They would be smarter if they made a simple scope, with high quality glass and a good reticle.. because Chinese scopes are really creating more sales and closer to the average users price tag...
Hard to take info seriously from how that scope is mounted. No reason for the rings to be as narrow as possible. Not suprising being associated with the Eastmans tho
Not going anywhere. I personally witnessed brutal and hard testing on these turrets because of this worry. While the previous versions are great this is an excellent addition.
@ Let’s see how long does it take people to complain in forums about how they can get a turret as they lost their ones… Truth is Leupold needed to release a new product… and the actually came along with the same scope and a needless silly “improvement”. What about refining their turret system to avoid failures? What about a better glass? What about a discount for the same product five years in a row?
Leupold and Maven are missing out on more customers with their price points staying out of touch for the avg man's pockets. Firearms are doing better at this by providing quality at reasonable $.
Leupold makes decent scopes BUT their reticles suck, especially the lack of ENTIRELY lit reticles. What Leupold does is light a mere dot. Me? I'd rather have a Bushnell ELITE scope of some version. Ex. My Bushnell ELITE LRHS 4.5 - 18 x 44 scope has an entirely illuminated G3 (small Xmas tree) reticle that helps me greatly on wind holds. With this Leupold you get very little horizontal reticle holds for wind, virtually meaningless. You have to hold out in unmarked space and guess the hold.
I'm guessing you are talking about the fire dot? I have 2 vx-6 HD with a fully illuminated reticle. They make a butt load of different reticle options. Never had a problem with them.
Yeah, that screams 'im going to be calling for a replacement in no time' when I loose that cap

Awesome guys
I have never known a Leupold to be adjustable without going haywire for 4 or 5 shots before it settles in. Has that reputation changed?
Great review! What is the Browning model?
Looks like Browning Pro McMillan SPR XBOLT 2

Nice way to loose a turret in the field. Sometimes it's better to keep things as they are instead of looking for an "improvement" at any cost.

I like the tool less turret adjustment feature. I need a 4x-24x model. 😁
