@raindropsonthewindowsill5170if you are canadian, do you know if, this is the first time that canada has ever lost to latvia at any level!? because we have never Lost to them at any level in 35years that i have been alive in hockey..

They get tempered by losing. The games they lose means nothing they only get better from it. They will make the quarterfinals anyway. One of these teams will win the tournament. Compare that to Sweden. Easy group. Win all and then its over in the quarterfinal. Experts praising all day long and then good bye. Makes me sick. Cant get over it. I know this will happen.
@@hemulinkulli We barely beat them 2-1 in OT at the 2018 world championship. I'm just taking a look through previous years. They've had some flashes of greatness for sure. They were up 3-1 over the USA in 2017 but ultimately lost that game 5-3.
Finnish sisu vs an American first line that acted like primadonnas for most of the game. USA still has a way to wide gap between forwards and defenders. Great game from the puck drop. First lesson of international hockey NEVER underestimate the Finns.
Great game, way to go Finland. As a Canadian, the Finns are my next favourite team. They play a superb game and never quit and tonight they brought the "A" game.
Could not agree more bunch of obnoxious arrogant clowns thanks for bringing the Americans back to earth Finland and you were definitely the better team in this game for sure.
Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard. This game was just that, the Finns pushed themselves to the brim whilst the Americans were ignorant at times - well-deserved win.
This was a start serie game. Both teams will make it to the playoffs. Great game from us Finns 🇫🇮, let’s enjoy for a while, but the tournament is not end yet. But yes if we can take down the US of A all is possible. Boys let’s just keep developing our own game with cool heads. Probably the US of A will challenge us again in this tournament. It was a very nice hockey game 👍🎄
This was actually quite entertaining game. It was easy to see the individual skill side of things favored USA but it almost looked like the players of team Finland had bit more to proove maybe for the coach, viewers and themself after the first two cames. The goalie played almost out his mind, there were couple break aways too, you don't expect to stop all of them but he did
Fun fact: Finns invented ice skating, so they’re natural on the ice. If you follow hockey, you know they’ve won Gold many times. A population of just 5.6 million? Doesn’t matter-Finland plays like giants!
Fiberglass (or more accurately Fiber Reinforced Polymer) and synthetic graphite were first developed and patented in the United States, so the US Juniors are naturals holding a hockey stick. 😅
Finland is a good team. They have size too. The US fought back but I do think Finland had the edge most of the game. With two rested teams, it'd probably play out a bit different, but it was close nonetheless.
Great win for us Finns but it is not over yet; all teams will be better in next game. As a reminder to fans out of there; Finland is a country of 5,6 Mil people and I rest my case.
This result makes the Canada US game that much more intriguing, Ps Anybody know is the offside rule the same in the NHL as in junior or international as I don’t remember in all my years watching NHL I’ve ever seen a player not called offside because it went to him from an opposing player outside the Blueline 🤔🤷♂️ or it maybe just that rare i not seen!
I was confused too but it is a rule! Both in NHL and IIHF. In the wiki it is in the article for offside and in the part for exceptions. There's a second exception too (if it is carried out of the zone, passed back but the pass is intercepted by an attacking forechecker, then it is also not offside)
Why do you need to have the analyts from TSN show the same replay of a goal or controversial play like 4 times at different angles for no reason, a replay should be only shown like twice, you will see what I mean when you watch a game, It's getting really tiring even when you watch an NHL game too.
Leonard should be on the bench after that lol. How are you gonna stop playing and gold your hand up like if its offside then challenge it AFTER the whistle but u gain nothing gliding around hand in the air as they score lol
@@pyrdepavkki1601 It really is not the same as any team who does a back to back as playing a super easier team on the 2nd day would be a huge advantage and playing an even or harder team would be a bigger disadvantage. Finland has been a good hockey country for some time and when I look at the comments it seems that some have been asleep for the last 20 years if it comes as a surprise that Finland can win too
Ofc it is. But hey, you can play your own tournament (friendship tournament), it was atleast planned. With your friends from china, belarus, syria, north-korea and many more traditional icehockey country. Guarantee win. Level of the game: top notch. No corruption with referees, none. Due Putin's mislead, they have descended into stone-age and have no rubbles to travel outdoors, perhaps curling is their next favourite sporting because no need for physical condition. In three nation games team Russia couldn't even Belarus face so they are at level C or D whom even SA will beat.
