I really enjoyed your video!! And even learned a lot while I was laughing 😂😂 great tutorial thank you for sharing!! And for all the dads out there Happy Father's Day!
I just got an 80L aquarium with a build in back sump filter like that. It will be Fresh water with Neocaridina shrimps that dont like too much rotation. How many Litres per hour should be the pump? Acording to external filters we usually use 3-5 times L/H but on this case that the pump is already inside the aquarium and dont need to lift the water 1meter up I guess 5x times is more than enough? I have some 400L/h water pumps sitting from a previous project.
Hello, excellent video. You can share plans and measurements to have some references. And of course that pump would be the one indicated for each size of aquarium. Greetings and congratulations.
@@AquaSplendor I was thinking it will eliminate the risk or flter running dry plus any noise related to the overflow trickling. Might also help keep more water in the chambers.
What is a acrylic sh*t? :-) 3:48 hmm, there is a black one... Luckily he has worn shorts, because he is canadian and don't know how to use a guns... 18:04 ;-D
@@AquaSplendor Thanks. I glued one piece only for now because I don't want to hit and break other already glued piece. I used tape like you and I left 5 millimeters space for silicone bounding. Cheers.
Nice one. I am curious to see how you manage the flow of the water to reduce the level of it. Also, did you get the acrylic from Amazon or a local store. (I am also in Montreal)
At that time I bought them on Amazon us, the "Frais douane" are super expensive, be advice 😓. For the flow, i honestly don't know, i go by instincts, and... seem towork everytime 😆, but i try a new design for my frag tank will show later
@@AquaSplendor very helpful video, but how do you know where (how long or high) to cut the slots or holes for the overflow, can you predetermine where the waterline will sit or is it a gamble? I was going to do this for a 60 gallon cube that I'm currently not using but it has the black rim on it and would want the water line to be hidden just above the rim. hope that makes sense, thanks
Random fitting I found at my hardware store, I brought my PVC/vinyl pipe with me at the store to test until I find I find something. There's a 90 Elbow + a fitting vinyl pipe to pvc, sorry I don't know their name honestly.
FIRST. 😛
Lol, here take a cookie :P

Not putting numbers. What matter is 1) don't get shrimps get suck up. 2) Avoid full blast with return pump, which is hard to do anyway.
@@AquaSplendor Τhe input is well designed with small holes and prefilter spongue.
The output will be a long spraybar.
Great info!! Another great video!
Thank you mister ;)
Remy you legend popping up here 😅

cant you just not make an over flow up top and make a hole midway in the 1st section with a strainer and it will act as a filter that way?
You can do what ever you in reality, at the end it's just water circulation. I try to avoid water restrictions in general.

Man the number of time i tried to say sheet... i give up over the years, made peace with that shit 😆
And for those "short", consider ur self lucky most time i don't wear that much cloth 🤣
Thx
You laser cut your acrylic, does anyone sell a precut piece for this? I saw the fiji cube, but really just wan the main panel!
Silicone sticks enough to acrylic? I used sand paper to roughen acrylic and I hope it will stick enough to work. On your video it just works.
Yup mine work fine, make sure to use a good silicone, they are not all the same
@@AquaSplendor I'm sure it is very good silicone on our market but maybe i need to let it cure for 12 hours.
@@linkflap1342 Oh definitely let it cure for 24h don't rush this thing!

If you want more stable add more surface for the silicon, mine is tiny for esthetic reasons.
Sorry frends sump size 24.18.18? And whats the Protein skimmer. I like the this aquarium. Thans so much

great video of a great project - cheers
what pvc parts did you use to connect the output pump to the bulkhead with loc line?

Oil paint or acrylic paint used.
