- As the union representing Los Angeles Metro bus drivers demands better safeguards for its drivers, two violent, bloody incidents unfolded aboard transit buses over the weekend in less than a 24-hour span. Chris Wolfe reports for KTLA 5 News at 10, April 17, 2024.

Bless the lady who actual helped him. You're an angel!! As a Metro rider, there's absolutely no security on our buses. The last time I heard a similar incident was last year in Woodland Hills. The train once in a while has security on & off. I feel the closes security bus drivers have is the Plexiglas Window used during Covid. But even that is not ment for safety, most drivers don't even use it.

THEY DO! I take the bus at time. But a Lot of the buses I go on Metro L.A. dont have them. It depends on the route.

I had to take the LA Metro recently and I was surprised how it operated. The price to ride is very low, but most people got on without paying anything. Many of them were homeless and obviously on drugs, and one woman verbally assaulted me even though I didn't say anything to her. I also noticed the drivers just looked straight ahead and didn't say a word, like there was nothing they could do. The Metro is a great service ruined by the usual suspects. Next time I take the bus I'll definitely bring some kind of protection, just in case.

The victim is often the same demographic as the suspect. In case you have not been noticing the population of the usual suspects just continues to shrink both nation wide and in California.

Metro works very hard to keep stories of violence on buses secret and not scare the public into defunding or removing management. To the point where they make employees who have been attacked sign an NDA saying they wont speak about being attacked.

@@evato8746 I play guitar and keyboards. i've partied for years with friends and did every major drug in the book. I personally never robbed anybody or acted 'crazy.' I'm still sane and even functioned normally on the job.
if you do drugs and can't handle it, then YOU'RE the problem. i don't go out robbing people or acting mental and i'\ve had drinked and drugged for over 10 yrs.
i will admit i've seen guys that talking like a psycho from drug use and come off as unstable. i still don't think its an excuse to go out attacking people. if you do, you get in trouble with the law. it's that simple.

I was on an la metro bus near the front listening to music and minding my business, then some random lady stood in front of me and said "I'll slit your throat" while miming doing exactly that. This happened 20 years ago, people have always been unhinged on public transport for no damn reason.

I witness a Elderly passenger trying to get on a bus on Adams and Buckingham. The passenger can barely walk to the bus. Driver pulls the bus away from the curve.There's a red light. Passenger knocks at the door to try to get on bus. Operator drives away when light turn green. Passenger was still standing. With his hands up wondering what just happened. Me, shaking my head.
