Comparing this with Silent Hill 2 proves what you can do with proper optimisation
This game obviously doesn't use PSSR or any form of "optimisation" for PS5 Pro. It's just the raw power of the GPU. The Pro is still PS5 console and runs generally the same SW. It's like having a 4070 and needing special "optimisation" for a 4070 Super. So the developers couldn't screw anything up here and that's why this game looks well "optimized."
Silent hill 2 developer did what they can its unreal engine 5 problem look other UE 5 games on ps5 and then compare. Re 4 uses its own engine.
RE4 remake looks way better than Silent hill2 remake. and It runs much better.
@@JackJohnson-br4qrat this point we can say a 4070 isn’t comparable to a ps5 pro
@@Motion_God Are you 5 or what? 😂
The issue with the Pro right now is the software. Lots of companies are scrambling just to slap the Pro Enhanced logo on the game, and it’s either half baked or doesn’t work at all. Then you have updates like this that are genuinely great for pro users. There’s just no consistency.
For anyone wondering, RE2, 3, 7, and 8 all feature these same enhancements, as well as Dragons Dogma 2 and Dead Rising Deluxe. Capcom really put in effort
It is not only visuals. The pro runs way smoother and cool than the OG and slim consoles.
How are you enjoying your mods oh sorry you can't 😂😂😂😂
@g.r.e1982 what mods?
@@g.r.e1982Why do pc players gloat about mods? True gamers want to play the game how it was intended to be played.
@MagnusVidson do you have it, buddy?
@MagnusVidson I have the console kiddo! And all the previous revisions of it.
There should be a law against developers releasing half baked games and charging us a fortune. Sick of hearing how we have to feel sorry for them! Test your damn games then release it!
Like Hollywood, Game Developers Didn't Get the Memo, That's Why We Get Poorly Optimized Video Game Every Single Time and They're Expected Us to Get Used to It... Nah.
As I said before..
@@rrasch8125 so this is a patch. I still agree with your statement in general. But you can’t sue or legally pursue a developer for a botched Pro patch. They don’t even really make money off these patches.
@ I am talking in general, not with regards to placebo PS “Pro” nonsense where they are simply spending more time on fixing the games they should have done in the first place and releasing them as an “enhanced” version - do me a favour! We are in an age where they release almost unplayable rubbish and we just have to take it.
@@rrasch8125 it is extremely frustrating. Making a game that was previously fine much worse is such a massive slap in the face to people who bought the Pro.
You should have compared the rainy segment in the village as that's the heaviest part of the game and that's where FPS tanks to its knees. Everywhere else in the game is a non-issue, not even Mercenaries mode.
I played on both standard PS5 and Pro and I noticed the standard console has more shimmering on foliage. Not a whole lot more but noticeable. I used resolution mode on both to compare.
The PS5 Pro is around 40-50% faster than the base console in this game. That's one of the best results I've seen so far. (If we're actually comparing the same settings and not confusing native with upscale results.) But the uplift only applies to people with VRR displays who also want to play only in Resolution mode. For others who use locked 60 FPS or Frame Rate mode, the difference is minimal. Considering the Pro is now 87% more expensive than the base PS5 Slim and in Europe it's even 123% more, it's still not a great deal.
Did you skip math classes throughout your schooling or what? It's nowhere near 50% faster in any of the shots lol.
@@kraithaywire *"But the uplift only applies to people with VRR who also want to play in Resolution mode only. For others... THE DIFFERENCE IS MINIMAL." So I don't know why you're arguing with me.
@@kraithaywire In Resolution mode the base PS5 dips to 48 FPS and stays in low 50s 2:24. In the same section of the game the Pro dips to 71 FPS and stays under 80 FPS 3:28. Do the math!
Until this day I saw no one commenting that the PS5 version of Resident Evil 4 Remake, in terms of loading didn't had the same treatment as the Resident Evil Village. Like, Village really used the PS5 SSD, the loading was literally non existent, end of story
It’s weird how many times you keep saying it’s not worth the $200 extra dollars. Then why’re we all here and why did you buy it. Clearly the Pro has a market. There’s some broken patches for sure. But that’s not exactly Sonys fault. There’s some great patches to pick from and Sony has done well with their patches.
Because its not worth an extra 200$ little brother. You might as well get a pc than pay that little brother atleast youll be able to see a major difference in everything
And not only that he’s a lie because if u see this game in person on the pro there’s def a difference in the graphics compared to the base ps5
@@DonnieDND I’m not your brother pal. Traded my PS5 towards it made the price pretty reasonable.
@@NinaBoninaBrown considering you can now run it at resolution mode over 60 FPS. That’s a pretty huge increase over 40-50 in resolution mode on PS5.
@@davidpliskin3330 I was getting 50+ fps on my Series X which felt more like 60 with VRR, so the Pro is redundant here. I'm not paying an extra £300 just for smoother frame rates.
I had a ps5 got the pro. The diffrence is noticable, you get 2tb storage, 6ghz wifi, and the frames are just smoother. Judt get it. But i would trade in your ps5 just to reduce the price. My mouth is shaking from graphics

On my slim, games running between 1440p, 1800p to 2160c at 60fps is more than enough.
I am sitting 8 feet away from my 65" LG TV and switching between Performance or Fidelity in games shows minimal difference, which is the reason why I always play on Performance mode.
The Pro doesn't justify its price point especially I'm a physical disc kinda guy, so not worth upgrading from my 1 year PS5 slim.
To me it looks cleaner less visible artefacts on Leon’s face for example but the high framerate feels amazing!
Fps FTW, need that VRR
I’ve been wanting to get into the RE series.
They're awesome. Start with RE7 or RE2 remake.
@ Thanks for the advice. Why not the RE1 remake first?
You could start with the remakes, they're easy to get. But if you want to start with the classics then you'll have to do a little search.
If you can't stand tank controls classic PS1 RE games will be a pain, I think RE 4 would be too
So the more "modern audience friendly" RE games are the remakes.
@ Thanks for letting me know. I have this play everything in order obsession, so I might try to get the first RE game and I’ve had practice with tank controls thanks to Tomb Raider Remastered.
@@suburbantimewaster9620Good question! Basically, you don't need any backstory to play RE2 because it's its own game. The first and second games have different characters and stories, but the second game is undoubtedly better. The same goes for Silent Hill 1 & 2, that's why they only remade the second one. Also, RE1 remake came out in 2002 so it's quite old and it uses fixed cameras, whereas RE2 remake came out in 2019 and feels very new.
Did you find the Res+RT = FR+RT? Mine yields the same results on the Pro.
HFR mode forces chroma subsampling (YUV 422 color space) which noticeably washes out the image quality. This is because the PS5 and PS5 Pro have a 32Gbps cap on HDMI throughput which cannot, unlike the Xbox, support an RGB color space at 120Hz. HFR mode should be avoided.
Doesn't look washed out in hfm on my 55" oled at all.
xbxo is capped at 40gb bandwidth and it can do that with 10bit color depth, ps5 uses only 12bit deps in any scenario so L lbox
@@garyr5866 You not noticing it has no bearing on whether it is present or not. Some people don't notice in-game stuttering either, but this is due to their lack of perception. It does not mean that the game doesn't stutter.
As someone with an 85" 4K OLED TV who plays at a close viewing distance (~1.5-2 m), it's certainly quite noticeable to me. In other words, that's a hard disagree from me.
@@Aid3nn33 10-bit Full Range RGB will look superior to 12-bit YCbCr 4:2:2. It doesn't matter that it's 12 bit if color space vibrancy is sacrificed by chroma subsampling (a form of compression).

1. A PS5
2. An Xbox Series X
3. A PS5 Pro
You don't know what you're talking about and are a rather unintelligent fanboy who can barely type out a comment in proper English without turning a technical debate into a console war for children. Imagine unironically using terms like "Lbox". Legitimately embarrassing.
@@Philosopheraptor You said it looked washed out, which i commented on. There was no mention of stuttering in your first post.
0:28 The size of the SSD doesn't make a difference to the speed.
It is the processing speed
I bet extra added ssd like mine 2tb might be faster then stock anyway 2 sec is nothing 😀
What does Capcom do to Resident Evil games to make them run so smooth?
Practically nothing. That's the magic sauce how to "optimize" the game well. It's just the raw power of the GPU and unlocked frame rate. So the developers couldn't screw anything up here and that's why this game looks well "optimized."
@@JackJohnson-br4qr Optimisation isn't practically "nothing", it takes time to get it running that well and sometimes corners have to be cut. RE Engine is decent overall especially with RE games which are all linear or in small worlds, but once you throw in large, open worlds then these consoles start to buckle as we saw with Dragon's Dogma II and Monster Hunter Wilds.
@@cun7us Read my comment again. I did not say optimization is always nothing in every game. I said in THIS game the developer didn't add anything but unlocked frame rate. So they can't optimize something they didn't even add in the first place. OK?
@@JackJohnson-br4qr A. That doesn't answer the person's question, and B. You're wrong. I already outlined why RE games run smoothly and it's not just the "raw power" of the GPU. It's the engine and the developer's ability to get it in that state.
@@cun7usI remember RE3 A that has bigger sections and the fps tanked hard on ps4
It's not 1800p or 2160p, since RE-4 renders halfway via checkerboarding.

Keep in mind that the highframerate mode make the graphics and the resolution worse
Better play on quality mode with raytracing on and highframerate mode off then you have the best resolution and graphics on a stable 60 fps !

Why does no one show the part of the game in chapter 5 where the weather actually tanks the fps lol
Does it do it on the pro?
Most people don’t get that far when they’re doing these sort of tests unfortunately lol.
Hi, can you tell me the size of the screens? I'm not sure if they are 42 inches.

Just played this whole game on the pro and it was amazing, also when inside the castle you get like 110fps which is pretty nice
More than 60fps no controller is not necessary
Why did it say 2190p for regular ps5 and then 2160 for ps5 pro... that game is not running above 4k 2160p

Ive okay thru the game again for the 6th time once i got my Pro it plays so much better sorta felt different running thu it playing separte ways again ..i think ima really enjoy playing mercenaries now
So basically its not worth it.
more often then not the pro will always be the better version especially if implemented correctly. this game re6 and gt7 and also last of us2 and 1 are good examples of that. not every game will shine as these ones just depends on the developer and how much effort they put into it. just look at stellar blade, yea pssr is struggling in some games as to be expected but its only up from here.
I mean, the game was around 50 to 60 fps on standard. Should be at a minimum of 100 fps all the time and usually at 120 fps.
Well, at least we get 4K more time, even if It's reconstructed since the stand PS5.
I'm not really impresses with this patch but at the end of the day, It's just a patch.

What in the world is this dude on about? Capcom has NOT enhanced this game for the ps5 pro. All we are looking at is uncapped frame rates, that's literally it. Dude, your channel has so much misinformation, it is uncanny. I recommend others stick with Digital Foundry instead.
105fps in 1080p is weak.
Fps below 44 or 48 , doubled with LFC feature to Help VRR Works better below minimum range support . Like 40fps with LFC in VRR is 80fps , so 100+ or 60+ is not native or real fream
its not below 40 btw. even non 120hz mode locked at 60, so its just unlocked frame rate. and same quality as 60hz mode. it is not fake frame.
It's not automatic. The game code has to support LFC. And most games don't.
I don't really care about 120 fps. While the regular PS5 can play at 60 fps that's enough for me.
same for me for action adventure type games.
