    This was so cool. I was looking for a video where it was built on grass. Thanks for sharing!! 💚

    Ty. I bought one yesterday, then seen alot of reports of rusting from the inside out within a couple of weeks and that rusty brown water running down the frame with rain water.
    I think I'm going to use a caulk/ sealant gun and seal any joints and entry points, apply some direct to rust paint and put the base of the legs in planter pots filled half way up with concrete. On four levelled gravel patches with a patio slab on each one. (Also putting on non- patio'd grass) 😅
    This was insightful TY

    I am awaiting the arrival of a similar pergola made by Aoxan and have been watching a few videos to get acquainted with the installation. It will be me and only me putting it together. Looks simple enough if you directions are clear and organized. They also provide a video which should be useful. I live in the foothills in the California Mojave Desert , definitely not rainy like the UK, but we have windy and breezy days off and on. I’m hoping I can opt to not use the retractable shade and may use a lengthy piece of shade cloth that can be simply draped over the top and down. 🤞

      Since it is an open structure and covering will act like a sail in strong wind. I highly recommend some kind of ground screw or anchor to stop it from taking off.
      Good luck with your built and enjoy the shade

    Hello mate - would it be possible to kindly advise on the width at the base ( not the top transversal bars ) ! Cheers buddy 😊

    do you think it will be stable directly put on grass? Is concrete needed for the places where poles are to build a sort of foundation. I worry about the going down of the gazebo overtime.thank you!

    • @BCreviews
      @BCreviews  Год назад +1

      I had it directly on grass and it didn’t sink into the soil. Since it is just metal with a coat of paint, I would have the leg/feet on a paving slab just so that it is not always wet to avoid rust over time

    could these be secured with bolts on decking or are the peg holes to small ?

    • @BCreviews
      @BCreviews  5 месяцев назад +2

      I can't see why not, the holes can be made bigger as there is still a lot of metal plate around it. The only thing is that it will need to be sanded and painted to protect the metal from rust if any paint is scratched etc.

    Can you do an update after we've had some rain? My concerns would be that even with the fabric retracted the water would just sit in the dips of the fabric and stain it. Also, those top bolts if you don't completely cover the holes, water will get inside the beams and rust it from the inside out.
    For £280 though, seems like a bit of a bargain?
    I imagine in winter, you could take the fabric off the pergola? how long does that take?

    • @BCreviews

      All of the above is true, I do not think this is build last and rust could be a problem. The canopy is the most challenging task to put up as it requires screws on both ends and a click joint in the middle. I had a play with the canopy this morning and it has pocket of water in each folds, closing it (collapsed) will take out most of the water. Now in the sun and will dry out quickly. Problem is long cold damp winter, already planning a easier way to allow changing of the canopy, will need some modifications. Cheap test but will it last 😆 not so sure 👍

    What happens to the water if rains. Just gna build up on top n then what?

      Easy job to remove the canopy for the winter and i put a smear of clear silicone on the bolt heads to prevent rusting , I guess it wont last forever but I paid £169 from Wayfair so its not bad for the money and its easy to assemble...took me 2 hours.

    • @BCreviews

      It is still standing but I took off the cover and the ribs since autumn. We had some crazy wind and tbh I don’t think it would survive the wind with the cover opened

      Could you say how you took off the cover. I was given this pagoda by my neighbour but the canopy is stained from weathering and I want to wash it.

    • @BCreviews
      @BCreviews  Год назад +1

      Not the easiest to do as the cover is fixed with the middle raft. Can be done by undoing one side and the middle raft and slide the poles out. May be spray weak bleach and rinse out on a small area to test without taking it out?

      Like most Indian call centers we choose a name which Western can easily pounce and remember. I am known as Benson for the last 30 years tho so Benson it is, funny how in 2024 we still find Westerner speak Chinese fascinating which I have been speaking and serving the community in English for the past 25 years :)
