I came here for the Mach E review while waiting on my Cyber Orange RWD, but I stayed for the incredible images. Truly showing the beauty of a great roadtrip, I just can't imagine this scenery in Europe. Very well done!
I just traded my Mach-E after 18 months and over 20,000 miles. Longest trip was 2,600 miles. Most of the charging was done at home and for the longest trip charging worked though added a good bit of time to the trip. A couple of our other trips only had 50kW chargers and we used our ICE car instead. Overall it was a great experience but we decided to switch to a PHEV.
im just looking into potentially trading in my 1 yr old Alfa Romeo for an EV and the Mach E is at the top of my list especially since Tesla doesn't have the $7500 tax credit anymore. This video. was a great no nonsense overview, loved it. The drone footage and scenic shots were fa tactic btw!
Great review. I have had some of the same issues. Have you tried any of the third party apps for chargers. The EA app and the charge hub app are pretty good. And you can map out on the screen via car play. It should also be said only Tesla has super chargers. The MME uses DC fast chargers they are much slower then a super charger. I have been seeing Tesla is going to add the ability to it’s super chargers for j772 plugs. Which will be nice not sure what cost to charge will be but will add more chargers. My wife’s MME is the same select AWD. Mine is the select rwd with every option. That’s a great point to have range adjust for distance + weight added to estimated range.
Thank you for your compliment! I did mess up by saying superchargers as those are only for Tesla. Thats some great advice on the third party apps, im going to check them out. Hopefully Tesla does allow charger for all EV's. Plugshare and Chargepoint have been good apps for me too
Road trip with the standard range! Brave! This is my first EV.. has only been a few days... but it's long range and my anxiety over it is already winding down. We will see in winter though.
U said u needed a campground at big bend to charge it up overnight. Was the outlet a standard 120v or did they have a 240v nema plug for level 2 charging?
Standard wall outlet! There is a Level 2 charger in town but you have to call and ask to use it. Its a nearby hotel. They prefer that you make a donation to crisis center in town too
Welcome back! I spotted two other Mach E's in Amherst today, they're starting to get popular. I totally agree with your assessment. I have the extended range and the suspension on that one isn't as good as the standard range that I tested. When you said your screen crashed, did it die completely until you restarted the car or did the screen just go black for a few seconds and then come back? Mine does the latter.
Interesting about the suspension! I wonder if extended range has more weight due to more battery and makes suspension less ? The screen turned black then rebooted on its own. I saw it crash once and it was like turning off a TV. Id say 30 seconds and it was back up
@@MatthewManzella Yeah the extended range has a stiffer suspension for the extra weight. In the forums a lot of people with the extended range battery don't like bounciness it causes. My screen does that too. It goes off just long enough to make me concerned and then it comes back. Fortunately the car drives fine and blue cruise keeps going when it happens. I didn't know how to use the voice prompts for the hvac system. I will have to try that out soon because I really don't like taking my eyes off the road to adjust the fan speed or temp.
Great video btw, i hope you enjoyed the road trip! The solar panels I saw, are those for the car or other items? How did they work? Where did you get them?

Love this comment beachbum! The great is good for the right person and use! Long trips; EV has a long way to go
When using the plug and charge feature in the Ford Pass app, do you get a discounted rate like you do with Electrify America membership.

Thanks so much Eric!!! You will not be disappointed in the Mach E... I debated Tesla too and when you combine the $7500 it was too much to give up

3 months ago you were excited about ford but now totally disappointed.

I used them to run my iMac computer! You can charge the Mach E in an emergency but I believe it’s only 3 miles of range per hour
Thanks for the video. If I had a Mach E, I think I would rent an ICE for long road trips.
Not a bad idea! 500mile range would be perfect
Thanks !
You're very welcome! I hope you enjoyed the video :)
Wow, I'm surprised your Mach-E didn't die. Big recall on that car right now!
Yes! I got lucky my car was built 2 months before the recall dates!
#GoBills thanks for the tour!
haha you are awesome !
Dude reading off a phone. Original. Boring…but original.
haha I just wanted to be sure I said everything I thought of
