You can really hear the Mariah Carey influence in her voice with the seamless transitions between chest, falsetto and whistle and her use of runs. Honestly one of the best voices of today.

Yeah. She literally is one of the best singer these days. Mori is a versatile singer that she change her voice according to the song's genre. She also has the highest vocal range among all filipino singer with a range of [Bb2 - D8]. That's 5 octaves and 4 semitones.
Morissette is the greatest singer/vocalist to ever step foot on this planet. A freak of nature. She is truly indeed, the "Asia's Phoenix", an unstoppable force of vocal power and prowess, a symbol for everyone to rise up from the ashes amidst this chaotic times. No one in a human form can execute strenuous vocal skills in one song performance. Her insanely vocal range, control, techniques, dynamics, power, belt, low notes, growls, squeaks, and her signature whistle tones after hitting a high note all in one breath. Can't imagine, how she did all of that. Maybe she forgets on how to be a human, again. It's way too much to handle, inevitably we're having an absolute eargasm. Her music is a gift. A beacon of light when we're lost in this dark times, the warmth in our hearts in this cold life. Listening to her sang send chills to one's soul even after a thousand times. Her entire existence validates that there is still hope and love left in this world.

on your own, go back and turn on the captions so you know what she's saying. I've been aware of Mori for over 2 years, so I can't fault you for NOT knowing of her. There are so many singers to be 'on top of' , it's hard to know where to start or how far back to go with an artist. Mori does have versatility ranging from Never Enough to Phoenix with many songs between them such as Rise Up, Secret Love song (Little Mix), her Moon River mash with a local song. For something faster her cover of Ain't Been Done (by Jessie J) is fun, and this was evidently combined with a photo shoot. Thank you very much for reacting to the Asian Phoenix

She was just around 20-21 at that time. She did that live while hundreds were listening outside the wish bus. Yes, it’s in a bus. Listen to hundreds of her covers that are almost always better than the originals of the divas of the past & of the present. She does any genre with aplomb. Start with Stone Cold, Jesus Take the Wheel, Defying Gravity, Ain’t been done, Rock Medley, MoonRiver/Usahay Mashup, & Resignation. Those songs are of different genres so you can more or less gauge her talent in just less than an hour of listening to her. Follow that up with her original compositions Love You Still & Phoenix and then her OPM (Original Pilipino Music) songs like You & I, Diamante, Naririnig mo ba, & Di Mapaliwanag. Turn on CC/English subs while listening to the Tagalog songs so you can appreciate more her performances. After that, listen to her duets with different amazing artists like ‘Finally Found Someone with Arnel Pineda (Journey’s vocalist) - this was an impromptu duet when she passed by wishbus while Arnel was singing there. I believe it was a flageolet, not a whistle. She was sitting down, singing live with a headset on and her technical skills are incredible. The last belt she did at the end of the song was 14 seconds long without a breath. The ease of her singing is due to her ability to use resonators in her facial mask supported by her diaphragm. One of her best covers is stone cold. Check it out.

I enjoyed your technical analysis but also your genuine delight and astonishment at Mori's vocal abilities. She does acclaimed covers of mainstream pop songs and love ballads, but she is not afraid to successfully tackle inspirational songs and challenging works. She completely redid Rise Up (doing it a cappella with 3rd Avenue) and revised the popular Korean ballad Resignation, singing it in English, Filipino and Korean.
