Hey, nice video and straight to the point, but for the future, include the links, they can be affiliate, which is good for you and convinient for the people watching the video and at the end it could boost you channel. The website links too.
Hello. Excellent thanks for sharing... One Q. What is the time between the opening/closing of the sensor and the arrival of the information to the mqtt server?
Is it possible to use 12v to 5v buck converter to power ESP. So there is only need for one Power source. And ist it possible to use ESP8266 (cheaper than ESP32)
@@RushMyEx No, they use less volts but more amps so the overall power is the same. Only downside is that you need to power inject every 2 meters or so because of voltage drop
I connected the extra terminal with d2 pin and it light up but esp32 does not control it, it lights up with single color only, any idea if i need to make changes in settings?
I dont even understand what he’s using the 12volts for cause the lights run off 5v? He does mean Ws2812b right, not w2812b cause only the ws2811 or ws2815 use 12volts I’m confused by this video

hey am also doing the same project but have issues i get an error in the app saying connection to the lights failed can you help me out and also in ur video i saw u connectimg 2 plugs why is that for???
Hi Michael, since I am using govee leftover led strips, those work with 12v power supply. And ESP32 needs 5v. You can either use a buck converter or led strip which needs 5v.
@@aronlinesl I tried it as you mentioned but couldn’t replicate the issue on my side. It was still the same pattern for me. I will look into this and update here
You can create a Preset for your favourite effect. In the cofig. you can select that Preset number as the default start option. So, every time it reboots it will start with the preset rather than the default effect. hope it helps.
Good tutorial it is! Not sure if any services are required for any of your upcoming projects? If so, we'd love to supply for free, such as custom PCBs, 3D printing/ CNC machining parts. Would be nice if there's any chance working together with you! (PCBWay zoey)
Wled is open source, so if you still don't trust that, you have the option to check the code to confirm that it isn't malicious. Also, if you don't trust the website itself there are other tutorials and how you can enter wifi differently. Lastly there are alternatives too, but almost always you have to enter your wifi. It may look like a risk but you can trust it, besides that, the wifi name is already open to everyone and a password is only used to get in the network, which means someone needs to be near your router
You're not putting your credentials into a website he has the website open in the background but the box that he's putting the Wi-Fi in is the program that he just installed onto the ESP 32 board, It's just facilitated through their website. Also since you're on RUclips you most likely use Android and/or Google products and I would wager you've saved a password to Google at least once so you're okay with certain websites having your credentials
Very well done and straight to the point! You got yourself another subscriber! Can't wait to see more content from you dude.

Just what I was looking for. Thank you and good job. Right to the point.
This is awesome 👌🏻
Thanks for this tutorial.

Nice info , thanks :)
is it possible to integrate it also with apple homekit?
Could that module allow me to connect my ligths to my motherboard and follow the same color pattern of my mobo?

Yes and yes. Even easier route is to use 2812b led strip lights because they run on 5v power.
Agree with@@usagiakimbo2506
@@usagiakimbo2506 isnt the 5v version less bright?
@@RushMyEx No, they use less volts but more amps so the overall power is the same. Only downside is that you need to power inject every 2 meters or so because of voltage drop
@@RushMyEx no, and 5v is more efficient
It can be used with led strip rgb ic?
How did you setup alexa app
What about during reboot of Eps32 ?
Does it resumes previous state
Or every time should we wled to Operate
It can be controlled via app, if you want it to remain off or on, there is a setting for it
I have tp link tapo led but it has 4 terminals instead of 3, how should i connect it to esp32?
I connected the extra terminal with d2 pin and it light up but esp32 does not control it, it lights up with single color only, any idea if i need to make changes in settings?
You should do 5v from 12 to have only one voltage source. It is too complicated now.

@@taylorferrell6383 that's what i was saying wont the 12v short the 5v strip at least fist 1/2 leds
That strip is 12v, led does not come only in 5v, tp link tapo is also 12v for that matter
How to add wled in echo dot
Sir Kya hm alexa ke sath effects bhi chnage kr skte hai ya only on off hi kr skte hai?

How to add in Alexa?
Why 12v ?
Led strip is 5v?
Last part of video has Alexa integration :)

When power fails, LED pattern getting to default pattern. How can we set any pattern to default to avoid reset pattern to default when power fails?
Did you mean if power disconnected and LED strip starts again it starts with default pattern instead of a previously set pattern eg "Rainbow"?
@@athletic_nerd Yes. Do we have any option to fix that?

Super 👍
does this work with alexa without home assistant, i dont want to go near that again.....
if it works with alexa how about google home
Yes. Last part of video has Alexa integration :)
Why didn't you power the lights through the ESP32. So much easier and only one plug in.
Different voltage
ESP8266 works fine for WLED
Yup, and its cheaper too. Performance lags if u use music synch feature on it though compared to esp32

exquisite
There is no way led strip comes under $10 if it does, please share the link
Link in the description. I had leftovers at home. But I get w2812 now in $4 :)
Good tutorial!
