Louis cole is one of a kind. I haven’t encountered much music from this generation that is lighthearted, playful, and self-aware while simultaneously being profoundly deep.
Physical and digital copies have shipped today. Surprised they didn't leave it a few weeks. Not complaining, although I've received both my CD and Vinyl this morning.
Just next level sublime… his creativity is off the charts (reminds me of the unfettered raw artistry of Zappa and Jeff Buckley)… long live Louis Cole ❤
I seriously can't get over how talented Louis Cole is. I can't listen to "These dreams are killing me" without weeping tears of joy then he drops this jazzy ass banger? The next time he's in Philly or New York I'm fucking going I don't care WHAT I've got going on at the time.
@@blandeanders7433 Unfortunately yes, he had to scrap his shows until 2025 for some medical reasons, let's wish him a good recovery, while we keep making sure he's one of the greatest of this generation by spreading his love to music to everyone you know =)
I am so glad that I found Louis Cole and CCore and look forward to every upload and album. The arrangement on this piece is excellent and I can't wait to see this evolve even further.
Cool, thanks for releasing this, I had watched this song when the Metropole's channel posted it briefly right after the gig, but they soon removed it. Thanks for sharing, nice to see you cats doing 'Legit Straight Ahead Jazz', a nice reminder to the awesome versatile group of musicians you all are.
@@jaredlancaster4137A) I don't understand your motive for pulling a "well actually" on my statement of approval. B) What you said is not even 15% true. Most bass guitarist pros can hack out some upright but unless you're classically (or properly jazz) trained on upright, you are not going to be able to shred "fluently". Going from upright as your primary to bass guitar is relatively straightforward but from bass guitar to upright is physically very different. You have to play upright regularly or else the strength and position shifting go to hell. So while many bassists can fake it for a slow ballad or two, unless you play upright daily, you won't have the technique, tone or strength. Bassists that are equally good on both instruments almost always started on upright for their foundation.
@@WTHFX I don't understand your motive for writing a "well actually" essay. I did not intend to disagree with you at all or devalue Sam's playing here. I guess I don't know exactly how many bassists are fluent on both upright and guitar, I just know that I can freely switch between them and that several of the bassists I follow, like Adam Neely, are fluent on both.

100%. It is a time to be alive.
In the same way some people are agender, Louis Cole is agenre.
So well said
The swing in the melody sung on the word "love" but only the 1st and 3rd times makes that 2nd run hit so hard.
very true
Is there nothing Louis Cole can't make his own? This is some tasty, Nelson Riddle-like swing.
What's better than Sam on bass? That's right, Sam on DOUBLE BASS! 😎
Triple it
Jacob Mann with the killer solo!
Hope Louis get well soon. He's a must in our lives!!
This was so good. The connection between classic swing and his style of music was so natural. Beautiful
Swingin! Louis Cole is the 🐐
He just continues to blaze his own trail… combining so many musical genres… brilliant guy …
I stumbled into watching this live and it’s one of the most memorable music-watching/listening experiences I’ve had in decades.
Just dropping all of this on us all at once, huh? Right here in front of my crab rangoons?

“Right here in front of my crab rangoons?” is a phrase that I just don’t know what to do with. It’s so _there,_ man.
That's what Weather Report heritage is meant to be fifty years after! Astonishing GREAT music!
It must be a helluva thing to have music flowing out of yourself like this. Damn.
Every time I hear him I am more and more impressed by Louis Cole. And Sam Wilkes is a beast on the bass.
This is just fantastic, the "is it love" part is so rich
That look of joy on Marta Arpini’s face at 2:15 says it all.
Everything Louis writes is so wonderful, i get so overwhelmed when he drops albums 😋

Jacob Mann’s piano solo is PERFECT!
There's so much I love about this.
sam is un-believable. dat boi gud. and the vocal ladies are like the glue that blends the trio to the orchestra. so much care put into this.

Is there a even a genre that Louis isn't a master at ?
Hardcore bardcore?
He might be... I just wanted to say that, in my mind's voice.
I can't believe he got Stephen King to play harp for him, what an honor.

I didn't know Sam killed on upright, too. It's cool that you can tell it's him just by his attack and note length regardless of the instrument.
