Lydia, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything look bad on you whether it’s oversized or cropped. You're right that it is overwhelming to try and comb through a giant website and I appreciate someone else doing the heavy lifting for me to make some recommendations. A few of the influencers I still follow on YT have basically gone almost all high end. It's totally their prerogative, of course, but slightly disheartening when you are still looking to them for some inspiration and guidance and you feel they are now out of your league. And while I can see your success has afforded you the ability to move toward some high end or more independent brands (well done you), you are still mindful of your followers who love your style and looking for help to navigate brands that they can afford.
I purchased the H&M Twist Neck blouse in gray (The color was still in the store where I am in Delaware). It is a lovely piece, especially for the price. I’ll style it with jeans, trousers and skirts. Another really nice drapey shirt is made by &Other Stories. It has details that make it look high end. I bought the ivory, but it also comes in black.
While I appreciate the general recommendations, you can’t really speak to the quality of the items if you don’t touch the fabric and see/feel of how it’s made. If you don’t want to order items and return them, can you go to the store and do a try on so you can see how they actually fit/true to size and the feel of the fabric?

I find it extremely odd as someone who used to live in the stables that the type of shoes I’d wear when walking through mud and muck are so on trend. I can’t really get on it. I think the simple ones with a more pointy toe are better, but it still feels a bit wrong to wear as a normal shoe. I really want a pair of light boots! I have struggled finding any and all shoes in the stores here seem to be black, but I think I need to check out HM.
Hi! Do you have any recommendations for knee high leather boots but with the grippy sole for snowy conditions (scandinavia!)? All the h&m’s and mangos knee high leather boots are smooth which makes them slippery and very unpractical. Thanks x

I’m not anti leather pieces, but sometimes just a pair of black trousers or jeans just looks right at some places…. Esp when u don’t want to look over the top, yet put together! Also love the muted evening wear looks! ❤ I remember my mom wearing shoulder pad blouses back in late 80s and 90s! Can’t believe it’s come back a full circle!
