  • Like warp and weft, Keya Vaswani and Nidhi Kamath work together to create textile history. At 27, and within four years of leaving design school, they have built up an enviable oeuvre of short films on India’s crafts; Their first documentary, Weaves of Maheshwar, won the Rajat Kamal for the best promotional film at the 63rd National Film Awards, India. This was a part of their fellowship with People’s Archive of Rural India. The duo has taken up assignments for reputed design houses and brands. Between 2013 and 2017, they made short films on artisans across India, called Pehchaan- The Discerning Eye which went viral, with 1.5 million views within days of its release.
