Thanks Ben for the wonderful interview. I would also love to see the actual whole bush during a review so we can see what it looks like. Also, we know this is a bit of work, would you be able to rate each rose on your lists based on these items like in the help me find site - ‘flowering quantity, flowering qualities, flowering frequency, disease resistance, shade and rain tolerance’ so at one glance, we can look for a rose that best suite our needs. Thanks so much.
Princess Alexandra of Kent and Princess Ann...wow! My zone 4 garden demands David Austins that exhibit a full upright, bushy habit and architecture with strong flowering stems. No droopy blossoms, please! Austins were bred for the English climate, also suited to warm zones of the United States. They require winter protection in Canada followed by a hard spring pruning, since they lack cane hardiness in winter areas short of zone 6. I miss some of the oldies such as St. Swithun, Mary Rose, Abraham Darby, William Shakespeare 2000 and Jude the Obscure. My favourite Austin blossom is 'Munstead Wood'; a dark velvety cherry-wine that reflects the color of my bedroom furniture, lol. I love combining it with 'The Fairy' polyantha rose in a pink glass vase. Great Austin review and thank you! 🌹
@@otchsigua8223 I'd say Princess Alexandra of Kent is #2, huge flowers, last up to 5 days if no rain, and very fragrant. Short climber Tess of The d'Urbervilles I only have had for less than three months, already like it a lot -- fragrant, last long in heat and re-bloom fast. Lady of Shallot is great too, very fragrant, but flowers don't last as long as the last ones I mentioned.
I agree! I love my Gabriel Oak, mine blooming till the first freeze. The color is stunning and mine is almost in partial shade. My Olivia flops too but her blooms are beautiful.
I had a wonderful Lady Emma Hamilton at my previous house. When I ordered Lady Emma for my current house from DA Roses, the root was quite small and the plant had many disease issues. I ended up pulling it out and throwing it away, sadly enough. So I can see why DA has stopped producing it. I hope they are able to figure out a way to produce a healthy LEH in the future- it was a magnificent rose!
Thank You so much for this beautiful rendtion of the "roses'hall of fame "... They are absolutely magnificent!!! Would you please consider showing us round Your garden so that we could see all the winners in their natural habitat?

Thank you, Ben! This is such a beautiful review! I really like your calm and clear videos - they are very soothing. And your love for roses is also very infectious: - )
Thanks Ben this is great.. such beautiful roses! Kew gardens is a favourite of mine I actually grow it as a short climber! It throws out giant canes which I lay laterally and they bloom all the way down the stem...absolutely gorgeous!
Well done Ben..that took some time and thought to put that together...just fantastic fully captivated for the whole performance...thankyou for taking the time to do this just amazing..rgds Chris
I love to rewatch this video it’s so calming and enjoyable. I love your passion for roses! I hope some day you do a full bush video of Silas maner! Would love to see that 🤗 I’m getting her next year all thanks to you
I have almost of them thanks to yours recommendations! But the one that impresse me the most is the Olivia Austin. I have one that is already in its third year and despite its being in a very ingrateful place, theres never any sun, it is in excellent health, has grown well and give me a lot of flowers even from the beginning of Spring until the beginning of winter. I like it so much that i planted one in another place with the better conditions. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out!
Great to hear all about your wonderful roses, can’t wait to find a few from that list , got Eustacia Vye yesterday and put her in a pot, looking forward to seeing the blooms. Thanks for all the information you have given 🥀🥀🥀

Thank you so much for sharing your passion for roses with us, this is contagious. The problem is that not all of us have a big garden. My husband has already complained that i cut out salads and carrots! Do what?! Between them and roses...
I got a jubilee celebration and I am in love the flowers, like you mentioned they are huge flowers but I planted mine in a pot I don’t know if it because of that the blooms tend to face down. But they are really beautiful roses

Hi Ben, which of all shrubs for Large Deep Pot would you recommend absolutely hands down for Strong Scent and Pest/Disease Resistance. Thanks Ben, you're a Star.
Thank you so much for your review. I actually have quite a few on your list. PAOK, Gabriel Oak and Eustacia Vye. I am eyeing on Princess Ann. Her color is so magenta.
Another great video. I love your videos. Like others have said would love to see some of the actual bushes especially when you say you get flushes with over 100 flowers. Surprised Munstead wood doesn't make it? I know it is retired by most rosarians I know would put it in their top 3 for all rose breeds not just Austins.
OMG I see this and I remember Deepak Chopra "Garden of my soul" I would like to have those roses in my small small garden, but here in Finland so difficult.
Thank you very much Ben for taking the time to do this review. I love all your videos, always so informative. I would love if one day could you make a video of your garden please!!! 💐💜
in 2012 i first time traveled into england and first time saw garden full of roses it was beautiful for me , i never seen so meny roses in my country like i saw in that garden,i had red eurpoean climbing rose was the one i always seen in all gardens , after that garden i told to my self i have to have roses meny meny roses ... for now i have few pinks and yellows , one alchemyst , one shalot or maby hamilton still dont know and i want more , after this video i will need more roses ....
@@the_gardenerben Yes, all the unpainted woodwork and timber framing I get glimpses of is very pretty. As an amateur timber framer I'd love to see and hear more about fine work in living spaces like that. What I make is much more rough.
I appreciate your informed opinion. Thank you. I have a handful of Austin roses that didn't even make it on the list. I can only imagine how beautiful these top 20 or top10 will be.
Stumbled on here and have thoroughly enjoyed your video for 2022. I now have to watch all of the others but will save 2024. I have yet to buy a David Austin rose for myself and so I plan to enlighten myself first. I look forward to such an exciting journey. ❤❤ Thank you. A garden visit will also have to be a must. I forecast Elizabeth and Bring me Sunshine to both enter the top 10 next year. David Austin roses have indeed released some exceptional new roses these last few years.
Hi Ben, just wanted to say a big Thank you to yourself for your wonderful video, I watched it this morning before heading out to the garden centre and guess what! !!!!??? I found Lady Emma Hamilton! !!!!!!! So !!!! I bought 2 😆! on your recommendation 😊 😆 Oh! & they were half price 😊 that brings to a total of 15 David Austin rose's bought in a week! 😂 .... maybe they should name the next rose ... Deliriously Happy 😆 Thank you again Ben can't wait for your next video 😊💚
@@the_gardenerben I have and I have a bit of a story, I always thought they were shrubs but I found out after purchasing it, found out it's a climber. I asked the person at Halifax perennials (where I bought it) if it's ok with some shade, as the only place I could plant it is behind my garage and it gets sun until noon, he said it needs 4-5 hours of sun at least.. so it could thrive there, but I'm not sure. Another option would be to give it to my mother for mother's day, they have better sun coverage by their house and she would love them. I bought a gentle Hermione and Vanessa Bell for the front of my house, but I'm looking forward to the Queen of Sweden for next year. I'm a big fan of your channel, keep up the good work :)
My southern friends, in the deep scorching heat of Texas Jubilee Celebration blooms over and over again. When everything else has been defeated, jubilee keeps producing like nobody’s business. The best choice for us 😃
Thank you, Ben. Your passion is infectious!!!!! just planted 3 bare root roses from your list. Can't wait for the blooms in summer. Might you be able to do a review on 'The Ingenious Mr. Fairchild'?
There is no way of softening this, the ingenious, Mr Fairchild was deemed by myself as a gateway plant week, and various acceptable to blackspot, mould and mildew, and as a result, was weeded out and remove from my collection
@Ben Hamilton Anderson -The David Austin expert Thank you for your prompt reply, Ben. Am crossing it off my wishlist. Your expertise is much appreciated.
Once again thank you so much. Was excited to see you had a new top 20 review and watched with baited breath to see which rose you were going to bring out next. Felt quite smug when I saw Gabriel Oak appear. I bought one this year and love it
Hello Ben. Which Fragrance is stronger on the Eustacia Vye VS Harlow Carr VS James Austin VS Silas Marner? please. Will take your advice and buy blind based on what you say! Thanks!
All the roses you have mentioned have very different characteristics, but you’ll find the strongest fragrance from Esustacia vye Silas Marner Harlow, Carr with James , L Austin coming in last
I saw #15 Jubilee Celebration in Bodnant Garden in early October 2022, and became my instant favourite, so pretty, and the fragrance was addictive, i kept going back to them, i liken it to turkish delight. I wanted to buy off the website and was so sad to see that David Austin had retired it due to climate change and pests.
Hiya Ben, How about Mill on the Floss? Does she Ball being such heavy looking blooms? And, of the Gabriel Oak, Mill on the Floss and Silas Mariner which smell is stronger? Thanks
Funny enough Mill on the floss does ball slightly but because of its slightly ruffled dishevelled look it only adds to its charm mill on the floss also flowers quite heavily at this time of year when the evenings are damp and cold the bloom is still open I would say that out of the three listed Silas Marner has the strongest fragrance have you watched my best for fragrance video, I’ve created several best of collections
Thank you, Ben, for your lovely, informative reviews. They help me make my selections with first-hand knowledge. FYI ... Sceptered Isle and Lady Emma Hamilton are now available on pre-order for the 2023 season. I am so blessed to have been notified. I jumped right in and sealed the deal! Would you be so kind as to recommend a superior red rose, please? One that is resistant to disease and produces large blooms. Thank you, in advance. Have a beautiful autumn! 🍁🍂
I’m glad you have managed to get hold of lady Emma Hamilton look out for special information from me regarding bare root roses from October 1st In the meantime do you take a look at LD Braithwaite
I only have one David Austin in my small garden, and it's Poet's Wife. This is year 3 and it still flops over possibly due to the heaviness of the flower head. You mentioned this rose would need support. What would you use to support this plant. It seems the stems are not stout enough to hold the flower head up. I'm in Boise, Idaho.
Love the reviews! Thank you for the hard work of getting it all together! Had hard time hearing due to the volume of the video but Man! So many pretty roses to consider for my garden for next spring! I always wonder if anyone ever dries petals of separate roses and has a good review of that. I make rose petal jams etc and some petals just stink when they age or dry 😅
respect to you sir. i like the way u explained. i live in a hot climates and i am now staring and listening at your beautiful flowers. how i long to have a garden of roses at my own yard. whatever it is your explaination is simply perfect. love it so much🙏🙏🙏🙏😍 from malaysia
Hi It’s my pleasure, and no that one was bred just a year after I was born it’s no longer in production hear in the U.K. I’m Not sure about the rest of the world
Lovely thorough review. Thanks. I have a lot of Austins (most of the modern collection) and I would put Desdemona in my top 10 or top 5. I find its flowering perpetual, scent is knockout and blooms are very pretty. Why does it not make your top 20? I think Silas M and Scepter’d Isle are two of the very best.
Ah yes, you can always get bad luck with a rose and that certainly taint one’s opinion. I wish you luck with your new one. I have found it incredible. After watching your latest version of this I have a Bring Me Sunshine currently on the way! Do you have any Kordes roses? Like Austin, I find this rose breeder superb. In my opinion little can compete with the Austin and Kordes collections. Would be great to get your rose reviews of some of the top Kordes roses such as Bliss parfuma, Earth Angel, Lovely Parfuma to name just a few.
Long live Lady Emma Hamilton. Always my number one. I do not understand how they can not get this rose back on track . As a brit in Amsterdam I definitely find the rootstock of German roses more robust. I bought thisrose when first released for many people they all have made magnificent rose shrubs. My two healthy and very strong. Why not find strong source material form people who have original released lady Emma. And graft to the stronger European rootstock types. . I guess we all shall have to take cuttings to keep this rose hoping in the future. .lady of shallot is pants in five years its only been a stingy floppy monster recently dug up and thrown away
First of all this is my personal selection based on growth habit disease resistant scene flower abundance and overall appearance over recent years David Austin haven’t produced any red roses are Gabriel Oak is the first of its colour range for a long time I’m assuming this is a response to trends over the last 10 years for a more desirable paler colour whites creams pile yellows and soft pinks more on trend than a strong primary reds and bold oranges also must take in mind that arose takes at least 8 to 10 years to bring to the market
Thank you for this great review my friend!!! I have several of these and plan to aquire some others on this list. I noticed that James Galway and The Pilgram are not on the list, have they fallen out of favor? What of Othello, Perdita or LD Braithwaite as well. Guess those have just been around too long.

Hello Mr.Ben, I have just discovered your site on RUclips and at the same time your valuable advice. I would like to know your opinion on the best zone 4 climbing rose. Which of these would you buy first? I have already purchased the generous gardener on your advice. James Galway, strawberry hill, tess of the d'ubervilles Thanking you very much and wishing you a wonderful spring in your beautiful garden!
Good afternoon and welcome along. I’m glad you’ve enjoyed the content. May I make you aware that this is an old video from 2022 reworked into a brand-new collection for 2023 if you’re interested in watching that video
Zone four is very harsh indeed, and I believe you probably have most of the roses that would be available and classified as being fully hardy. However, other roses for you to take a look at would be Claire Austin, the pilgrim and the Wedgewood rose all of which will have personal reviews here on RUclips and on my Instagram channel if you need any help don’t hesitate to ask.
Many thanks for your post, your passion is contagious. 😁I was hoping to see Gertrude Jekyll on the list as we just bought 2. their fragrance and beauty captivated us. We are novices to growing roses, so forgive my question is there any characteristics that we should be aware of that prevent them being in your top 20 and maybe things we should pay attention to? Many thanks
My top 20 is compiled each, and every year it changes ever so slightly as new varieties are brought to the market. The top is dominated by roses, bringing together the full package of foliage, disease, resistance, stem, colour and growth figure, combined with flowering period and fragrance much as Gertrude Jekyll is a stunning rose by today’s standards. It’s not particularly high performing and its disease resistance is somewhat questionable. It suffers terribly with black spot when stressed. I get lots of messages from people confused that their favourite rose is not included in either the best of selection or in the top 20. These are my growing experiences over the last 28 days from the collection of Roses. The total is 240 different varieties. I never offer an opinion of a rose that I haven’t been growing in the garden for less than 18 months, meaning I’m able to give you a detailed description of its growth habit and performance over that time
Hi Ben! I have a Etoile De Holland and a Madame Carriere, I have a shady space between them and really really need you to recommend the best climber that a) Will never Ball and will smell b) absolutely divine. Please help!!! Thanks from David UK
Hi Ben It takes a wee while to see these here in New Zealand, but I’m on the look out! - Thank you! Re R. Gabriel Oak would ‘electric pink’ be a good name for the colour? It reminds me of a rose my Ma grew in her 3/4 acre garden years ago (long before the fabulous DA’s came on the scene… I would sit on her deck and just look about her garden and there was just one rose that would always draw the eye right across her garden like a show stopper. R. Gabriel Oak would do that even better and it’s something most rose growers don’t ask themselves…if you had only x1 rose in your garden to make an impact and draw your eye to a particular area (using colour) what would you choose, please? The other type of rose that one rarely sees for sale are the DA single blooms that are simple and elegant and float like butterflies. I’ve been searching for years for them and they are just not available here - Why? - I’m waiting for them to become the latest trend which they really do deserve.
Gabriel Oak, it’s very difficult to describe it is a very vibrant pink. If I had to choose one rose from the full collection right now to make an impact for colour there’s nothing quite like it. The most recent single flowered varieties from David Austin or Kew Gardens and tottering by gently both of which have been reviewed by myself in your find videos here on RUclips or on my Instagram.
Thanks Ben for the amazing reviews! I've got space for two roses in large pots on my patio. My shortlist is Silas Marner, Gabriel Oak and Country Parson. Which 2 would you recommend? For best combination of colours, and best fragrance! Thank you
Thanks Ben . I started new rose Garden after watching your videos . I have seen this multiple times . I got 2 lady Emma , 2 Gabriel and 1 Silas . Gabriel oak was blooming it had 4-5 blooms , now in August in zone 9b almost none of these have blooms . I have them in full sun 🙁
Hello! What a beautiful collection of roses! 😍 Which roses would you recommend for people living in Western Norway? Think the climate is a bit colder than in Great Britain.
Appreciate this informative list, however can you elaborate why Claire Austin climber won’t fair well on a wall and since it’s only been in the ground as a bare root for a season is it okay for me to transplant in a better environment?
This video is meant as a quick breakdown and ranking top 20 only you will gain much much more information in depth of each particular rose. If you take the time to watch the individual reviews, there’s around 70 of them here, including one for Claire Austin. Do you mean it’s been planted over this autumn winter season or it’s been in the ground for 12 months which season are you currently working in?
Found the video...all of them are so lovely. But I can only buy 3 for now to grow in pots. Besides Gabriel Oak and Roald Dahl, which third one do you recommend? I have space where I get both full and partial sun :)
Although this is the top ranking 20 of the roses that I grow here in my garden, have you also looked at my Best of selections I brought together all of the roses into several collections, suitable for shade, best for flowering and even one of the best container growing the rose, you’re probably looking for is “Eustacia vye “
St swithen is not one I have or have seen much of i believe now on it’s way to retirement hear in the U.K. strawberry hill has received its review you can find that one hear or in my storey highlights on Instagram
@@the_gardenerben Thank you i'll check out your review. i just planted the St swithen last year and if starting to bloom!! beautiful large flowers and scent!!!
Hi, and welcome along. I would start by watching my best food containers and growing in a pot selection from here you can choose the smaller and more compact roses and then watch each individual review. There are over 115 for you to choose from but if you start with the smaller ones you can work out from there.
This video is very helpful! I am in zone 7a ( Connecticut, USA). I have a shady area where the tall trees are creating shade on the spot. I want to plant a rose which has big blooms with lots of petals and will bloom well in this shady spot. Please recommend the best 2 roses for my spot.
If the area is also dry it’s going to be difficult to work with you’re going to have to concentrate on your watering and adding organic matter to the soil around the plants to make sure that they thrive I’ve filmed the best of collection for shady areas this includes Roses like Roald Dahl, Imogen and LD Braithwaite do take a look at the full video
Hi, I have a question for you about 2 older DA rose varieties, Rose English Garden ( Ausbuff) and Rose Troilus ( Ausoil). Which of these two roses is better bloomer ? Please let me know.
@@the_gardenerben Hi, Thank you for letting me know. You mean England’s Rose Auslounge ? Is it dark pink ? But the vendor has only Ausbuff and Ausoil , so I have to choose one out of these two.
I have the Generous Gardener and it’s not pink at all but much more like super light beige white color and as soon as it opens it pretty much a white colored rose. How do I make it pink? I got it two years ago from a local market that they carry David Austin roses every year early spring.
By the sounds of things, unless you’re in a particularly warm part of the world with temperatures reaching over 26 to 27° daily as the bloom is opening you have the wrong rows
@@the_gardenerben Thanks Ben and it's great to hear from you. I actually in cool climate zone 5 in US Michigan. I love your videos, I have few David Austin roses in my garden but all of them are have the same characteristic of very shortly lived blooming time, the flowers only last a day or two three days is the max. Do you have any roses that the flower last little longer?
@@jenn36 the length of flower lasts on the plant is completely unmeasurable. I’m afraid if the flower is pollinated as soon as it opens as far as the Plants is done, the job is finished the bloom. Oh fade
@@the_gardenerben THANK YOU BEN!! 😊 I highly value your advise and appreciate it! I have 25 " by 27" deep air prooning pots on my balcony that is huge. All DA roses are doing great except Batsheba. Lost her unfortunately. She came with a black spot and fungus from a nursery. I defoliated and prooned her, then her new leaves were curling up, then she died. The scent of her few flowers she had were out of this world beautiful!! One little flower scented the whole balcony. Worry that I won't get that with princes Margarita. In few years I will most likely buy a house where all roses will go into the ground. Now they're thriving in air pots. Hopefully they will live through winter ok here in Illinois USA. Will use burlap wrap, bubble wrap and lots of mulch. Thank you again dear and have a most wonderful day!!
Hi, I like your reviews a lot. I have 35 DA roses. I just wanted to know about the rose Golden Celebration. I have this rose planted in partial sun. It bloomed some nice flowers but the size is not that big. The number of blooms are not that many. I am in Connecticut, zone 7a. Please advice whether I should move this rose to full sun area.
Hi, if I’m honest this is Rose may be struggling with your heat and it may be best to move it into deeper shade rather than full sun in my personal experience of this plant is not a great rose in the UK this week often blighted with black spot mould mildew and is prone to balling during wet conditions there is not a hugely popular rise here in the UK apart from my name
@@the_gardenerben Thank you for your reply. Here in USA Golden Celebration is even doing well in hotter zones like Alabama, California,Florida which are zone 8, 9, 10 . The blooms are huge! I asked them and they said that the rose is planted in full sun and blooming very well. So I thought, may be I should move it to spot where it will get full sun.
Thank you Ben So interesting to watch, well done! Is Emily Bronte anywhere in your top 50 list? I purchased this from DA nursery as it was the only rose in bloom while others had rest in July, couldn't decide between Gabriel Oak and Emily Bronte, have I made the wrong choice?
The right choice is always the Rose that makes you smile for us I can always be very different Emily Brontë would make it very much well into the top 50 and he’s a lovely rose especially if you’re planning on cutting it and bring it into the house

Well done Ben..that took some time and thought to put that together...just fantastic fully captivated for the whole performance...thankyou for taking the time to do this just amazing..rgds Chris
Thank you for doing this..... I'm making and remaking my list for my fall barefoot order.....
Thanks Ben, I love these reviews and find them so helpful in planning my garden.
I love to rewatch this video it’s so calming and enjoyable. I love your passion for roses! I hope some day you do a full bush video of Silas maner! Would love to see that 🤗 I’m getting her next year all thanks to you
Thank you for the list!! You have been pumping out reviews like a beast! So impressive! I love watching your videos.
It’s been a big undertaking this year
Yay !!! So happy you did this video
Thank you so very much :) really appreciate your efforts

I have almost of them thanks to yours recommendations! But the one that impresse me the most is the Olivia Austin. I have one that is already in its third year and despite its being in a very ingrateful place, theres never any sun, it is in excellent health, has grown well and give me a lot of flowers even from the beginning of Spring until the beginning of winter. I like it so much that i planted one in another place with the better conditions. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out!
Ben, you are our no# 1 top pick! Thankyou soooo much for sharing the rose love x

Enjoyed this, thank you! Would be a great idea to see these flowers in your garden to give us more visual idea of what they look like in situ.
That’s what the individual personal reviews of for this video is a little bit more of a re-Bringing together all of the information provided in the over 70 personal reviews for each particular rows.
It really does age beautifully as the bloom fails and ranks very highly with me I have several
Beautiful roses!
Thanks for the video. Looking forward to your 2023 version. Your handwriting looks very nice btw. How do you find space for the new roses you trial?

I appreciate your informed opinion. Thank you. I have a handful of Austin roses that didn't even make it on the list. I can only imagine how beautiful these top 20 or top10 will be.
I have 96 varieties in total so there’s lots to chose from

Stumbled on here and have thoroughly enjoyed your video for 2022. I now have to watch all of the others but will save 2024. I have yet to buy a David Austin rose for myself and so I plan to enlighten myself first. I look forward to such an exciting journey. ❤❤ Thank you. A garden visit will also have to be a must. Hi Ben, just wanted to say a big Thank you to yourself for your wonderful video, I watched it this morning before heading out to the garden centre and guess what! !!!!??? Wow what a lucky find ! Enjoy them all
I just bought a Claire Austin, I'm hoping for the best.
Have you watched its full personal review ?
The best choice for us 😃
Good to hear x
Thank you, Ben. Your passion is infectious!!!!! just planted 3 bare root roses from your list. Can't wait for the blooms in summer. Might you be able to do a review on 'The Ingenious Mr. Fairchild'?
It’s an absolute pleasure. I have another 40 reviews coming this coming June to celebrate national rows month here in the UK.
There is no way of softening this, the ingenious, Mr Fairchild was deemed by myself as a gateway plant week, and various acceptable to blackspot, mould and mildew, and as a result, was weeded out and remove from my collection

Why would they discontinue such a nice Rose ??
Once again thank you so much. Was excited to see you had a new top 20 review and watched with baited breath to see which rose you were going to bring out next. Felt quite smug when I saw Gabriel Oak appear. I bought one this year and love it

Hello Ben. Which Fragrance is stronger on the Eustacia Vye VS Harlow Carr VS James Austin VS Silas Marner? please. Will take your advice and buy blind based on what you say! Thanks!
All the roses you have mentioned have very different characteristics, but you’ll find the strongest fragrance from Esustacia vye Silas Marner Harlow, Carr with James , L Austin coming in last
Have you watched my best for fragrance video
Thanks Ben!
Thanks
Funny enough Mill on the floss does ball slightly but because of its slightly ruffled dishevelled look it only adds to its charm mill on the floss also flowers quite heavily at this time of year when the evenings are damp and cold the bloom is still open
I would say that out of the three listed Silas Marner has the strongest fragrance have you watched my best for fragrance video, I’ve created several best of collections
Thanks Ben! Висадила у своєму садочку Крокус Роуз, Фальстаф, Вінчестер Кафєдраль, Мері Роуз та Джуд де Обскур, чекаю першого цвітіння))))

Sceptered Isle and Lady Emma Hamilton are now available on pre-order for the 2023 season. I am so blessed to have been notified. I jumped right in and sealed the deal! In the meantime do you take a look at LD Braithwaite
Thank you, Ben! ❤️
You are the first Person to grow and love Mill on the Floss!
How do you mean ?
I only have one David Austin in my small garden, and it's Poet's Wife. This is year 3 and it still flops over possibly due to the heaviness of the flower head. You mentioned this rose would need support. What would you use to support this plant. It seems the stems are not stout enough to hold the flower head up. I'm in Boise, Idaho.
god bless you more receive blessings more
Love the reviews! Thank you for the hard work of getting it all together! Had hard time hearing due to the volume of the video but Man! So many pretty roses to consider for my garden for next spring! Hi It’s my pleasure, and no that one was bred just a year after I was born it’s no longer in production hear in the U.K. I’m
Not sure about the rest of the world
Lovely thorough review. Thanks. I have a lot of Austins (most of the modern collection) and I would put Desdemona in my top 10 or top 5. I find its flowering perpetual, scent is knockout and blooms are very pretty. Why does it not make your top 20? I think Silas M and Scepter’d Isle are two of the very best.
I’m having another go with Desdemona, my first went in the bin- may I just check you know that this list is reworked every year there’s one for 2023
Ah yes, you can always get bad luck with a rose and that certainly taint one’s opinion.
@@Alfster18 yes I have a few kordes ones though Peter Beales
Just curious. There's only 1 red/redish rose for the top 20. Are red DAs not that prolific?
First of all this is my personal selection based on growth habit disease resistant scene flower abundance and overall appearance over recent years David Austin haven’t produced any red roses are Gabriel Oak is the first of its colour range for a long time I’m assuming this is a response to trends over the last 10 years for a more desirable paler colour whites creams pile yellows and soft pinks more on trend than a strong primary reds and bold oranges also must take in mind that arose takes at least 8 to 10 years to bring to the market
how does Mill on the Floss handle rain
Thank you for this great review my friend!!! I have several of these and plan to aquire some others on this list. I noticed that James Galway and The Pilgram are not on the list, have they fallen out of favor? What of Othello, Perdita or LD Braithwaite as well. Guess those have just been around too long.
No that’s not the case at all but top 20 can only have 20 and in my opinion these are the top

Hi there’s certainly nothing in the DA collections that will love being there
Hi there’s certainly nothing in the DA collections that will love being there
Hi Ben
It takes a wee while to see these here in New Zealand, but I’m on the look out!
The most recent single flowered varieties from David Austin or Kew Gardens and tottering by gently both of which have been reviewed by myself in your find videos here on RUclips or on my Instagram.
i would like to know your opinion conserning which roses would fill the garden with aromatic parfume the best 🌹

@@sarmishthabanerjee1057 I have very limited experience of both but in my opinion England’s rose is the better Pro former
Do you have any roses that the flower last little longer?
@@jenn36 the length of flower lasts on the plant is completely unmeasurable. I’m afraid if the flower is pollinated as soon as it opens as far as the Plants is done, the job is finished the bloom. Oh fade
Hi Ben! Crowned princess Margarita or Batsheba??? Do you have both? Which one is better ? Thank you !!
It’s by a no brainier one appears in this top 20 one is no where to be seen
Thanks Ben, I would appreciate if you can provide the 20 names in writing
Please read the video description you will find all the names there in order

So interesting to watch, well done!
