit. The animation in this video is implying that they are indeed fusing, but the design looks like Spinel is just wraped around Steven using her legs. Something that I can see Spinel capable of doing without the Glitch. I just don't know. It doesn't look like a fusion. Unless her torso is replacing Steven's left arm. That is a possibility, but the image's perspective doesn't really allow me to look if that's actually the case.

Holy crap i didn't think You'll make the Change could get better... BUT LOOK AT THIS DUDE THE SONG AND THE STORY MADE WITH IT IS AMAZING! And especially at the part where pico gets caught by the darkness (or whatever you call it) really makes an impact. I dont know if anyone heard it or if it was just me but hearing pico at the end say "go boyfriend run" almost made me shed a tear. Something i analyzed after listening to the song for a bit is that after pico shows up, steven dosent sing. Actually, it seems that after pico shows up, steven is really unwilling to do anything at all and spinel is really the driving force that led to the fusion and pico getting corrupted as she was the one to say "im gonna change the way you feel" and not steven as he was screaming while they were fusing. Or this could be overanalyzing a shit ton. Nonetheless, amazing job Jake on making this song even better!

The idea of forced fusion always greatly disturbed me. That one episode themed around the gem experiments under the kindergarten was traumatic.

@CD 2021 I would imagine that would make it worse as then it could spread to the gem. What if they had to abide by the “laws” or rules of the universe they are transported to. This would lead to them not being able to poof in some cases, and leading to new challenges the two have never faced before. Overheating, getting to cold, starvation, and In the case of her arm having to be removed, possibly blood loss or shock. This would also mean they have to suffer extreme amounts of pain when taking on injuries that would have usually poofed them, and permanent damage (such as not being able to regenerate the lost arm) I think it would grow peridots character in particular as she seems to feel invincible, even challenging diamonds. The shock and cruelty of the new world would harden her. As for lazuli she would have to learn she can’t run away from all her problems, and without Steven, we can finally get that whole awkwardly coexisting with peridot thing out of the way, and see their friendship/platonic relationship mend itself. All in all, it would be a blessing to the fandom.

Abandoning her again would be completely going against her character development. Though she’s definitely going to flee, it would make more sense if she took peridot along for her protection (because let’s face it peridot is helpless compared to other characters, whereas lazuli is the strongest non-diamond character. She literally moved the planets ocean, all the while being cracked) don’t believe me on her feeling guilty for her abandonment? Listen to distant shores.
