One of my all time favorite songs. A song about the struggles of addiction and trying to find a part of you that was lost a long time ago through substances. I see two interpretations for this, either the person is struggling to get sober even though they know everything is a mess becuase if the abuse or what I see is someone who’s been sober for twenty years and they’re going through a traumatic moment in their life and they’re struggling to maintain sobriety in this moment but are trying to find a way. The first thing I ever learned at AA was you’re always in recovery.
