It actually sounds like a Harley now ,, Now you have a Awesome Bike with that Great Harley Sound,,,,Bottom Line ,,,You Have the best of both worlds now ,,, Great Job
You don't know how the Harley sounds , do you ? His motorcycle sound like a tractor with the pipes he added .. The sound should be deep with some base .. Not like a tractor..
And of COURSE it don't sound like a Harley ,, its Not a Harley , got to give him encouragement though see ,, Personally I put my bike into the muffler shop had the old ones taken out and new ones put in , now its mellow thunder ( still loud ) but doesn't sound like a drag bike lol
when I was 13 I had an 83 xr80. the baffle blew out of it. my mom complained it was loud so I pipe clamped a tuna can over the end of the exhaust and drilled holes in it. happy mom and no power. no RUclips either!
Hi, i have the same bike and i am considering to als get rid of all the inside. I wanted to ask why you did not also removed the other ‘wall’ inside? And open it up completely?
I want to do this to my 04 Honda Shadow Aero. Should I punch out the caps AND drill or just drill the 1/2 inch holes? I'm seeing differing opinions on this.. I want more sound (for safety) but also don't want to kill my engine.
Packing is still looking good. Just be sure to let it cure like the directions say. Also having the burs on the inner pipe is a good way to keep it all held in.
***** Not when welding in the pipe. I added another video where I had to weld in the home made baffle. Basically after a year the exhaust repair kit shook apart.
thats sounds great for a next to free up grade,,i have a shadow ace and it came with cobra shotguns with the baffles removed and its super loud..my neighbours hate me..lmao
Hey Lance, After finishing my guide plug and gear shift spindle, I took a look at the exhaust - hole-saw in hand. After pulling the rear chrome piece, I saw two exhaust pipes, welded together. I cut those off flush with the end of the remaining chrome exhaust section. That leaves about 4 inches of tail pipe, which goes into a circular flange, sealing off the rest of the exhaust. Does this sound right to you? If so, what did you use to cut the remaining tail pipe? Or did remove another chrome section.
if you watch around 2:17 of the vid it shows how it should look after the baffle is removed. I know many of these bikes have different set ups but I only removed the rear baffle which did have a two pipe thing. Wish I had thought about making the vid when I removed that.. :)
that wont hold up at all.... all that work for nothing.. take off the pipes completely and remove the inner baffle that u i didnt remoce in the 1st place.... a ton of work for nothing....b
Wow who does that just laymen in their not welded no planning wrapping some wet duck tape around pipe as if it's their for something important I've seen those muffler casts around pipes before and also seen them catch fire you are putting it inside your muffler and what really got me messed up is why your white walls are brown I've seen them kinda dirty before in my life but man yours look like drift wood and what you are doing with exsaust is definatly not safe not good for a lot of stuff such as gas muffler itself probably plugs I'm sure you just asken for it
Your bike sounds very nice now and You did an awesome job. Thank You very much for sharing your very valuable knowledge and your time. God bless You!
Sounds better than most $500 exhaust systems 👍

Saw your link on Facebook. I subscribed. I hope you make more videos
Thanks. Glad you liked it.
I appreciate your time and effort. May I suggest using steel wool/ brillo pads as pipe support and filler material? But your bike sounds great!
Nice Hammock mate ,, love a good Hammock : )

some dude was selling a set of either psycho J or bobble cycle angle cuts for 100$ on ebay, these things are loud as all hell and I saved 400$
Where did you get those saddle bags? I would love those for my 2003 honda ace~
does anyone know the name of the exhaust repair kit he used? can't find it anywhere online
I'm wondering what year and model of Honda is it.
How has the packing held up. Thinking about doing this to my bike.

B. Timothy Just an update. Packing finally failed and fell out.. I did a mod where I welded the same pipe in place and sounds great.
Thank you for the update. Had a welder available so I ended up welding it in place too
Shoulda left it stock you coulda sold that pipe and got a different one i just found a used one cause previous owner cut it up i hated it
@EZ4U2Say11 would have loved to put some true duels on it. I forgot which company but for 10 years ago this was a good way to tackle this.
Does this require rejetting ? Or cause any mixture problems?
***** Not when welding in the pipe. I added another video where I had to weld in the home made baffle. Basically after a year the exhaust repair kit shook apart.
I see. Thanks.
Don't pull a hacksaw back on the metal. Hacksaws only cut in one direction. Causes premature wear.
love to ride with you!
va?
Ya.... ;)

Jeff McLean did you have to jet your carb after removing the baffles?
Jason Fox i believe the previous owner did jet the carbs

Lance Ziolkowski what size hole saw did you use on the main back of the pipe. did it have two small pipes?
Where did you get those saddle bags?
Is that a Mustang seat?
yes
Buy a cobra set of pipes and change the jets and have it tune professionally. I have a 2002 Honda Shadow Sabre and it Roars.
I did this to my bike. Now people are noticing me. Hoping to get laid. No luck as yet.
lolol
Sounds exactly the same as the hole saw mod. And not as good as the stock pipes.
TwoLittlePiggies :Minecraft yeah its crap. horrible in fact. i dont suggest you try this at home then
Meh. Good fun playing with bikes, but keeping bikes stock is a good thing.
The beer break advice is good though.
DOOD THAT IS SO FUCKED UP
You should make more videos, quit your day job and become a RUclipsr!
that wont hold up at all.... all that work for nothing.. take off the pipes completely and remove the inner baffle that u i didnt remoce in the 1st place.... a ton of work for nothing....b

Yes..! I ton of work with all the thrush he put on this poor bike just to ruin the sound .. But he didn't realize he ruined the sound ...
You ruined the sound.. The sound was better before, not it sounds like a tractor.. You haven't notice that ??
