It gets me every. Time. Esp when you realize that "the notebook" that hes reading to her, is their story written BY her. Such a beautiful sentiment, that she hears him reading it and she finds a way to find a way back to him. And the final scene where she asks if their love can take them away together. And he says our love can do anything we want it to. Ohhhhhh my heart.
the most amazing part of this is that Rachel and Ryan were both born in the same hospital 2yrs apart in the same town of London in Canada and absolutely hated each other when they started making this movie but during filming did in fact fall in love.
She is 2 years older and Ryan 3 actual girlfriends, including Eva are all older than he is. Sandra Bullock was 16 years older and Eva is 6 years older. He has never had a scandal and has never been accused of abusing anyone in anyway. They did not fall in love during filming, but after being forced to yell it out in a room they tolerated each other. They started dating in 2005.
"Does she make you as mad as she makes me?" Jonathan, remember that nightmare in The Princess Bride, where Buttercup is getting chewed out by that old woman? If I could crawl into that screen, take Allie by the arms and quote that woman's lines to her, I would absolutely do that.
Love this 🎬 movie, and I love it when guys don't have a problem with "chick flicks." My husband actually made me watch "Ever After" with Drew Barrymore, and it's a brilliant take on Cinderella! I would love for you to react to it if you haven't already❤Thanks Jonathan 🍻Cheers
They filmed in SC, but the book is NC from Oct to Mar. It was cold which is why you see air coming from their mouths. The filmed the parts with Ryan and Rachel after he came home from the war. During the holiday break Gosling lost 20 lbs to look younger. The director picked Gosling because he didn't think he was handsome. The interviews with Ryan from the time are really funny. ruclips.net/user/shortsYMge7qwQzQU
I'm 78 and when I was young boys did all kinds of things to show off, but there is no Ferris wheel scene in the book. The kids are younger in the book and they meet in 1932, she is 15 and he is 17. They do actually have sex that first summer, but most of the time they are doing what kids did, go to dances, go swimming or to movies, but these 2 spent most of the time in canoes or under trees with him reading to her. They are upset to separate, but she is still in high school. He is immediately looking for work because it is 1932 and the depression. He ends up working in NJ for a Jewish man who puts him in charge and he leaves for the war after making the company a success. After the war the man has passed away and left him $70,000 which he used to buy the house he wanted before he even met her. He didn't write everyday,, but a couple of times a month, for a couple of years, but her mom did keep them. She told her best friend they had sex so she keeps telling her that the reason he doesn't write is because he got all the wanted. It was the first time for both of them. She writes him every time she and her mother fight, but doesn't mail them. His friend dies in the war, but they are not in the same outfit. The guy who plays Lon said they had to make him more attractive for the movie. He was good looking, wealthy, but 8 years older than Allie and an attorney who wanted to got in politics and she was turning out like her mother. He worked all the time. From the description in the book, the author might as well have been looking at Ryan Gosling. He doesn't re-do the house by himself he pays people. His only friend is a Black older man. In the movie a Black man puts his hand on Noah's shoulder at his dad's funeral. He has an affair in NJ, but there is a Martha Shaw and she is a war window the 3 kids and a very rundown house so Noah and his Black friend fix it up, but they do not have an affair. The scene where Allie and Noah has sex after the boat ride is much better in the book. When her mother shows up Noah answers the door and she talks to both of them.
Love The notebook, easily my top favorite love story. Its definitely a classic. If you havent seen i definitely recommend: P.s. i love you, made of honor, the proposal, a walk to remember, sleepless in Seattle, while you were sleeping (its also kinda a xmas movie in a sense!) . Theres a lot more of course but those are off the top of my head.
Funny story, when Ryan and Rachel were together. In an interview he said when he would come home she would say, "Why didn't you write" and then he would have to do the scene again. ruclips.net/video/WGle4xRNPSM/видео.html
PLEASE have Jonathan watch All of Us Strangers. Such a beautiful but heartbreaking film. A lot of reactors tend to overlook it but I'll always watch any reaction to that movie.
Notting Hill, Pretty Woman and Bridget Jones’s Diary would be great ones to react to. Also Closer (2004) which is more serious, but I absolutely love that movie.
What a great reaction ! Since you seem to appreciate romances I would really recommend you check out Pretty Woman (1990) and When Harry Met Sally (1989)
You do not get why she is mad. You think she is going to give up all the money after a few months. She is a brat. He knows he doesn't belong in NY and he is happy where he is and if he goes with her he will be under her parents control for the rest of his life. He can't afford college and he thinks she should have it. She had worked so hard. Lon in the book didn't like or understand her painting. The part where Noah is telling her to do what she wants and stop thinking about others was an ad-lib from Gosling.
Thanks, Jonathan! ❤🩹 Since this bittersweet romance worked for you, try SOMEWHERE IN TIME (1980). It's so good and tends to be overlooked by RUclips reacters.

This reaction is everything. Loved it! You should watch Fools Rush In and Forest Gump.
The ultimate love story and it kills me everytime. I start ugly crying everytime when she says "it was us?!!" (58:29 mark) as she realizes the moment.
One of the most underappreciated motion picture soundtracks, ever.
You should watch next “ Me Before You” It’s a really great movie, it will make you cry for sure lol
And his little line he says to her "ill be seeing you " is the actual title of that song they dance to
I loved your reaction to Brokeback mountain. Really compassionate and understanding. You're an awesome man ;)

I freaking love that movie. My favorite version of the Cinderella story
It's not really a rom-com but it is a love story and very underrated is "Life As A House"

The book is based loosely on his in-laws and she did have Alsheimer's. The Fall Guy and Barbie.

I did see you in field of dreams to this 😂😂😂
Threatening to throw yourself off the top of a Ferris wheel will always win a girl over!
Subscribed. Love the reaction!

They were already dating in real life by this point so the chemistry was real.
Actually, the director reported that they fought a lot during filming. The movie came out in 2004 and then they dated between 2005-2007
@ actually, they were together like I said.
Please do a reaction to the classic love story, Serendipity..starting g John Cusack & Kate Beckensale (spelling??) it's truly beautiful and unique
Something's Got to Give
Something to Talk About
She's not married, so technically it's not adultery & I'd rather have given my entire heart than marry a man that I don't completely love.
Say Anything, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Jerry Maguire, Benny & Joon, As Good As It Gets. Hanover Street but that isn't a comedy.
Oh, Jonathan....no!
What
Swooning
What's with these chick flicks? you have like 7 more 80's fantasy movies to do

Yes absolutely! Love that movie & soundtrack 😭🥰
@@jennujor1551 Indeed! 🎶 I had the soundtrack and listened to it all throughout junior high and high school.
