Jaiden hadn’t previously provided the public with her likeness before so I think there is a pretty obvious difference between her and a celebrity. I am not a lawyer either, though there is a reason why model releases are so important in making commercial content. When I was a professional videographer, clients wouldn’t so much as think about using someone’s likeness without consent because their legal teams would have a stroke. It’s a big no no to use someone’s likeness without a release in that industry because lawsuits can, and will, ensue

She wasn’t in the wrong, actually she handled the whole situation way better than she needed to. Perfectly polite, respectful, and went out of her way to do the editing herself and send a version of it back that she was comfortable with. Unfortunately most people don’t give a shit about boundaries and respecting other peoples comfort zones. I really wish the person with that original video had respected her wishes and just used the edited version that she didn’t even have to provide, but made the effort to do so.

If I have a major anxiety involving being away from home in a storm, but I'm really craving McDonalds, consequences of going to McDonalds when I know a storm is on the way is absolutely on me. It's not the fault of anyone going slow in traffic, or the McDonalds workers messing up and having to remake my order, I knew the risks and possibilities the moment I stepped out the door. That's taking responsibility for your own actions. She regretted it after, she had a moment of panic, but in the end she got through it and it worked out. She's a good enough person to understand and take some responsibility for how things turned out. That's why she points out how he was a jerk and a bad 'friend', but also doesn't name him.

That’s honestly truly upsetting. As somebody who is insecure about how I look and slowly getting over it, to be in pictures or videos without wanting to is one thing, but when you ask nicely to get taken out of that picture and/or photo and even put in the efforts yourself to do it, and yet that said person still posts it knowing that you aren’t comfortable with that yet is just trashy and betrays her trust she had for said person. She wasn’t in the wrong, actually she handled the whole situation way better than she needed to. Perfectly polite, respectful, and went out of her way to do the editing herself and send a version of it back that she was comfortable with. Unfortunately most people don’t give a shit about boundaries and respecting other peoples comfort zones. I really wish the person with that original video had respected her wishes and just used the edited version that she didn’t even have to provide, but made the effort to do so.
Alex clark used it for clout. Then dropped an "Apology video" with ads. So more profit there too. 🫤
One thing I admire about Jaiden is that she never said their name, she could have called out this person for how they were ignoring her and she would have been in the right, but she never did because she doesn't like drama, specially if she's the one starting it

If I have a major anxiety involving being away from home in a storm, but I'm really craving McDonalds, consequences of going to McDonalds when I know a storm is on the way is absolutely on me. It's not the fault of anyone going slow in traffic, or the McDonalds workers messing up and having to remake my order, I knew the risks and possibilities the moment I stepped out the door. That's taking responsibility for your own actions.
She regretted it after, she had a moment of panic, but in the end she got through it and it worked out. She's a good enough person to understand and take some responsibility for how things turned out. That's why she points out how he was a jerk and a bad 'friend', but also doesn't name him.

Yes, you are valid in thinking that the poster are immoral for not respecting her wishes, but you need to acknowledge that she made her own choices and mistakes. When I first heard this, I thought for sure it would’ve been some random person. But no, it was Alex fuckin Clark.
The fact there's no doubt this was not just a misunderstanding or a mistake on Alex's part by putting up the wrong video makes this even more disgusting. He made his intentions very clear to this poor girl that all he cared about was the temporary clout he'd get from this video and not about the long term effect it could have had on Jaiden as a person who clearly struggles with her self image as it is. I hope Alex realised that this small bit of attention from random people online just wasn't worth destroying a friendship with her and caused so many people to hate him for being so transparently inconsiderate.

Just so you know this not only happened nearly nine years ago but her and the guy responsible have more or less moved on now it’s largely seen as a lesson that no RUclipsr is perfect or has a truly spotless record since in the end they are people too and people make mistakes and questionable decisions all the time

Oh wow! She is SO not in the wrong! She made a request that was absolutely reasonable given that she put in the work to make it happen and then they decided to use her face WITHOUT HER PERMISSION for MARKETING, which is specifically what including it in tags its. She should sue them, legitimately. She likely wouldn't have had grounds if they just posted the un-edited video because it's in a public space, but the video tags are what could let her win it. Absolutely appalled.
But Jaiden is too nice to sue someone unless she absolutely had to.
If she sued them, she'd lose. She doesn't have a case against them.
That’s honestly truly upsetting. As somebody who is insecure about how I look and slowly getting over it, to be in pictures or videos without wanting to is one thing, but when you ask nicely to get taken out of that picture and/or photo and even put in the efforts yourself to do it, and yet that said person still posts it knowing that you aren’t comfortable with that yet is just trashy and betrays her trust she had for said person. It’s just messed up.
Hope she's doing better. I used to watch Alex and her when I was younger. I kinda grew out of it, but she helped me through a lot.
