This game is my childhood. I remember playing it on ps1. My parents was strict, so I only allowed to play on friday-sunday. But I was perseverance. I had to wake up early usually 3 am just to play ps1 secretly in my room. I'm still wondering on how I didn't fall asleep at school and I still did well at elementary school. Good fucking times...

@@roaarylion5214 You wouldn't even desire online since it was rare to have internet back then.. I did desire third person though but yeah. PS1 had no online games at all. Back then you just put the disc in and it plays. No installation required.

Looks like PS1 came first and Rockstar Games did forgot to add just like Resident evil 1 to Resident Evil 1 Director's Cut which means improved all.

@@Shadowwolf-1337 Nope. It's hard because the missions require you to predict the future, have poorly balanced difficulty, or both. It's possible to beat the game normally without doing all the missions, but selling cars won't get you very far. I almost recommend using save states, because doing it legit is just torturing yourself.

I spent about 5 hours just doing the first bit because of the controls and the over head view is bad.
True, true. I have started replaying GTA 1 after very long time out of nostalgia and I play it with Dosbox version which has save/load feature. And I load a lot. Finishing the game in one take with no deaths like in this video is insane skill.

I played this game a lot of mornings before school back when I was young. Did not really understand what it was all about but the open world was amazing to me back then. Also the burp &fart feature was the funniest thing ever.😂😅
This game was revolutionary for its time. Played it to the bone on my PS1! On console though, it could sometimes be very laggy if you were on a mission, had 4 stars and the cops were all over you, including road blocks and such.

Quality!! I played this to death when it came out. Navigating the map was mental. It was amazing how the game evolved.
The best thing about this game was the fact you couldn’t save during a mission, and every mission (every city) took a LONG time to complete.
So if you had one life left and 99% completion then the pressure to not get killed or arrested was INTENSE.
This sort of element of risk is sorely lacking from many (not all) modern games, where you always have safe checkpoints and never a lot to lose.
@@rhwing5095 I agree. I’m now playing hitman 3 on freelance mode which has that same mechanic. No saving, if you die during a mission you lose all progress and the weapons you brought.

It's fast-paced because he's basically speed-running. When me and my cousin played it (as kids in 90's not last week), every mission was like 1 hour

El burro also appears in GTA 3 but a different version of him, same in Chinatown Wars

Yeah! GTA Online is so unrealistic and boring whitout friends! Playing the whole GTA Series are Years of fun, Nice Stories, Visiting many Citys in the old or new version like GTA 3s Liberty City compared to GTA 4s and Meeting different Characters who are your friends or traitors! The GTA Story Games are so nice Single Player games where you can forget that you playing alone.
No it isn't. Some people weren't born when these games came out. Some people don't enjoy outdated graphics or classic games in general. That's like saying it's really sad you haven't driven the first production model of the Honda Civic before driving your current year Civic.

I bought this not long ago for my ps1 to bring back some childhood nostalgia but after playing it on PC a few years back i did not realize how chunky it was on ps1. I didn't even notice back in the day but still a great game.
I remember playing this game on pc almost everyday on the fall of 1998. It was my favorite game back then. Good memories.

Easy to forget some of the brilliant dialogue, especially from the Uncle Fu and Deever missions. Totally forgot about killing the President in the last chapter as well. Brilliant.

I remember playing the 30 minutes demo for hours upon hours when I was way too young to be playing this. Good times.
How was the demo limited though, when you get to play only 30 minutes? Or only 30 minutes at a time when started up?
@@RR18475 time limit of 30 minutes. when the timer stops, you have to restart from scratch so you couldn't get far in terms of missions but you could explore the whole first town and do everything the game allows you to do, just limited.
Same lol I couldn't pass a single mission back then. Now I finished all missions of GTA 1 without savestates (it took a long ass time to complete lol) and now I'm doing another playthrough lmao.

@@MeCameron256 if i'm not mistaken, GTA was originally going to be a racing game. but when the developers tested it, there was a bug where instead of racing, the drivers kinda just started ramming each other with their cars. from that point on, GTA's direction was shifted from racing to this whole crime thingy we've all known it as.

Yeah, it would be cool. Maybe a remaster could have 1, London, 2, and Advance all in a pack. Possibly even a remake? Where the stories are remade into current GTA style games. Would be cool to see but definitely not going to happen.

Nobody because the top down view sucked. These were low budget games in comparison to the big budget GTAIII and the later games in the series.
