- 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄, 𝟓 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐: Defamatory comments about the political beliefs and/or patriotism of the celebrities featured in this video don’t last long here. In 11 years, I’ve deleted scores of such snipes. Not only do they go against the spirit of the song and this performance; they’re just dumb, clichéd, and as cookie-cutter as a gingerbread man.
If your life is so meaningless and empty that you want to whine and gripe about a bunch of living and deceased “lib’rul elites” who sang a song after a national tragedy 21 years ago, that’s great. But go do it on Breitbart, not here.
This goes for disparaging comments about the conservative celebrities featured in this video as well. Though no one commenting on this video in 11 years has made a peep about those celebrities’ beliefs (which should tell you who is and who isn’t insecure about their ideologies), I will delete such comments when and if they occur.
I’m getting tired of babysitting this video, and am not above disabling the comments.

Me too! I just had gotten home from the fair and it was on. I was 13 and was so touched by the events that I was scared to even go out to a big gathering that night. But walking in and seeing this on TV made me tear up big time! It was a Saturday night, I remember that part!
Who’s watching this in 2023? 22 years after the horrific tragedy that was 9/11/01. I remember how this felt, how much love and unity we had in this country for a time. Hard to imagine now.

Every morning when I get up, I listen to this song, I just close my eyes and listen. It relaxes me and takes me back to my memories, It is such a pleasant and soothing feeling that really prepares me for the day. I live outside of the States but my love for America grows every single day. When I hear the words:"America, America" my eyes fill with tears but they're tears of happiness. God bless, America!!!

This is one song sung in my church and somehow I can't get myself to sing it because I fill up with tears. I know the feeling. I have lived in America now for 54 years (Philippines) and I so dearly love my adopted country.

On 9-11-2015 today, Let us remember this just days later. It was much needed on TV, a nation in shock, under attack....Let us remember those just going to work that day. Let us remember the firemen and the police that gave their lives trying to save them....Let us not forget New York still had the Thanksgiving Parade a few blocks away as if to say, We Go On.....We salute our soldiers, vets and those who have gave their lives....and we do go on, but we do not forget, nor can we. We must be a just nation, because I live near a US Air Force Base that could wipe out all our enemies by itself very quick. They may want to back off and leave us alone.
How beautiful! And now it is 2021 and some of those people in that special "choir" are no longer with us. But life goes on and their spirits remain. And, whoever thought that lone cowboy riding his horse all over America would turn out to be the remarkable individual he is, appreciated and loved by all. His contributions, so thoughtful and expressive to our Country and the world are legendary and he is a great American Hero representing all of us and those who are no longer here.
Some of these have gone to be with the Lord since than. Thank you for sharing. When our country is in trouble we will come together.

My grandfather came to the USA in 1884 to find the rest of his family. He was only 14 but he found them in Kansas. Once here he never spoke German again. He was an American and so very proud.

It's 2022 and America is now Divided. We once stood tall as a nation of freedom. What happened to the adults I was supposed to look up to as a child back then????

Because, sadly, too many have allowed whichever political party to control what they say, what they feel, and how they act.
I was in college back then when my mom called and told me to turn on the TV. We were pretty divided back then (google "hanging chads" and "butterfly ballot"). I was even almost run off the road, traveling through a military town down South, on the way to see my mom. Guy hooked on to my back bumper for 30 miles and laid on the horn. But, yeah, it's worst now. It's hard to imagine that possible but it is. Back then, after the attack, we all laid down our anger and found a way to see each other as fellow human beings, fellow Americans. It shouldn't take thousands of our fellow citzins dying for that to be possible.
It's always been divided. Think Revolutionary War, Civil War, etc.

July 6, 2022 - Two days ago I attended Willie Nelson's 4th of July picnic in Austin, TX. On that same day, 7 people were killed in a mass shooting in Highland Park, Illinois. There I was enjoying music and fireworks with this song in the background on a very important day for our country. The contrast causes me much emotion. I came upon this video by accident and here's Willie and others singing the song I listened to 2 days ago. Thank you so much for sharing this video and an extra special thank you for your remarks about deleting defamatory remarks . The spirit of the song especially at the time it was recorded is what matters and it matters even more in current times. I'm sorry that you have to monitor improper remarks, but I for one thank you for caring.

Today is also a Tuesday as it was then, and also Sept 11th as it was then. I can't imagine 24 have hit dislike to this. They must be either Taliban or to young and ignorant to know better. When this aired, the USA was under attack and the USA in shock. This show helped to rally, calm, honor, encourage and give strength to millions across USA. The words became, UNITED WE STAND. That 857 get it and 24 don't, shows most people aren't stupid.
