unfortunately they were two hit wonders. aside from Walkin' on the sun and all star, people never explored their music even though Fush Yu Mang is a masterpiece

If I'm being honest - As the intro was playing I was becoming less and less certain of the new singer. I had never heard that slower intro so I didn't know what that meant (like if it was a style change for the new singer).
But the moment that verse came in - I got legit chills! The original singer is iconic but the new one has the energy and talent to match while giving his own flare. It was also a great reminder that Smash Mouth isn't just their lead singer - The whole band is still killing it! I'm definitely supporting the next release.

That's because the original vocalist for smash mouth retired awhile back and Zach is the new vocalist.
Playing live also always sound slightly different due to not being able to control the audio as well
Steve retired because he has serious heart issues and probably won’t last much longer.
