@@HorseandMuleAdventureswithTraithank you sir. Just curious, why would someone use a diamond hitch/double diamond over a box hitch, vise versa? Is it just a preference thing?
@@DoubleKMustangs I can't speak for others but for me I use a basket / box hitch to hang the boxes and then use a flavor of the diamond to hold the top pack and both of the boxes as one unified part that moves together as one.
@@HorseandMuleAdventureswithTrai that sounds exactly like what I want to accomplish. I’m hanging Utah Bags or canvas panniers with a light top back that I want to secure with a diamond hitch.
I've was an exclusive single diamond guy for a long time. It did what I needed and I was fine with that. Then covid came and I figured it was a good time to learn a new tool. Darned if I don't like it better! Easy to tie without having to reach up on tops of the packs :-)
Thanks Robert for the video. Could you do a video on the single diamond hitch?
Glad to help! I think I can do that!

I've always been happy with the old trusty diamond hitch. I'll have to give the double-diamond a try. Might have to buy some carabiners too!

Thank you! Glad to share the info!
your hard side boxes look smaller, better size for smaller animals. what brand are they?
They are from custom pack rigging out of Canada. - custompackrigging.com/pack-saddle-accessories/
Why don’t you speak during the video to explain what you’re doing? I have to try to watch you and read at the same time. Ug
