My wife just got me a new magnifying light for Xmas and the great lord croak! At first when I began this hobby she didn't know how to act and her family was weirdest out and now they all know and either get me supplies or figs it honestly turned from weirdo who paints figures to its just what I do and the acceptance is amazing!

My favourite video of the year. Thank you both for sharing this side of your life with us. The absolute gem is Vince saying 'you Knit?' and the total patient response of I don't knit I Crochet. THERE IS A DIFFRENCE!!!!! As a hobby painter and gamer with a girlfriend who knits and crochets you have to learn the difference. On pain of death or at least you can be poked with a knitting needle or a crochet hook. Your choice.

It is nice to see the woman behind the legend sometimes! Also, another thing to take away from this video, is that our partners/significant others like it when our nerd friends show interest in them and their hobbies, and when they show their appreciation. This applies to all people of course, but I thought of it when Cathy talks about how Sam asks her about her stuff, and how Atom attacks the fridge (that Cathy so thoughtfully restocked!). We all like to feel special and this is what Sam and Atom did that made them stand out. I wish you guys have a great new year's eve and an amazing new year! These wishes are of course extended to all the hobby nerds around the world!
First off your husband is my hero. Every successful mini painter have a supportive wife behind (not to backstab them). My wife discovered I love Warhammer figures and pushed me to buy my first box. She doesn't care sci-fi or fantasy stuff other than Harry Potter. However, she is always willing to help me in someway. For that I am really thankful to her.

My wife is incredibly supportive (made snacks, including vegan specific for a massive game day we hosted).She gets it and shows an interest but ABSOLUTELY communication is the key. My wife is looking after my mental health and knows that what I am doing is in support of that and her buy-in only makes me love her more

Spot on with all points - my trouble (as in trouble and strife the wife) has been my greatest support and critic. We do not have the same hobbies but colour and composition are at the core for both of us.

I got into warhammer shortly after my girlfriend and I got together. I was living alone for the first time, and it was always a great outlet for me. She didn't quite "get it" at first, but does now. She even appreciates the growth I've had in painting over time. To the point that she has a small collection of Death Guard within my collection that she just likes to look at sometimes. She also thinks it makes it super easy to gift buy when the time comes, since I'm ALWAYS talking about new things I want or want to try.
Best video because it's awesome to get to know you better and the life advice enables healthy hobbying. I would ask Cathy to say a few more things about what she loves about you and how you balance being a supportive husband with your hobby.
