All that just to avoid OVI/DUI...sad to say but that was probably the best outcome.
Had the trooper not stopped him, he could've caused an accident hurting or even killing one or more other people. Well, now Julio is dead and the world is a little safer.

That happened to my squad leader as an MP in the Army he was drug about 25 yards, he’s lucky however the perp stopped. Never never stick your arm in to grab the shifter or keys. There is a technique for this, however. I’m sorry for this trooper and I’m glad he fired on the subject.

So, sounds to me like the Trooper murdered the guy, then put his car in drive & made up a story about being dragged. That's why dash cam video will never be released. He's probably a serial killer but since he has a badge his serial killing career will continue.

People are crazy these days! When an officer says stop, You STOP. The fact the driver first ‘stopped’ shows he understood, but ‘chose’ to drag an officer away to a busy highway. So here you have it: OBVIOUS Attempted Vehicular homicide and suicide by cop.

Perhaps he would like to step in front of a moving train , show his badge and expect it to stop.
The laws of physics override any law the suspect broke, or any policy the trooper was expected to abide by.

why couldn't the trooper turn loose of the car? Why even reach into the car? Why not look at the dash camera video to get the plate number and go to the address or turn it over to investigators, then the trooper don't stupid prizes for playing stupid games!!!

For those of you that disagree with me, let me put it to you this way....
If the railroad crossing arms are down, lights flashing, train coming and a civilian drives past and gets hit by the train people will say they deserved it.
Same scenario except replace it with a cop car on an emergency call...
He gets killed by the train, it doesn’t make him a hero, it makes him dead and stupid.

In this case the guy shouldn’t have driven away. We don’t need him being a danger in a chase.
But the compilation of officers jumping into fleeing suspects cars for years yields bad results and puts many people at risk.
Vests are rated for bullets, not cars.
So in conclusion, no matter how many superhero movies the cop saw, no matter the innocence, guilt intent of the suspect, whether or not the cop had racist ideals, jumping into a fleeing suspects car is STUPID !!!!

Total support here, but we have to get ALL officers wearing body cams. For the officer's safety, get them some quality camera equipment. While you are at it, improve the camera quality for dash cams. On a side note, can we get gun cams - that would be nice. That last one was a joke.
