I'm in mid50's and seen artists of 60's to present. Only Morissette has the most singing technical skills that I witnessed. She can sing in all genres and in several languages. Not even those "very popular" Western artists can come close as to her skills. She sing's live, no Auto tune, never did a lip-synch performance. 🏆🥰🤩

Mori is a product of several amateur singing contests here (none of which she won) but it helped her a great deal in improving her vocal technique and gaining confidence. Besides that, karaoke is a permanent fixture in the lives of Pinoys, hence our love for music in general. The versatility of most artists here are due to the fact that OGs/veterans are always collaborating and helping newbies. That's why genres just blends into each other. Mori is one of the second generation vocal trinity in our country. The other two are Jona and Katrina Velarde (both have performances on the Wish Bus as well). The original vocal trinity are Regine Velasquez, Jaya and Lani Misalucha. They are still killing it vocally to this day. They are very diverse in their styles but are all equally captivating.

She decided to become a pro at 9, she said in an interview, and started her career when she was in Talentadong Pinoy aged 14 back in 2010 - there are videos of that. Judges all saw her huge confidence beyond her young age. At 17 she joined The Voice Philippines and her coach was Sarah Geronimo who was herself discovered by Regine Velasquez. Another judge at the contest, Lea Salonga who first sang Miss Saigon on Broadway and some Disney stuff, told Morissette that she had an exceptional talent for conveying feelings. In fact she said way more than she herself had at that young age. As for Akin Ka Na Lang, the original song written for her in 2014 didn't reach that huge popularity. It was the Wish Bus performance in 2018, promo for her concert actually, that went viral globally. She was just 22 then. Recently she did a live version of the song in "The Loft" with the songs composer on the keyboard and her musical director on bass guitar - they kind of jazzed it up. I'm in mid50's and seen artists of 60's to present. Only Morissette has the most singing technical skills that I witnessed. She can sing in all genres and in several languages. Not even those "very popular" Western artists can come close as to her skills. She sing's live, no Auto tune, never did a lip-synch performance. 🏆🥰🤩

Mori, Marcelito Pomoy and Darren Espanto were the artists that made Wish Bus popular in its early days. Most artists in the Philippines start really young. Mori is a product of several amateur singing contests here (none of which she won) but it helped her a great deal in improving her vocal technique and gaining confidence. Besides that, karaoke is a permanent fixture in the lives of Pinoys, hence our love for music in general. The versatility of most artists here are due to the fact that OGs/veterans are always collaborating and helping newbies. That's why genres just blends into each other. Mori is one of the second generation vocal trinity in our country. The other two are Jona and Katrina Velarde (both have performances on the Wish Bus as well). The original vocal trinity are Regine Velasquez, Jaya and Lani Misalucha. They are still killing it vocally to this day. They are very diverse in their styles but are all equally captivating.

Morissette not only is from a musical family (her rock musician father named her after Alanis Morissette and her mother sang ballads) she amazed her own folks when she picked up the karaoke mike and sang a Regine Velasquez song - at three. She decided to become a pro at 9, she said in an interview, and started her career when she was in Talentadong Pinoy aged 14 back in 2010 - there are videos of that. Judges all saw her huge confidence beyond her young age. At 17 she joined The Voice Philippines and her coach was Sarah Geronimo who was herself discovered by Regine Velasquez. Another judge at the contest, Lea Salonga who first sang Miss Saigon on Broadway and some Disney stuff, told Morissette that she had an exceptional talent for conveying feelings. In fact she said way more than she herself had at that young age. As for Akin Ka Na Lang, the original song written for her in 2014 didn't reach that huge popularity. It was the Wish Bus performance in 2018, promo for her concert actually, that went viral globally. She was just 22 then. Recently she did a live version of the song in "The Loft" with the songs composer on the keyboard and her musical director on bass guitar - they kind of jazzed it up. If you are looking for an even further developed Morissette, check out Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw on the Wish Bus from early 2022. Or her duet of that song with her idol Regine Velasquez - don't miss how she bows to and hugs her in the end. Regine defended Morissette against bashers some years ago BTW. Morissette's cover era was pre-pandemic, during the pandemic she created an EP with all own songs: Trophy, Mirror, Phoenix, Love You Still, Will You Stay.. a mashup of Moon River and Usahay, a song in her own regional language.. her Bruno Mars medley is post-pandemic. Recently she collaborated with Sponge Cola on "So Close", she is working on a new album, there is a musical movie "Song of the Fireflies" coming out with her playing a music teacher coming out soon, there are videos of her singing the theme song "Alitaptap" (Firefly)..

Very true because we used to hear very good singers casually anywhere. Imagine a country with millions and millions who can sing, that means she's on the master class level. In other countries, there are only handful good singers available that's why they thought that if there is anyone who can sing (like a normal level in the Philippines) is already the best vocalist 😂.

I hope Morissette became international artist, or if not i hope she won’t lose her passion in singing. She strive so much to be one, I’ve been a fan when she sang “Secret Love Song” on the Wishbus, and up until now, she’s not well known globally, of course she’s famous here in the Philippines but as greedy as i am i think she deserves more 😂. "Akin Ka Na Lang" by Morissette is my most favorite Wish Bus performance. I agree with all your comments. She is indeed beautiful, an eye candy. Whenever she performs, whether in the Wish Bus, on stage, even on her music videos, she is stunning and we can't get our eyes off her. She is gorgeous even when belting and hitting the high notes, as you have mentioned. You've seen it here, you've seen it in "Never Enough", and you'll see it in her other performances. For me, that is one of the things that separates her from other belters, who we see straining and struggling when hitting the high difficult notes that they make "ugly" faces. There is something about Morissette that captivates us, her angelic voice and graceful execution, and did you know that despite her immense talent, she remains to be a kind, humble, down-to-earth person with a bubbly personality that warms up the mood wherever she goes.
