Yes, this is such a great story. Grandma Death tells Donnie his biggest fear: to die alone. He has to overcome that fear: in the end he dies alone. He chooses this to save the ones he loves (and all mankind) and restore the normal timeline/universe. Donnie Darko really is a super hero!! Great movie - every rewatch reveils new details. I still love it.

Your reactions at the end, specifically when you realized where the jet engine came from and that Donnie had died were so genuine that I felt it with you as if I was watching it again for the first time. This is the reason people enjoy reactions, because we get to relive the experience vicariously through the reactors, and you are one of the most enjoyable to watch. Keep it up.
This version of "Mad World" by Gary Jules was produced for the movie. The movie was very niche at the time and not many people watched it... until the song blew up massively and suddenly was EVERYWHERE. That was the point when the movie also got more attention and recognition. For a while it was THE movie to watch, for people who wanted something to philosophize over (and appear clever), or if they simply wanted a mindf*ck movie. The movie is purposefully vague about its meaning, although there is a Director's Cut which lays things out more clearly (it is generally viewed as the inferior version). My interpretation was always that Donnie gets a glimpse into his future along his own lifeline, like he discusses with his teacher (so your assumption that the universe revolves around him would be correct in that case). But as the timer runs out, Gretchen dies and he kills Frank, Donnie decides that this is not a future he wants to be part of and he doesn't have to. So he stays in bed laughing, waiting for the engine to take him out.
Yeah but you’re leaving out how Donnie got to see the potential future in the first place. Potential future dead frank came back to apologize for the potential outcome he was part of and give him the opportunity to experience it.

Donnie Darko, Requiem for a Dream, Memento, Mulholland Drive & Lost Highway, The Virgin Suicides (...) - so many great, creative and unique movies in the late 90s and early 2000s. You rarely get those any more these days.
100% agree. The Chumscrubber and Freeway with Reese Witherspoon also in that same vein (No Requiem pun intended) heavy subject matter, made me look at movies differently and made me seek out and find some great films and actors I wouldn't have otherwise.
Not being funny but those are some of the films I go to to cheer me up! The Mechanic with Christian Bale, too. Sometimes it's just good to see that not all films have to have a happy ending. Let The Right One In has an ending that rivals any, even though some think it's uplifting. Seven!😊
@@LiberPater777yeah it did. I was working in Blockbuster in 99 and would watch 3 or 4 films a night. I watch a lot of reaction channels and there's reactors 20 years younger than me saying "they don't make films like this anymore". I don't wanna be the old fart moaning about new films, they are, but mostly I do agree!😂
@@DW.Strangeman I'm an old fart too, and yes, it's not as black&white as it seems to be. There are still good movies made. But there have been changes, esp. when it comes to Hollywood. Everything seems to be narrowed down to big CGI/SFX driven blockbuster franchise movies (and TV-shows) like MCU and Star Wars, and there seems to be less and less courage from the studios and producers to take some risks to support original and creative ideas. For sure, Hollywood was always about blockbusters, but not "only" about that as much as it feels today.
I loved your reaction to this cult classic. For me; it's always just been a love story. Donnie didn't want to be alone, and when he met someone who made him feel like something bigger than himself; he sacrificed himself so that she could live. Donnie Darko actually is a superhero.
The song playing during the party is 'Under The Milky Way' by The Church, a criminally underrated band from Australia... Tremendous soundtrack all the way through.
Jake had a good run (2000-2002) of Indie films starting with “October Sky” a year before this through another fave of mine, “Moonlight Mile” with Dustin Hoffman & Susan Sarandon. But DD will always have a special place in my heart.
A movie of interest for anyone who loves Joy Division is a British Independent film called '24 Hour Party People' from 2002. Staring Steve Coogan and Paddy Considine and Andy Serkis alongside a whole group of upcoming local talent like Simon Pegg and John Simm amongst others. It tells the story of Factory Records who Joy Division were the first band they signed. It follows the absolute chaos that the label went through over a couple of decades. Equally funny and tragic. Well worth a watch.
Love your reactions as always, but what stuck out to me on this one is that you immediately recognized the Echo & the Bunnymen classic, “The Killing Moon”. Nobody has ever picked that up on a reaction to this movie! Love it! Yeah, kind of a small detail, but I’m a 56 year old music geek, so that made my day! In addition to this being a great movie on its own, there are also some inspired soundtrack choices from INXS, Tears for Fears, Joy Division (who eventually renamed themselves New Order after the lead singer committed suicide - also, cool tattoo of the lyric) and The Church (“Under the Milky Way” which you thought was Echo again). Definitely some songs here worth checking out. Another movie with some choice 80s cuts is Grosse Pointe Blank with John Cusack. An underrated 90s film for sure!
The song at the party after "Love Will Tear Us Apart" was "Under the Milky Way" by The Church. That song is from the album, "Starfish". A classic album from that era. I highly recommend it. 🔥🔥🔥🌙
This movie was my gateway into david lynch and other dreamlike movies that leave you thinking "wtf did I just watch/experience" only to rewatch it again.
@@StrokeofDadJokes Yeah, it kind of sucks how an ever growing number of movies have completely different versions and having to worry about which one they are watching when someone reacts to the movie, since one can be so much better. Like for Donnie Darko, only 2 or 3 out of the dozen reactions over the last few years, have been the theatrical version. For The Butterfly Effect, with alternate versions and endings, I think in its case the DC is the best, but there's only like 1 out of the dozen reactions to it over the last few years. All the others are to alt versions. Now I guess a new sequel version to I Am Legend is coming out, so I'm seeing more reactions to it, but again every reaction in recent months all choose the alternative version, which as with DD & TBE, I find completely lesser in impact than, in its case, the theatrical I Am Legend. Same goes with Mask changing music in DC, T2 changing ending, Little Shop of Horrors different endings, and numerous others, but those pop to mind off hand.
I have watched this many times, but this was the first time I realized Cellar door is described as the most beautiful word in the english language right after thats where they found Patrick Swayze's CP stash was.
I remember watching this in 2003 when I was 17 and just started working at Blockbuster. This was the first movie that really messed with my head. I had to immediately go hang out with my friends after to shake it off. Such a well made film.
We saw it as a group of friends in 2001, also all around 17. We had seen tons of movies from all the weirdest genres together, so we weren't easily shocked. Still, it sent shivers down our spines and we were all in a complete rush of thoughts after that film and discussed the plot and craftsmanship of it for hours. Amazing cast too.
I can't tell you how many times and for how many years my group of friends would use the line: "sometimes i doubt your commitment to sparkle motion" with each other whenever we had disagreements about anything 😂. Its such a great delivery of a hilarious line.
One of my all time favorites. I got the DVD when I worked at Best Buy, came home from work that night, watched it, then couldn't sleep because I couldn't stop thinking about it. I think I ended up watching it again every night that week, So good.
Gretchen and Rose waving hi because they knew each other in a future they didn't experience, and the boy waving hi just because Gretchen and Rose were doing it... classic.
I've seen this a few times and this is the first time I've noticed that the therapist is played by Katherine Ross (The Graduate, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Stepford Wives).
Love this movie. According to the director/writer, 28 days and the world would have been over for everyone had Donnie not done what he did. It's kind of hilariously complicated, but they were all detached from the "real" universe when the engine fell. Donnie going back in time completed the loop, he died, saving everyone from the dying bubble universe. Frank, as a kind of spirit guide, helped Donnie fix it, and when it went back, everyone had at least a feeling about what had happened.
Thanks for watching one of my favorite movies of all time. Lots of people don't get it, or understand why I love it so much, but I think you do. It's one of the few movies where I immediately watched it again after the first viewing.
It is a brilliant film.....one of the very best. Superb use of music, Great cinematography and slow motion. Very high production values, great acting and really makes you think about meeting people in a snapshot of time...a fork in the road....Time itself and the notion of destiny. Very moving scene at the end when she didn't know him.
Great, great reaction. Thank you. You felt it. I remember being alone in the theater when it came out in the early afternoon. I'd say it was a mind opening experience (and a creepy one for large part of the movie). I was obsessed with this for a while also because there are so many good songs of my childhood and the 80's vibe.
For people like Coby and I and others between 39-43 who were in highschool when this came out, I feel like this movie speaks directly our particular generation. I didn't even see it till years later myself. Spend the whole next day and a half thinking about it and feeling sad about it. Even though it takes place in the 80s, the mood of the movie and political/generational relationships feel VERY 2001 for me. Although my own family was quite artsy and independent in nature, I lived in a town in 2001 which was quite conservative and conformist, and my best friend's brother went to a Christian School which required students to wear shirts just like this highschool. The public school I went to although public, was still very conservative in nature, and the stereotypes and characters were very accurate to some of my high school teachers.
Fear keeps us alive. For example I'm afraid of being in a car accident, thus I'm a safe driver. I'm afraid of wolves so I don't go into the woods alone at night.
It's not fear that makes you drive safely it's having some smarts and being in control, knowing what could happen. That's the majority of us and we keep well away from the dimwits who don't have a clue
I love the "world will end" prophecy was true, but not in the way most people think. Absolutely love when writers take things like that and reimagine them. My favorite book series did something similar. A character wanted answers to some questions and went to magocal beings that could tell you anything, but for a price. Well, the price was "half the world". He lost an eye. Sooooo good!
I can never really decide if "S. Darko" (the sequel) lives up to the greatness of this one (hard act to follow), but also well worth watching IMO. It stars Donnies' little sister Samantha as the lead (same actress - Daveigh Chase) years later after the timeline of Donnie Darko..and has a great soundtrack too. Totally different genre, but another cult classic you may enjoy is "The Man From Earth" (2007). A mainly dialogue-based set piece, but one of my personal favorites.
Thanks I enjoyed your reaction. When the two teachers just say Donnie Darko's name and smile. I always thought that they were sharing an up until then, unspoken mutual admiration (for want of a better word) for him?
If interested here's my attempt at a Full Explanation: It's about tangent universes - if a fourth dimension gets corrupted a tangent universe is created but has a limited life span (a few weeks). When Frank wakes up Donnie, and when the jet engine crashes we're ALREADY in the alternate tangent universe. Donnie was chosen (at random) to be the one to make sure the Tangent universe's artifact (the jet engine) is returned back to the Prime Universe. Donnie is given special powers as the now Living Receiver chosen to save the entire universe. Frank the bunny is what's considered to be a "Manipulated Dead" - someone who DIES in the Tangent Universe (who wouldn't have died in the prime timeline) who is chosen and sent back to the beginning of the tangent universe to guide the Living Receiver (Donnie) through the process of destroying the tangent universe and returning stability to the Prime Universe. The others Donnie interacts with such as the Teacher, The Chinese Classmate, and His girlfriend - they're all a guiding force known as the Manipulated Living who also help guide him, subconsciously, towards saving the prime universe. At the end, Donnie knowing his purpose uses his powers (Telekinesis for this event) to rip the engine off the plane and send it back through the portal to the prime universe. He wakes up in the prime universe thinking the entire Tangent Universe was a dream, he laughs and smiles and goes back to sleep thinking it was just some crazy dream not knowing the truth. Others who were Manipulated Living and Manipulated Dead had the same dream about the tangent universe and have residual memories of all of the events - which is why Gretchen and Donnie's mom wave to each other, it's why Jim Cunningham is crying (knowing what he is doing and eventually kills himself 14 days later), Frank the Bunny covering his eye, etc. Donnie saved the universe. Roberta Sparrow was a Living Receiver herself for a DIFFERENT Tangent Universe which is why she wrote the book (philosophy of time travel)- and also serves as proof that living receivers don't need to die in order for the Prime Universe to be saved after a corruption. If Donnie got out of bed for a drink instead of going back to sleep, the universe would still have been saved - but because he thought it was a dream he died.
I believe Frank was also a previous victim of Cunningham (Swayze) and used to Donnie to expose him, In the saved universe everyone seems to have some memory of what happened so Cunningham will face justice in the prime timeline too.
Everyone and their mother is in this film. Always hoped one of the names would draw more people into this crazy mind f masterpiece. *Cant beat real brother sister chemistry.
I watched this one night and then immediately watched it again with the director commentary. Really helped to actually understand what I just watched :) Director even said he maybe made it a little too unclear. The directors cut added in explanations to help but I think it distracts from the movie. Very basically, Donnie ended up in a tangent universe which was unstable, he needed to close the tangent universe and was given the tools to do it and frank to guide him to what he had to do. He had to reverse time and let himself die to close the tangent universe. All the things he that were happening to him were engineered to make him choose to do it in the end. The director explains in the commentary. The old lady somehow figured out how this process works and that it had happened many times before, explaining mysterious object that have appeared (like the jet engine) and things like Deja vu and it drove her mad.
You gotta check out a David Lynch movie. Lost Highway, Mullholland Drive, Blue Velvet and Wild at Heart to name a few. All really strange movies. I think he did Eraserhead and Elephant Man also.
You almost have to be pre-prepped by others before watching this novelty of a film because it's a mindfk that usually takes some time and repeated viewings to process. It's been years since I've seen it but I clearly remember being deeply moved and affected by this movie. It required multiple viewings for me as well to even begin to try to understand it. I last saw it over a decade ago so if you feel my take is a bit off that's ok. But I think it helps to see Donnie Darko as a film about a time/dimension-traveling superhero who like all superheroes, wants to change the world for the better and is willing to sacrifice himself to do so. I also recall the film touching upon the enduring question of free will vs. destiny. It was asking how much say we have in what becomes of us. Are we a product of our choices or just slaves of our predetermined destinies? This was shown somewhat explicitly in the energy fields that emanated from people's chests. But also shown in Donnie's journey of course. The rejection of the imposters, systematic institutions, and/or institutionalized, reductive, unenlightened, unreflective thinking that rules over most of our lives was also another theme. But I think the biggest takeaway from this film is that it was a parable about the effect we as humans have on one another. So wanting to change and affect each other's lives in a more positive and meaningful way should be a shared aspiration of all of us. The reverberations of how Donnie affected people in one dimension or timeline were felt in their beings even across another dimension in a different or primary timeline; as shown by the montage of reactions from the characters near the end of the film. I think this is to illustrate to us just how powerful our life's impact can truly be on each other. Like pebbles thrown in the pond of shared human experience whose lives ripple across one another. So we should be conscious of it and live accordingly.
I genuinely NEVER thought he has any mental illness when watching this movie. The supernatural aspect of mystery was always so much more interesting to me.
The girl that plays Gretchen Ross. She was in another underrated film which came out close to this movie and called Dangerous Lives Of Alter Boys. That is an amazing film you have to check out. Whats funny in Donnie Darko she is dating Donnie and in Dangerous Lives of Alter Boys her brother is named Donnie
There is a directors cut that explains things in a more explicit way, with changes not just additions, takes some of the magic of the movie away I think, but it is an interesting watch.
Yeah, I'm definitely glad that I watched the theatrical version before the Director's Cut. The Director's Cut was interesting for giving you a bit more context, but now that I have that, I think I'd always choose to go back to the original for future viewings.

I always LOVED THIS MOVIE!!! Most people think it's depressing and sad... But I saw it as an inspirational story of an isolated kid, with no friends, who finds a girlfriend, only to have her get killed but through talking with "Grandma Death", Donnie comes to face his ultimate fear... Dying alone. After his girlfriend died, and he knew SHE died alone... He was like F it, and went back in time to before the engine crashed into his room, so he ACTUALLY DIED!! And the girl lives, the only person who gave him the time of day... I struggled figuring out HOW Donnie traveled back to before the engine crashing through his room... Then I remembered THE LITTLE LINE THINGIES THAT CAME OUT OF PEOPLE'S CHESTS!! The entire movie was basically Donnie "living out his ghost life".
I love their opening family dinner together. You immediately start to care about everyone, and get a good sense of what they're like. It's similar to that scene in Alien where they're all eating and talking shit. Great opener.
I don't know if this will make complete sense, but the theory is that Donnie is in a time loop and each time he fails, it starts over, so when he succeeds, the alternate reality is gone. You noticed at the end, the characters feel like they were aware something happened to them (in that alternate reality)? Same thing happens to Donnie at the start of the movie where he looks up at the sky and laughs slightly because he senses something. That's the REALLY basic theory idea behind the movie. Frank wants Donnie to kill him so the dead Frank can come through the alternate reality and manipulate Donnie to fix the loop. In short, Frank needs him to leave his house at the start of the movie so all the events transpire to where the jet engine gets taken by the wormhole and Donnie goes back home to die so the timeline can stabilize.
So what would of happened if Frank didn't save him the first time? Just let the engine fall on Donnie without him altering the timeline? Universe collapse?
I was under the impression it was a horror movie because the image of the bunny looked to me like some type of iconic horror movie franchise character would. I was pleasantly surprised with how cerebral this film was.
I highly recommend checking out the website that explains exactly what happens in this movie….a split timeline happens on that first night when Frank saves Donnie. Frank is a “manipulated dead” and needs to guide Donnie (the chosen one) to restoring the timeline before it becomes unstable and destroys both (hence the 30 day countdown)…everyone else is the “manipulated living” and unconsciously guide Donnie to his destiny (cellar door, Grandma death, etc)…..there is Tons more (Roberta sparrow was also a chosen one in the past and saved her universe and that’s why she wrote the book)…love this move and your reaction, 10/10 🤘🏼

Donnie Darko is a cult classic for a reason. As an angsty teenager at the time it came out who loved sci fi, it really resonated. But it's a great film regardless. Subscribed.
I love how surprised you were at every iconic actor's reveal. Is that MAGGIE GYLLENHAAL? Is that PATRICK SWAYZE? Is that JENNA MALONE? Is that DREW BARRYMORE? Is that SETH ROGAN.? I spent most of this movie confused as to where this was all leading, but the end wrapped it up nicely. Very sad. One of my all-time favorites. "Leon the Professional" is one of my favorites too! along with "The Sixth Sense" and "An American Werewolf in London". All had surprise sad endings.
❤️ This movie too. If you are going to continue watching "Strange Movies".... I'd like to suggest Boxing Helena. It's the kind of movie you cannot forget and leaves you questioning a lot of things. Thanks again for sharing your reaction to Donny Darko.. One of my favorite movies. That song was Under the Milky Way tonight by The Church. Take Care. 💖
Love that Coby has great taste in music (like me). I have seen BOTH Echo & the Bunnymen and Peter Hook & The Light live this year (Peter Hook is the bassist from both Joy Division and New Order). Makes me like her even more now. This soundtrack IS excellent!

Who would ever think that sleepwalking could save your life? That Frank is one creepy bunny; he is no Harvey. Are there any other movies where Jake shares the screen with his sister, Maggie Gyllenhaal? I just realized that his psychiatrist is Katharine Ross, who played in The Graduate and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. There are so many great actors and actresses in this, and speaking of actresses, I just discovered that the beautiful and talented Coby Connell is also an actress.

This is one of those movies I believe came out right around 9/11, so no one really saw it.... Great movie. I liked the part 2 as well, called S. Darko... his sister goes through it too... it's not as good obviously, since the idea was not new, but I thought it was good. Had the same actress as his sister in this one. Great reaction so far. ❤
Both Jake and Maggie were child actors from a very young age, and both had had moderate success as standalone actors prior to this film, but i think it certainly helped propel them both into the wider zeitgeist.
My favorite thing to mention when anyone watches this movie is the same year Jake Gyllenhaal also was in the movie Bubble Boy. Two of the biggest different types of movies from one actor.
Such a great movie one of the best ironies of the movie for me is that there is a tension between the world being complex and the world presented as love vs fear, it turns out the choice was love, Gretchen vs fear of dying alone, but there were other consequences to that like Jim Cunningham never being found out. The more you watch the more you pick up.
1:00:00 His smile is the thing misdirects us. But he is happy that the world is ending because he knows what will happen if he survives that crash. He overcomes his "fears", let "love" win and saves us all.
This is such a great movie. IMO, this is one of those movies where the theatrical cut is better than the Director's Cut. It just flows better, and leaves things to the imagination a little bit more. Not saying the DC is bad, I just prefer the theatrical cut.
In the deleted scene he's not hit by the jet engine, rather stabbed through the chest from broken wood from the roof. I can see why they cut it out since he's coughing up blood after being impailed.. Not a quick death.
The more we get to know Coby in each reaction the more perfect she becomes, "Love Will Tear us Apart" by Joy Division is her favourite song. Anyone who can say that is alright, most non Brits don't have a clue
You're high. 😅 Joy Division/Love Will Tear Us Apart was the record everyone in the outcast category of my high school owned. In the Midwest, where nothing cool ever reaches.😛
D/D is a trippy film. One of my very favorites and like you, I watched it only because someone said I had to. So, I was like, Okay, I’ll get around to it. When I eventually did, I kicked myself for dismissing it for so long. Fantastic mindbender thats better and better with each rewatch. So much to pick up on.
There's a few good videos on RUclips that explains this movie. They are definitely worth watching, as they explain the whole time travel concept, how everybody is linked, and what Donnie's role is in all of this.
The little sister is Daveigh Chase. She was the voice of Lilo in Lilo and Stitch. It’s unfortunate, she kind of went off the rails as a teenager and she’s been in a lot of trouble since.
Katherine Ross was a female lead in The Graduate, ( you should take a look ), and in Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid. --- So that makes 3 classics for her resume. IF you really like Joy Division--- 24 Hour Party People with Steve Coogan should be on your watch list. It's Good. ---- The Manchester Sound--- !
We should all hate Hollywood, not for being to woke and elite, but because they refuse to make creative masterpiece films like this anymore. Donnie Darko is the sweetest mindfuck.

She even says in the beginning Donnie Darko what kind of name is that. You must be like a super hero
This film will live in your head, rent free, for the rest of your life now.
The song playing during the party is 'Under The Milky Way' by The Church, a criminally underrated band from Australia... Tremendous soundtrack all the way through.
Thank you! I love this song. I always forget the name.
It was Tolkien who said that "Cellar door" is the conbination english words with the most beautiful sound
Jake had a good run (2000-2002) of Indie films starting with “October Sky” a year before this through another fave of mine, “Moonlight Mile” with Dustin Hoffman & Susan Sarandon. But DD will always have a special place in my heart.
I love October Sky soooo muchhh
One of the rare cases where the theatrical release is much better than the director's cut. Dying on this hill 😂
Agreed! Completely.
Not even close. Directors cut kind of sucks to be honest
💯
I so agree
The second you got a good look at the rabbit’s face … hilarious
"What You See" Oingo Boingo song comes to mind
My favorite Gyllenhaal movie!
Fear keeps us alive. For example I'm afraid of being in a car accident, thus I'm a safe driver. I'm afraid of wolves so I don't go into the woods alone at night.
That's just natural self preservation.
It's not fear that makes you drive safely it's having some smarts and being in control, knowing what could happen. That's the majority of us and we keep well away from the dimwits who don't have a clue
One of those movies that is even better the second time of watching because you pick up on a lot more of what's going on.
Totally agree with this.
If interested here's my attempt at a Full Explanation:
It's about tangent universes - if a fourth dimension gets corrupted a tangent universe is created but has a limited life span (a few weeks).
13:30 She was also in No Country for Old Men. Carla Jean's mother.
The linguist who talked about "cellar door" was J. R. R. Tolkien, who wrote Lord of the Rings.
Everyone and their mother is in this film. Always hoped one of the names would draw more people into this crazy mind f masterpiece. *Cant beat real brother sister chemistry.
Case in point: John and Joan Cusack.
@inspectre27 They are my favorite brother sister sibling actors
Fantastic reaction video, Coby! This movie always hits me right in the gut. What a masterpiece!
Great reaction! And the soundtrack is just banging for 80s nostalgia!
This movie pretty much birthed my love for post punk as a teen.
The song at the party that you thought was Echo & the Bunnymen is actually The Church: Under the Milkyway
43:12 He said “not until 8th grade” not “not until you’re 8”
Great reaction, but sorry Coby we have to revoke your Aussie card for the Under the Milky Way gaffe!
The directors cut DVD I have came with a lot more info on the time travel stuff in the special features.
I highly recommend checking out the website that explains exactly what happens in this movie….a split timeline happens on that first night when Frank saves Donnie. Frank is a “manipulated dead” and needs to guide Donnie (the chosen one) to restoring the timeline before it becomes unstable and destroys both (hence the 30 day countdown)…everyone else is the “manipulated living” and unconsciously guide Donnie to his destiny (cellar door, Grandma death, etc)…..there is Tons more (Roberta sparrow was also a chosen one in the past and saved her universe and that’s why she wrote the book)…love this move and your reaction, 10/10 🤘🏼
you probably already did your research but Flower Films is Drew Barrymores company. They still produce movies.
58:40 that delayed realization was great
1:01:03 lol this interruption of your thoughts with the name was funny
Love this movie. Enjoyed your reaction to it.
Will always be my favourite time travel movie. Great reaction!
"Oh, dark."
No. Darko. 🤣
No no, don't get up. I'll see myself out.
Would love to see a long form reaction and break down of twin peaks!
This is right up there with Akira as far as leaving the viewer floored as to what the hell just happened 👌
Thanks for the commentary. Regarding your expectations about the bunny at 26:23, you may have confused this film with Harvey (1950).
Daviegh chase who plays the younger sister Samantha has had legal iissues involving drug charges. she started in the American version of the Ring and Also was.The original voice.actress.for Lilo in Lilo and Stitch.
Also recently footage of P.diddy inviting her to a after party after a MTV awards show when she was 12 leading to some speculation that she have been a victim of abuse.
The song at the party after Joy Division was "Under the Milky Way" by The Church.
That song is from the album, "Starfish". A classic album from that era. I highly recommend it. 🔥🔥🔥🌙
Yes it's a classic movie. Your reaction did it justice
there is a sequel to this called "S Darko" from 2009 which they did basically setup in this movie
You guys really need to fix the audio balancing. It's like 30% left/70% right.
Yeah.... I was feeling like I had an ear infection or something. haha
1:00:00 His smile is the thing misdirects us. But he is happy that the world is ending because he knows what will happen if he survives that crash. He overcomes his "fears", let "love" win and saves us all.
one of my favourite films , great rection Colby
COBY! Under the Milky Way is by The Church…an Aussie band, girl!!
One of the very few movies I re watch once a year.
27:08 her confusing Lorne Greene with Graham Greene is top tier ❤
D/D is a trippy film. One of my very favorites and like you, I watched it only because someone said I had to. So, I was like, Okay, I’ll get around to it.
When I eventually did, I kicked myself for dismissing it for so long. Fantastic mindbender thats better and better with each rewatch. So much to pick up on.
There's a few good videos on RUclips that explains this movie. They are definitely worth watching, as they explain the whole time travel concept, how everybody is linked, and what Donnie's role is in all of this.
I also like part two it's overlooked it's in same timeline and characters .. you should watch it on your own time
Good job, Coby. You figured it out on first watch. YOu also have great taste in music.
"Secretary" is a great Maggie follow up :)
The professionals, one of my favorite movies of all time too that’s awesome😃🎯🥛
We should all hate Hollywood, not for being to woke and elite, but because they refuse to make creative masterpiece films like this anymore. Donnie Darko is the sweetest mindfuck.
They made a sequel called. S.Darko , A Donnie Darko Tale 😊
