years of making and watching artsy stuff, how did i never heard or thought of such method of "testing" the composition by making small rough sketches, this will surely make me improve by a thousand years, i always have to imagine in my head and directly go for it, i came for texturing techniques and came out with something much better, thank you
Hello T&T Tutorial I am a beginner at illustration and after hopelessly sifting through hundreds of RUclips video out there, I stumbled upon your channel. I watched each of your videos for like ten times. Over a period of one month or so, I got all the basics clear and now I am confidently making illustrations like the one in this video. I can't thank you enough for your videos. I only have one question - Why did you stop making the videos. Your most recent video was 2 years ago. You have no idea how much you are helping budding illustrators like myself. Please come back, we need you😊
tnt channel deserves more like , subscribers, or viewer. this is the best illustration tutorial on youtube . yhis channel gives us real life practical tips in small amount of time .thats really great
Fantastic tutorial !! Beautiful artwork and VERY well explained process/technique of switching between Illustrator and Photoshop. Great work-flow tips. Thank you!
Actually, I try to create my own art with the Chinese Great Wall, but the color is too simple to add contrast to my work. I will try to use eight different gray colors to finish it and add the real wall texture through PS. It may be a way to solve my problem, hahaha~
I just discovered your tutorials and they are amazing! And plus you provide everything for us to practice and learn... I normally don't comment on videos but yours are so good I just had to! Thanks a lot!
Very useful and inspiring tutorial but Have you tried to use affinity designer? You can add textures and brushes without leaving the software and you have always the option to edit your vectors if you need to. Need your opinion on affinity if you don’t mind Thanks
Hi! Yes, you can do the same in Illustrator. But can you apply curves, levels, inverting and erasing in affinity? I take vector to raster because raster is much more flexible and handy. Vector is good for a base. I didn’t use affinity and not sure I will, because I’m pretty happy with Ai-Ps combo 👌
@@tt_tutorials thanks for your reply. Just wanted to point out that is exactly what you can do in affinity without leaving the program because it has both vector and raster, so you can apply curve, levels and everything else applies to raster without exporting or flattening, and your vectors still fully editable I’m saying that because I love your art and I think affinity is much much more convenient for that kind of workflow (vector- raster) Thanks again :)
Well I’d be a fool if I’d not listen to such person... I will think about it and will take a closer look at affinity at least. Thank you 🙏 have a great day and stay inspired ❤️❤️❤️
Wow! That really helped, sir! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Just subscribed :D By the way, when I see people doing things in Illustrator than having all the trouble to prepare the file to finish the project on Photoshop, I feel glad I use Affinity Designer in my work. There I can create all the vectors I want and deal with raster details on the go. You should try it if possible =)
Just finished watching. I have a question: i noticed that areas were the texture or grain was used it was used for mainly for the darker shading, is there any certain reason behind this? I know I saw in another video you showed that it can be done either way, but I wanna know what leads you to decide to use it one way over another? Thank you 😌
Good question! Answer might be disappointing, but honest. I always try how it looks. Almost each time. I don’t have specific textures for ongoing using. I download textures, look for new and try them in a different way. Invert, use levels etc. My goal is to share approach. To give you the key. I’m sure you should watch my previous video with 2 girls, because I used more methods there which will probably answer your questions better than words 👋
