Thanks again Dansky man, the trim view thing was a nice bonus to learn today. Keep them coming.
I've been teaching and using illustrator for over 20 years and you just taught me something new, the document raster effect for shadows. Cheers 👍
Awesome, that’s so great to hear thank you 😊
This is absolutely genius 👏 I had a sahara design on my mind and this will solve 90% of the job. Thank you sensei Dan.
Never stop making videos. Your videos are engaging and educational. I learnt many things from this single video. You do amazing work 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks so much! ❤
I've begun illustrating children's books and am always looking for new and interesting background ideas. THIS video is a WINNER! Thanks, Dansky!
That’s so great to hear Marilyn 😊
That AMAZING 😍
I like the way you teach us. These videos are very useful !
Thanks Joel, much appreciated 👊
Or use the layers palette to select the background object. Or in your artwork, the background object was the only locked element. When you do an unlock all, it's already selected. Also the eyedropper tool is quicker than locating the object in the layers palette and option clicking and dragging.
very underrated channel, the contents are beginner friendly.. i just subscribed!!!
Thanks so much Eeejay! Great to have you here, welcome! 😊

You're very welcome!
Hey @Danksy Thanks for the video! Im curious... Do you (or anyone else in the comments) have any techniques for removing banding in illustrator? It would be nice if we could make these designs a little smoother. In Photoshop I just use 16bit color instead of 8 but that's not an option in illustrator
Thank You So Much Bud
You’re welcome ☺️
I see what you did with the finger point 0.24. Nice touch!
Aha thanks Walter 😉
i've never been 30 sencods in a video and just decided to suscribe
this was excelent, thanks!
Woah that’s awesome to hear! Thank you so much! 😍

Cheers!
Nice 🥰🥰
you're the best🔥
Thanks Jesse!
This was a cool tutorial but its even easier now in AI. What a time to be alive!
I love everything about your videos! You never cease to amaze me! One question-how can I turn your paper cutout design into a seamless repeat surface pattern design? I know that if anyone could help me with this "problem" it would be you! 😬 Thank you!!
Hey thanks so much 👍 For a seamless design you would need to design the shapes with seamlessness in mind, and could perhaps copy the whole design, flip horizontally and move to the right and butt them up next to each other. Then copy both of these and flip them vertically and butt them up underneath - essentially so you have 4 copies of the design. Group everything together and then you should be able to create copies of the group and extend the pattern in any direction with the edges looking pretty seamless 😊
@@ForeverDansky Thank you so much for your speedy reply!! See, you ARE amazing!, 😁 This is interesting-if I’m picturing this correctly, I would end up with somewhat of a checkerboard version of the original design, is that right? That in itself would make an awesome pattern. I appreciate your help so very much and I will put this into action right away! 🫶
love your videos. thank you. what is that background? is it foam or har surface? plastic?
Thanks Ricardo! Aha it's a wall of acoustic foam, helps improve the audio quality :)
you are my star. Thanks a lot
So nice of you Amin, thank you :)
@@ForeverDansky I really have learn a lot from you. I wish you give more classes about using texture effect
Best youtuber teacher dansky long life sire
Thanks Asad!
Can you tell me that how did you the trim the shapes that are coming out of the document? Please tell. Wonderful tutorial by the way.

this mans humour is what i love too
Aha thanks Joe 😂👊
Nicely done. Why are you not using a simple drop shadow?
He explained in the video.
It's so he can control where the shadows go. You can't do that with a drop shadow.
very nice trick
Thanks!
@@ForeverDansky pls make a Tut of this trick Dan....
What font do you use for your thumbnails?
Satoshi these days 👌
How to apply replace spine to text
so how to put the shadow under the paper?
I'm still getting lines when I change the raster effects?
Hey James, try making everything smaller by reducing the size of the shapes. You can always design a bit smaller, and at the end ‘Expand’ everything and scale it all back up. I’m not sure why this is even a thing, but that’s a work-around I often use 👍
Simon... Is that you😂
this gassiun blur doesn't work properly on my pc. any other way? this type of issue make me feel demotivated
I thought I was the only one, have you found a fix to this problem
The de-selection on the active object after selecting the smooth tool always baffled me! Adobe, please fix it.
I've learnt a new word - janky.
Aha very good sir 🍻
Q: What was the potato doing on the A-10?
A: About 10 km/h
I still can see color bandings in your gradients
RUclips
over design of paper can not save how to fix
I avoid the pen tool.....
Why adobe 😂😂
The man's name was Gauss, not Goz.
👏
This is fantastic stuff, I'm going to do this in AE and animate - just for fun...
KP
Awesome! Thanks Kevin 😊👊
