    Nice video, the reasons why the number of bags reduces is because they harvest before the stem falls, which means the onions are not dried enough, secondly they do not dry them out to reduce the water content before storage, lastly the storage method is not good because there is not enough air circulation in the storage band.

    When will Nigerians move back to the scales standards . This is 2024, you still hear people using Cups, Buckets, Baskets as references. Even in Biblical era, they used scales.

    Middle men hoarding and inflating prices. No time did you care to show us the actual farmers who are paid peanuts for toiling in the hot sun.

    • @DavidNkwa
      @DavidNkwa  6 месяцев назад

      Well, it's the middle men who give the farmer loans to do the farming and collect the produce as repayment.
      So if you are looking to buy directly from farmer, that will not work except you want to join the middle men too and give loan.
      In some of the video direct farmers have been filmed too. If you are new here, you ca check other videos as well.

      @@DavidNkwa we have farmers cooperatives, anything outside that is exploitation. Please explain your role better and how your business protects or improves the welfare and longevity of the hardworking poor

    • @DavidNkwa
      @DavidNkwa  6 месяцев назад +1

      Farmer cooperatives? Lol, that's for the big man farmers these days.
      How many banks are loaning to this cooperatives in the first place.
      I have been around my brother, I can tell you that most of this farmers- the poor ones use their money or loan from offtakers(middle men), as they are not getting loans from the so call cooperatives or banks
      As for my role and how it helps the poor? First, mass poverty alleviation is not my job 😆
      These video are for educational and entertainment purposes. Those who find it educational could also leverage on the business opportunities to patronize the market which inturn helps the poor sell their goods.

    • @aco7194
      @aco7194 6 месяцев назад

      @@DavidNkwa Yes, mass poverty alleviation is not your job, but you can try not to be part of exacerbating it.
      I've seen your videos and they are great, I enjoy them and respect your determination in showcasing rural Nigeria. The thing is that in our food chain, the actual producers/farmers are often short-changed, the money is mostly in distribution and retailing leaving farmers in perpetual poverty which don't encourage our young to engage in actual food production, even farmer's children are not looking to continue with their parents trade because they are seeing and living in the hardship. Big retailers like Tesco in the UK provide finance for farmers but the terms are great and these farmers make a decent profit and their profession is not regarded as for poor people like we do in Africa.
